The Estate at Eagle Lake - Love swing!

    The Estate at Eagle Lake

(I'll update my review and add pictures once we get our sneak peek gallery from our photographer…read morethis Saturday!) You know how people talk about that moment you put on a wedding dress, see yourself in the mirror, then think "this is the one"? That's how we felt with Estate at Eagle Lake from the moment we saw it in person! My husband Carlo and I got married at Estate at Eagle Lake on 7/22/2023 and we can't say enough amazing things about the venue and its staff! A huge and extra special shout-out to Brianna - the venue director, day-of coordinator, and for-hire wedding planner! She made our planning process and our actual wedding day absolutely seamless and perfect. She was even so thoughtful in making sure our other vendors were well taken care of and hydrated on our wedding day. We were really trying to "ball on a budget" and we were amazed and thankful with how much we were able to plan our day based on our budget here. Catering and alcohol are separate costs from the venue, so we were able to choose an amazing caterer within our budget from their preferred vendor list and we were able to do a "beer, wine, and signature cocktails" bar instead of a full open bar to save more money. Eagle Lake also includes so many AMAZING amenities in such an affordable cost: - The ENTIRE venue for your event from 7 AM - 11 PM - SO MANY PHOTO OP LOCATIONS including the love swing, sandy beach area with Adirondack chairs and a firepit in the evening, lakeside deck, cobblestone paths, rooftop area overlooking the lake, and plenty of grassy areas with beautiful flower blooms all over - Stadium seating for a lakeside ceremony that is livestreamed by the venue if requested. We opted to do the livestream so that our family in other states and overseas could watch! - Tented reception area with air conditioners and fans (the air conditioners are new as the owner Scott is always looking to make the venue better and more comfortable for all who come!) - Romantic rooftop area for cocktail hour complete with a shaded gazebo, little basketball hoops, and koi pond - A gorgeous bridal suite with 3 full salon setups - A very cool groom's suite with a pool table upstairs that the groom and groomsmen can use while they're "getting ready" - Indoor chapel and cocktail hour space for inclement weather - Photo booth which delivers photos digitally (no print outs) - Golf carts with attendants available to drive you around the venue As if my description isn't dreamy and too-good-to-be-true enough for you to book your next event here, you have to check the website for pictures and book a tour the venue yourself to see its true beauty! Our wedding truly wouldn't have been as magical if it were anywhere other than Estate at Eagle Lake. It's truly a hidden gem. We received SO many compliments from our wedding guests and I even got some inquiries about the venue from future brides looking for a wedding venue after I was tagged by some of our guests in Facebook pictures! If Carlo and I ever plan another big event, we'll absolutely come back to Estate at Eagle Lake with no hesitation and I'd highly recommend it to anyone looking to book a special event :) TIP #1: For those who plan an event here, be sure to tell your guests of the pebble paths and grass so they can wear appropriate footwear. TIP #2: If you haven't booked here yet but are interested, go to an open house so that you can meet some of the preferred vendors and potentially get a discount from them!

Scott, the owner-operator is hands on, passionate about the property, and provides great service to clients, guests, and wedding vendors alike. As a DJ, I was delighted to have my booth located in a real-life bunker and adjacent to an extensive bridal suite that resembles a professional hair salon! Relatively new to the Central NJ wedding scene, couples should take a closer look at this amazing and unique property.

Everything was clean, organized, and family-friendly (including the bathrooms, which as parents we definitely appreciate!). The owners and staff were incredibly friendly, helpful, and genuinely seemed to love what they do. Our kids had an absolute blast picking fresh strawberries, meeting the animals, and riding on the tractor, which ended up being one of the highlights of the day! The market was another pleasant surprise, full of fun snacks, treats, and unique items to browse. This place offers so much more than just fruit picking. It really feels like a full family experience. We'll definitely be back and would highly recommend it to any family looking for a fun, well-run day outdoors!

Tip: Buy your entry tickets online -- it's cheaper than getting them at the gate! This place runs on a "park-and-pick" setup, meaning you'll drive to different spots around the farm for each activity. Apple picking is by bag size, not by the pound -- the smallest bag was $7.50 and fit about 10-12 apples. It was hot the day we went, so we stuck to apple picking and cooled off at the marketplace afterward (skipped the maze and sunflowers). The cider and donuts were just okay compared to other farms I've been to, but the apple cider slush? Totally addictive (even if it's $9 -- ouch). Once the sun eased up later in the afternoon, we stopped by to see the goats and chickens and hopped on the hay ride -- the perfect cozy ending to the day.

I can't remember the last time we all sat down for a meal together. The outdoor space was relaxing. The addition of a new blackstone griddle in the back made cooking up big breakfasts fast and easy. The proximity to the beach made trips back and forth to from the house to take a toddler to the bathroom, fix lunch, or run back to grab something quick made for a stress free week. The hosts were incredibly accommodating even though we hardly ever saw them. I would stay there again in a heartbeat.

Our family reunion vacation week for our mother's 80th Birthday at Tom and Mary Ann's house was…read morenothing short of fantastic! The weather was great..even with the complimentary downpour day to let the skin come off sizzle mode..just perfect. We were a large family group... family coming in from NY, NM, Ca and Germany. We pushed the limits in space but with the backyard patio area, rooftop hot tub soaking deck (special accolades to that), the ocean so close and so many places you could walk, bike, paddle to we never at all came to in your face situations... which we all know with family is usually inevitable. We wanted to do something special for our Mom (Omi) for her birthday so we took Mary Ann and Tom's referral and hired the caterer that they suggested... we did a luau theme and they came to the house with the pig roast complete with Hawaiian veges and salads. I for one was amazed that we actually surprised her but I do believe we really pulled it off. We were initially hesitant to rent because of landowners sharing the same house..but we started our search late and there weren't many options to accommodate our large group so we took the chance. Couldn't have been any farther from the fears we had to reality. Always friendly and helpful.. never intrusive or controlling. By the time we left it felt like we were leaving old friends.... the hot donuts Mary Ann brought us from an old time LBI donut shop, the morning before we left sealed the deal! Our family grew up summers in LBI..staying with friends that owned and/or our family renting for weeks at a time. I think I can speak for our family in saying we came home that week. A wonderful magical place in our memories. Lucky me got to share it with my granddaughter while my Mom (Omi) is still with us and oh so big a center of our family. 4 generations of LBI addicts.... what better place to enjoy family!

Can you tell which are statues?…read more Years ago I went to Grounds For Sculpture, a 42 acre outdoor and indoor art exhibit with gorgeous gardens and every type of art you can learn and imagine. My boys were too young to appreciate it back then. This time we did it differently. Prior to going, we did a lesson on different types of art. We created slides to help teach us different types of art. I have included the slides so you can share these to your kids as an art lesson. While we were at the Grounds For Sculpture, I have to tell you... the way the Realism Art, Pop Art, and Abstract Impression Art Blended with its natural surroundings, my eyes began to play tricks on me! For a split second, regular people sitting on a bench looked like statues too! It's very well done! This place creates a dream like state. Go to the Meadow section first! It's a lot of walking so don't go on a hot day. #groundsforsculpture #nj #art

This may sound overly exuberant, but I love this place!…read more Founded in 1992 by J. Seward Johnson (a Johnson & Johnson heir) his goal was to build a contemporary sculpture garden for the public to enjoy. The property was initially the site of the Jersey fairgrounds and later the Trenton Speedway. (It's so peaceful and lovely here, it's hard to imagine the raucous noise of racecars.) We signed up for a walking tour -- free with the price of admission -- which runs for about an hour. In addition, friendly docents walking around the grounds stopped to chat offering great information -- even some juicy gossip! Be sure to pull up the app on your phone which we found helpful. The garden is closed Tuesday. One of the sites said admission is timed, but mid-week we were able to simply show up. Note that veterans and seniors pay reduced admission. Parking is free and there's a restaurant/coffee shop in the welcome center that's an inviting place to refuel. The photos I snapped are the garden's realistic representations, but there's a whole host of contemporary sculpture, all very different with their own stories.
