Her stories of growing up in the Gullah Geechee community on Daufuski and being taught by Conroy were amazing. It was like having the book come alive for 3 hours. My experience in dealing with their front of house reception has likewise been unflattering to this organization. The person was quite aloof if not rude when I asked if I could speak with the person who handles rentals for the venue. She wouldn't even give a name! Nobody is that important.
