I just moved and needed water service to be put in my name. I had a hard time switching the water…read moreservice in my name when I called told to fill out application and contact my landlord to help. Nobody seemed to know what to do. Finally I found I could email water billing and did just that. Definitely more responsive that way. Was told to read the meter which my meter of course was not where it normally is by the laundry, so I had to go in crawl space to get the meter reading. Gave that and noticed my water was not working. Found the water turned off due to old tenant not paying the bill. Really I just moved in and switched to my name and now they turn it off! They were closing in a half hour and nobody could stay later I guess, so my landlord could not pay this bill until the next day. Being without water or unable to flush the toilet is just gross. I was really disappointed in how this was handled. They should have left the water on until notifying me or landlord prior to turning it off as there was no notice given. They could have left it on for the day since I just moved in and then the next day make sure the old bill was paid and go from there. Frustrating and glad that is over with, hopefully no other issues arise with water.
