The collection includes an excellent collection of Indigenous American pottery from thousands of years ago to more recent history. There are cowboy artifacts, American Indian artifacts, lots of pictures and articles from local towns over the years. Then, of course, there is an entire room dedicated to The Name Change history and Ralph Edwards - the host of Truth or Consequences. It can take an hour or more depending on how in-depth you want to get with everything available. A mere $6 to get in as of 05/25, and worth it.

It's nestled between two canyons and on a hot day (106) in El Paso it was a cooler get away. The curator Linda is a great storyteller telling you all about the items in the town and the museum. Great for families, car clubs and a motorcycle run. The turn off from I-25 is so scenic and peaceful. No cell reception until you are about 5 miles out of the town of Cholride. The have cabins and RV parking to stay the night. If you have a 4x4 this is a must!! The trail out of the other side town is 38 miles to the Gilas and crosses the creek 118 times. And since it's in the the Gil's national forest you can camp out. Pictographs and old mine ruins are found on this scenic 4x4 scenic trail

Maybe because I am a combat veteran I feel more emotionally invested in any Veterans Park or museum, but I encourage everyone to take a little time every now and then to remember why our country is what it is today. The museum here is small but packed full of uniforms and individual's personal history from all major wars and conflicts. The park outside has a replica Vietnam Veterans Wall. There was enough parking in the area and a park just a few blocks up. The location is open from 12pm-5pm Wednesday-Sunday or by appointment, so we were pretty happy it was open when we arrived. The owner was very nice and one of the artists was there as well so we talked for a bit about his work too. There were so many styles of art, especially southwest. It was pretty cool (both literally and figuratively as it was kind of chilly). If you enjoy art, or know someone who does, this is definitely a great place to check out.

They grow a few varietals of grapes on the estate and the locals love the place too. They're passionate about the craft and are more than happy to chat about it on the patio or inside the cute little place. We will stop by every time we head down that way.
