A few of the other places wanted me to write a check quickly. It never felt like that with Jerry and his team. They arrived at the scheduled time, listened, and provided a reasonable estimate. I chose them because of that positive experience. They did the work, no surprises and provided some opinions about insurance coverage and working with my policy. Overall, a quality experience at a reasonable value. That is everything I want in a service.

Mary said that she will not charge us for that service call and would look forward to us using them in the future. I am pleased to report that I am having the toilets replaced tomorrow by one Tom plumber! I called this morning and a service call was immediately scheduled for tomorrow. I couldn't be more pleased with Mary and her stance on providing Service beyond what would normally be expected!

I have even offered proactively to pay extra for work additional unplanned work. I do, however, expect simple and professional communication when things do not go as planned. Four working adults waited through two separate 4-hour service windows in the same day. No one arrived during the first window, so we rearranged our schedules to accommodate a second. They didn't show up again. Worse, they clearly never intended to--and never notified us. I had to initiate a call myself and spend 20 minutes on hold just to find out what was going on. Completely unprofessional and a huge waste of our time. I suspect Roto-Rooter schedules appointments but only honors them when it's convenient. My advice to other customers: treat Roto-Rooter the same way--schedule them as a backup and line up other providers in the interim.

The damage was extensive and work began with initial recovery services - starting literally within hours after the tree fell in the wee hours of a Sunday morning. The crew didn't leave until the house was secured with bracing and temporary roof repairs, and blowers and dehumidifiers were in place to begin mitigation of the damage. Repairs needed included new roofing, new skylights, ceiling and wall drywall repairs, and painting. Matt and Todd at GS Jones made sure that we had the best people available for each part of the work, and never quit until we were satisfied. The job finished up with the cleaning of wall-to-wall wool carpeting, custom window treatments, and oriental rugs. Once again, GS Jones used the best people in the city to get all of the cleaning done. Our insurance company told us from the beginning that we were in good hands with GS Jones - and they were absolutely right. I highly recommend GS Jones for their prompt and comprehensive response to our very difficult situation.

The owner herself, Diane, came out last week for a call we made about a small water issue. She was able to quickly let us know what needed to be done. Knowing that we didn't have a lot of time before the water made matters worse, she helped us get our basement dry fast.

That price seemed high to me, so I decided to get a second opinion and ultimately tackled it myself. The replacement part cost me $42.92 from Home Depot and took about 10 minutes to complete. I understand companies have labor, overhead, and service costs, but based on my experience, the quote felt significantly higher than what I believed was reasonable for this repair. My advice to others: get multiple quotes and do your homework before moving forward with repairs. There is absolutely no way that a company can justify nearly a 10.5 cost increase and quote a job at 3 hours that took 10 minutes of my time.
