I only got the basic pedi (does that not include cleaning under the nail and cutting back an ingrown?) - so maybe that's why I was in/out faster than everyone in surrounding chairs (?) but I paid for the "upgrade callous remover" (cheese grater) and she was so rough she cut my foot. in retrospect, I should not have tipped her - it really was bad service. Terrible experience here. Asked for ombre nails that were light blue and left with a dark teal and sparkle. Went back the next day and the nail techs were rude about it. They lazily redid them so they were thin and flat and lumpy. They also peeled and actually snapped after 5 days. And for all that this place is super expensive. I recommend anywhere else. read more

American Nails is my go-to salon!! This time I only got a dip manicure but they do it all! (In the past I have even gotten an eyebrow wax and loved it!) I don't always go to the same lady, but the ladies I have encountered are super nice and always adaptable to change! They even make suggestions which is great for the indecisive folks! The manager is honestly the most organized woman I have ever met. She is always running around getting stuff done and checking in on the clients and her staff. Love her! I would recommend finding your favorite person and booking an appointment because it can get a little busy. Over the last year or so I have come to American nails a few more times, but unfortunately, this recent visit is the nail in its coffin. Today I came with my sisters and we had an appointment to get pedicures at the same time. My two sisters got their pedicures started on time, but my pedicurist did not arrive at the station for 23 minutes. It's a 45 minute service, so obviously that meant that my sisters had to sit and wait much longer while my nails dried after my pedicure was finally completed. The pedicure itself was fine, pretty standard, nothing great. Although at some point in the pedicure, the technician got up, I wandered around the room and went into the back. So then I sat again for about seven minutes, just waiting. It was a bizarre experience, and was frustrating because we took the step of setting an appointment so that we could all have a nice experience together. Unfortunately I did not receive a good experience. The manager was very unconcerned and didn't even ask me about the problems. When I did give feedback, she said absolutely nothing. So it really seems she was not invested in solving the problem, or keeping me as a customer. Now I really understand the two star review on yelp. It never ceases to amaze me how many people on this app are gaslighting! There is no way this business rates anything less than four stars. Made an appointment for my wife and I (don't judge me!) to come in on a Sunday afternoon, knowing that they would be busy. Our appointment was for 11:45, we showed up about ten minutes early and they got us right in. 10 minutes early! The staff was amazing! We were greeted by the manager who was very friendly and was always in sight! Now I'm no expert on manicures and/or pedicures, but the end product was awesome in my not an expert opinion! The service! I travel almost 20 minutes to get my nails done here and it has completely gone down hill. The women don't pay attention to detail, they handle your hands and feet in inoperable ways (which causes pain) They get upset when you disagree or tell them you don't like their work. I have gone in several times for a shellac manicure and those turned out good . This last time I thought I would try dip. First off I asked the tech to trim just a little off... I'm not sure she knew what a little was because my nails were cut so short. After the first cut not much else I could do but let her trim the rest because I was not going to have one short nail and all of the rest long. Good thing nails grow. Then came the time for the dip process. I fully expected her to tap a little of the dip powder on my nails and tap it off. Nope- she dipped my nail into the powder where everyone else has had their nails in as well. But the best part... she did not have me wash my hands before she had me dip my nails in the powder. Ok. I never give reviews, but here we go. I have had my fair share of pedicures, but this one was BY FAR the least relaxing one I've ever had. My foot was literally gashed open. My nail tech was apologetic by the end of the appointment (she was a very nice lady), but she admitted while she was apologizing that she wasn't paying close attention and that it was a new grater she was using so she didn't realize it would gash me... Accidents happen: I'm absolutely NOT happy about it, but I get it. What was MOST upsetting to me was that her immediate and persistent response was to push my foot back into the gross, cloudy foot bath. I was clearly uncomfortable about doing so. I kept trying to pull my foot out, and she just kept trying to push it back in. I finally said something like, "I just don't want that cut to be in dirty water" and she got the hint and started spraying it with alcohol. She never attempted to clean it with fresh soapy water. She just continued the pedicure, sprayed some alcohol on it every once in a while, and put a bandaid on it at the end. At checkout, they gave me a half price discount on my pedicure and told me to call them "in case anything happens because we all have insurance". They also told me to "do them a favor" and put alcohol and Vaseline on it daily. The nail tech and the manager (?) I spoke to both seemed genuinely apologetic -which I appreciated. I have literally never had something like this happen at a pedicure before. American Nails gets 2 stars because of the staff apologies and concern, but I will never be going back. I think that people should know that American Nails does not appear to have a protocol for first aid/hygiene for incidents like this -or at least not one that was sufficient for me. I hope that someone at American Nails develops an appropriate protocol and trains the nail techs so that when this happens again, the next customer feels more comfortable. I surely did not. Sidenote: this is a manicure I got from American Nails late last year. I wasn't going to leave a review about it originally because they let me come back in and fixed it for free. It's been many months since I've been able to get my nails done and the moment American Nails announced they would reopen I called. And the VM was FULL! Which was almost expected bc these ladies know what they're doing. Luckily I called the next day and they fit me in a day later. Walking in felt walking into your parents house, where it looks and feels like same but things are just a little different. Plexi glass is at every station and register and it made me feel a lot safer than I thought it would. They also only allow 6 guests at a time, which I'you frequent American, you know seems crazy bc every Saturday I've been every chair is occupied. I am extremely impressed with the safety precautions they're taking. Ann hooked me up with a very beautiful, quick and easy dip manicure. I was so relaxed the whole time. This is what I needed for my mental health these days. This is literally my first review ever, I don't do this kind of stuff. But after what happened the Saturday after Black Friday, I have to say something. I originally came in with my sisters and mother for a pedicure and to have the gel manicure I had previously gotten removed. I had picked out a color for my toes and told them that I just wanted a clear coat on my nails. They got us in right away without an appointment which was great. Before we started my tech wrapped my nails in cottonballs with acetone to help the polish soak off. I know now after research that this is only meant to be left on for 10-15 minutes, no more than 20, keep that in mind for later. Then she started on the pedicure, it was a good pedicure, although they used cheese graters during the filing section which I thought was illegal, but hey who am I to question. After about 20 minutes the tech is letting my feet soak and moves up to my hands. She takes off one of the acetone cotton balls and starts using an electric grinder to grind away the polish. After only a couple seconds it starts to feel like the nail she's working on has caught on fire and a little fire goblin was pinching my nail. I yanked my hand away quickly but felt bad for doing that and apologized and gave it back to her. She started doing the same thing on another nail and again, a little fire goblin was trying to pinch and set fire to my nail. I yanked away again, and this time she just covered the nails back up in the acetone and tin foil and went back to my pedicure. Once my pedicure was over, she had someone else come over to file the polish away. This person only used a scraping tool instead of the electric file and it didn't hurt nearly as bad. For reference, my pedicure took the longest of all my sisters and mom. So I had that acetone foil on my nails for over an hour. At the time I didnt think much about it cause I don't get my nails done often, but as the day went on and now about a week out from it, my entire nail beds are on fire constantly, super sensitive and are bright red. My nails are practically non existent right now and yet they keep splitting and cracking down to the nail bed tissue. It hurts so much to do anything with my hands because the nerve endings in my fingertips are practically wide open with barely any nail protecting them. And to top it all off, I paid for a full manicure and didn't even get the dang clear coat of polish. All she did was destroy them and trim them, no cuticle work no lotion or anything. I know my sisters were happy with their experience, they said it was good. Not the best experience they've ever had but nothing like mine. So please, if you choose to go here just be aware of what is happening and speak up for yourself. I wonder if I would have said something earlier I wouldn't have paid as much and wouldn't be in so much pain right now. read more

Absolutely terrible. I asked for a dip and tip and they didn't include the tips on my nails. I also needed a removal of the acrylic I had on my nails and the removed maybe half of it, so it is still visible under my nails now. None of my nails are the same length and I have multiple cuts on my nails from aggressive filing. Mail tech was rude and didn't listen to anything I said about how I wanted my nails. When telling the manager of all the mistakes her only solution was to reshape them shorter so they could all match even though they're already super short. This place has gone so down hill, terrible quality of nails, and just wanted to rush you out as soon as possible, would give 0 stars if I could. read more

I went here yesterday and I have been coming here once in a while, I've had good experiences and bad. Yesterday was by far the worse. I had dip on my nails with tips. She got cuticle clippers and ripped them off. Hurt so badly and took off a layer of my nail. I had to tell her to stop and she finally soaked the last three. This place has it figured out! I saw the Tex's washing hands (arms), there is plexiglass, sanitizer stations! The facility was spotless. The estheticians we're really rude and my nails are already chipped two days after the appointment with normal use. They were also really aggressive. To make it worse, all three of us who went together all got cuticle infections within 12 hours of getting our nails done there. One was so bad she had to go to urgent care. Will not be returning to this "best of Omaha" nail spa. Respect and friendliness towards the customer is of utmost importance to me. They will not receive my repeat business, and I will make sure my friends know about our experience. My first visit to this salon for their most expensive spa pedi. I called ahead and made an appointment for two people. They were an HOUR late seating us and the technician who worked on my friend hardly said two words the entire time. Instead, she chatted w/the co-worker next to her during my friend's entire pedi. We also witnessed this woman treating another customer in the same cold, distant manner. I called and spoke with a manager the following day after my friend explained why she was upset after we left. All the manager said was, "sorry, we wish you would've said something at the front desk before you left." She offered nothing except to tell me I should've said something before leaving and did nothing to earn my business back except to say that this technician is usually friendly and may have had a bad day. They made me wait an hour and half past my scheduled appointment before I even had an update that they'd be with me soon, and if I was told prior that they were running that far behind I would've rescheduled the appointment. They were also out of every single chrome color option, so I changed my appointment from French tip to just a plain color. I was not offered a discount for my wait, and was also charged $20 more for the change from French to solid.
