Then I reserved a car with SIXT, only to find out they didn't have any in stock that I could use. With less than an hour to get to Frankfurt to pick up my family on their flight, I was starting to panic. That's when I called Michelle at Hertz Ramstein. From the moment I explained my situation, she went above and beyond to help. She searched for anything I could use, found an available vehicle that fit my needs, and had it ready for me before I got there. Michelle didn't just "get me a car"--she genuinely cared about making sure I got that days situation under control. Because of Michelle, I was able to pick my family up on time. Do not use this hertz! I submitted a reservation on line for a mid size vehicle. I got to their…read morelocation on base and they had no mid size cars available and offered me a pick-up truck, as a result i asked them to cancel my reservation and i would go elsewhere. Instead of canceling my reservation they charged my card the rental amount anyway. When i called to request a refund they first couldn't find a reservation under my name even though i provided my information. Then they hung up on me...i called back and was told i needed to come in the office because they didnt show where my card was ever charged. The manager is clueless and always calls on her subordinates for help....if i could give this place 0 stars i most definitely would. Worst customer service ever!!! Never again! Go to sixt on base!!!

Was told the daily rate is 50€/day. No big deal. Decided to keep the same car for an additional week at 350€ (50€/day), but brought it back three days early. Was told AFTER closing out the deal that the new cost is 80€/day, or 320€ total. When I told the guy I would've just kept the car for the remaining three days, he actually tried to rent me another car for 180€!!!! Seriously bad customer service... zero common sense. No more business from me.

I have had multiple…read morequestionable experiences there including most recently making a reservation for a compact SUV (VW T-Roc or similar) with automatic transmission for a 8-day family vacation. When I arrived on Saturday, 12 April 2025, at the appointment time to pick up the vehicle, I was told they didn't have a vehicle matching the reservation and only had a single automatic vehicle on their whole premises - a VW Passat sedan/station wagon/limousine vehicle low-sitting vehicle. When I said this is not the vehicle type that I reserved and absolutely wouldn't work for me for the 8 day planned family vacation--and wouldn't even fit in my garage--I was told something like, oh well, that is all we have, we always have inventory problems. I asked if a manager or another location could be called to find another vehicle but was told there was nobody that could be called. Really? Nobody in the whole Enterprise company can be called on a Saturday? Only when I pressed, was I offered an SUV type vehicle that was supposed to be returned 2 hours later (when the office was closing on a Saturday and wouldn't even be open Sunday). I didn't think that was a good idea, what if the customer didn't show up on time and how would they clean and check the vehicle before I was to take it? Did they just want me to take a dirty, unprepared vehicle for 8 days? Worse yet, I'd end up with nothing and then there would be no way for me to get a rental at all since all rental offices nearby are closed on Sundays. It was a weird offer. I thought about it (because I really needed the car for a planned vacation!) but ultimately declined. I asked for my reservation to be cancelled and refunded (it was prepaid) and was told yes, but that another department would have to process the refund. I went next door to Europcar and was able to rent a compact SUV automatic vehicle on-the-spot, with NO reservation in under 10 minutes! This saved my vacation! In comparison to Enterprise who couldn't even be bothered to get a vehicle for an advanced reservation that they themselves confirmed. To top it off, Enterprise sent me an email 3 hours later (cc'ing 3 different managers) saying that they wouldn't refund me because I'd been offered the VW Passat. What? First of all, where were these people 3 hours earlier when I asked for a manager to be contacted and was told no one was available to contact? Now they are available to tell me they are trying to rip me off 400 Euro of a prepaid reservation that they did not fill? Note, this seems to be an Enterprise management issue and not the fault of the front desk employees that they put into such situations. I responded that this is not acceptable for all the reasons stated above. Even the Enterprise.de website, in its own words, states that the VW Passat is a Standard Auto/Kombi Class and is not in their SUV Class. I called my credit card company of the card used to do the reservation and opened a dispute. The credit card company refunded me the money immediately after I explained the situation and said they would pursue Enterprise themselves. Lessons learned: --Enterprise in Kaiserslautern is not organized - as if this big company doesn't have enough cars to find an automatic SUV type (with advanced notice)! --Don't prepay. --Don't let Enterprise's poor management practices mess with you, go to straight to the credit card company. I've read other similar reviews of this Enterprise office that they have done other similar bait-and-switch type tactics.

My husband's sponsor said we were going to be waiting at least 45 min-1 hour just to get the car but we scheduled the pickup at 0730 (when they opened) and drove out the lot at 0756. I thought that with the language barrier it would be difficult, but it really wasn't. They all speak english very well, they're courteous, friendly and sweet. The only reason why I didn't give them 5 stars was because we needed them to complete a form but the salesman forgot. It's okay, just a little hiccup. I still think this rental car place is awesome!

The biggest issue I had was the…read morelanguage barrier - I was lucky that Daniel spoke great English and was able to help me through everything. I did my test drive and so then we sat down to design my car. If you're new to Germany, be warned that you don't typically drive off the lot same day - if you're getting a new car you will typically need to spec out and design your car. So we did the design and negotiated the price and my order was in. I then needed help being walked through the intimidating (but I'm the end not too complicated) process of getting insurance, registering my car and then going to the factory to pick up my vehicle! My car was delayed because of COVID, which was a bummer but it was nice that I was able to get it before the country shut down! Since getting the car, Daniel has been really responsive in answering any questions I had. The only minor concern I had is that none of the paperwork was in English, so I constantly had to use a translating app or Daniel so I knew what I was signing. Still, I might just be an Audi owner for life now!
