I had a skylight replaced and a new sun tunnel installed. They also replaced some pipe boots on the roof. The estimate was competitive so I went with this company. The installation was done well. The guys were careful with everything and cleaned up well. They had to come back because of rain interrupting the task. PSA: The Big Fish Contracting Company of Pittsburgh is the worst company I have ever dealt with and 6 months later we still have a hole in our ceiling and they're still refusing to fix their mistakes. We've paid them over $13,000 and we're going to be out an additional $2000 because of this absolutely ridiculous situation. -10298471941/10 WILL NEVER RECOMMEND. RUN AWAY AS FAST AS YOU CAN. Here's a quick rundown of just SOME of the things we have gone through SINCE OCTOBER: - Extremely poor communication, they did not do the job in the way that was described to me and that was my fault, of course. - Gaco (silicone) application on our metal roofing was done so poorly that I could see the old roof with my own untrained eyes, even though I was told it would have multiple layers and the thickness of a quarter. When someone came to "fix" it, they dripped the black silicone onto my porch and stairs. Still there btw. - Left visible starter shingles, exposed nails, and only did dormer step flashing on the spots visible from the street. The ones that were not able to be seen from the street were not done, and we would have never known if our contractor hadn't gone onto the roof. - Roofers completely damaged window framing we had just completed by a different contractor just weeks prior to their arrival (not included in the $14k+ accounted for above), causing an active water leak that then leaked into our interior ceiling and caused damage. - Verbally approved to have our contractor come do an emergency repair only to NEVER pay him for the work. - When they came back to "fix" the window again, they left trash all over my roof and yard - no walkthrough done or any communication with me whatsoever. - Surprise! They still didn't fix it. They have now come back on multiple occasions to "fix" the situation while continuing to leave HOLES in my house. - They have accepted fault on MULTIPLE occasions, yet are continuing to refuse to fix the situation. - Spoke to me with complete disrespect (maybe because I'm a woman? IDK) and called me a liar saying that there was no way there could have been a leak because they checked the past weather and they didn't see rain in the forecast. - Bullying and unreceptive attitude towards any and all concerns, and then not calling back or responding to us when they said they would. - Eventually, we had to have our contractor come back AGAIN to stop the active leak as they were unable to do so in the AT LEAST 5 visits they made. - Our project manager offered to do the interior work FOR FREE, but Big Fish will not allow him to do so. AGAIN, this has been going on since OCTOBER and it is still not resolved and we are $2000 in debt from the repairs. read more

Let's put it this way, I hardly ever write a Yelp review, but I was so happy with Big Fish that I wanted to share the experience. I do most of the work on my house myself, and have had some bad experiences when I have hired someone to either save my time, or my back, so I am a little wary bringing in a contractor, but this job was too high up and too big for me. Big Fish delivered! They came out when they said they would, communicated with me very well and there was always someone on the other end of the phone when I called. Tommy, the site manager, was very friendly and clearly explained what they were doing and the entire process. I did not even have to get up on the roof afterwards to inspect the job as they photo documented everything along the way. I knew about some bad spots, they found them all and then some, showing me images of the rotted wood and how they replaced it. Even the clean up was great. I did a walk around this morning and barely found anything to pickup. Not one nail in the driveway. I have a feeling this roof will outlast me, but if I ever do need it redone, I'll definitely hire them again! read more

Time for a reality check for these fake reviews. I had several roofers give me quotes but went with Big Fish. (Big lie) HUGE mistake! Met with Ed Brown, one of the owners, and was told they don't do flat roofs but would seal and repair all seams and would no longer leak. THE BIG LIE. It WASN'T REPAIRED! The new roof replacement was completed on October 3rd. There was a heavy rainfall on October 12th, which resulted in a massive leak in my office causing ceiling tile to fall and severe water damage to the carpet. Big Fish contracting denied that they said they would seal the roof off so that it would no longer leak. In addition to inferior work, they left the place a mess. Tar paper, staples, shingles and roofing nails scattered around the house and in the bushes. In addition, my internet cable line was pulled down and is now hanging loose. Had to hire a second roofer to correct their mess. These people are not to be trusted. Consider this a Warning! I strongly warn potential customers to beware. We used Big Fish Roofing to replace the roof on two recently purchased rental properties. The process was completely remote with them using drones to evaluate what needed to be done for the estimate. On the day the new roof was installed we were able to watch the progress via the drone and specifically requested seeing specific areas that were repaired and found this hugely helpful. Prior experience with roofers was not positive with complaints by property owners with adjacent properties and poor cleanup with roof nails everywhere. This did not happen with Big Fish, thorough clean up, no neighbor complaints and roofs that are no longer leaking. Online payment process was efficient and simple to use. My condo association uses the company and I was very pleased to have them take care of my downspout issue. I had excellent customer service with Laura as we worked out the problem and how Big Fish would take care of things. She communicated with me thoughout the process and kept me informed. David came to do the work which he did very professionally and personally. He explained the problem simply and clearly. The downspout issue was resolved and he assured me that if there were any problems I should contact him personally.
