The hostess was extremely friendly and she appeared to be very knowledgeable about the plans and how to take care of them. Not only did we get to make our own planter, but we also got to check out a new brewery or 'new to us' as We both had never been to Round Town brewery. The tender there was very courteous and offered samples and even suggested a really good mixture of their beers. For the actual event, it's pretty low-key and casual. You walk in and make sure you find whoever is hosting it so you can check in. Then you find the class that you want and sit there. Whomever is leading the event will walk you through every step of the way and answer any questions you have. The only thing that I felt was a little bit misleading about this event was that you pay for admission and then you also have to pay for a supplies fee on top of that. I feel like it would just be so much easier if you just clumped it all into one free.

I like the variety of their pictures as well as the location of their events. They travel to various restaurants to use as venues. Two of my visits have been to the Hard Rock Cafe downtown Indianapolis and one to the Spaghetti Factory since that is fairly close to my home. The restaurant staff tends to be very friendly and you get your choice of the entire menu and bar. So lots of variety, a big plus... but you also need to tip, a little downside... well I do tend to spend way too much on food and drink always... Generally the event is set up in a smaller private room, this way we can paint and follow the instructor without the usual restaurant/bar noises, which is a good thing. The instructors/artists tend to be funny or at least try... there are just so many jokes you can make and so if you go more often, you'll hear the same jokes again. They also try to entertain you with silly games while you wait for your paint to dry, because we all know, just watching the paint dry is not a highly rated activity. So far they have always been helpful if you need more paint, towels, help with the picture, repeat instructions cause you were running your mouth and not paying attention... And let's just mention that you really truly do NOT need any talent in order to paint a picture once the artists break it down for you into little easy to follow steps. And generally there are some discount codes flying around, I found a Groupon for my session and you can win a free event sometimes, and generally they give you a discount code to use for your next event.. that's how they keep you coming back ... a fun experience, a cool picture to brag with and a discount code...

It is upstairs so those unable to climb stairs may not be able to participate. It was 9 holes of black light ,dark, dinosaur themed fun. You can tell that it's a little outdated as there were lots of pieces broke and the air was one of them, so hot!! We then went into the bar for some drinks to cool down and a couple appetizers. Pretzel bites with nacho cheese and fried pickles. Both were good. The pretzel bites were so greasy that the cheese kept sliding off though. In the area they have axe throwing and table top connect four. Then we bowled. $50/hour/lane. That was a lot of fun! There are robots who bring your food to your lanes - all while jamming to the beach boys surfing USA - which was neat and terrifying at the same time, ha! They have an arcade but we didn't try that out. Plenty of parking and restrooms. Would recommend!

The owners recently moved into a storefront just south of the courthouse - and in fact, already moved one store over to have more space to expand! After I retired in 2023, I decided to work here in the Education Department part-time (2-3 days a week.) I specialize in several exhibits. I've seen the evolution since 1998 when I came here with my son. Now, we visit with my teenage grandson! There's a foam pit to jump in, a 4-story treehouse with a 30-foot suspension bridge to explore, and SO much more. The website has all the info. You may love it so much you join them too. There is so much to see and do at Conner Prairie. We arrived early for the 10:00 am opening. We started outside exploring the Lenape Camp, the William Conner House and Prairietown. We watched goats being milked and learned about beading. Not only were the kids captivated, but I was as well. The staff is wonderfully friendly, knowledgeable, engaging and helpful. We took a break for lunch before heading to the Treetop Outpost. The Treehouse is an area for kids to play and explore. The kids played for about 30 minutes while I rested on a bench. In the afternoon, when it was getting hot outside, we returned to enjoy the museum. The Food exhibit is interesting. We found a couple of hands-on exhibits which were fun and educational. The upstairs food immersion experience was a bit confusing. Upstairs, we enjoyed learning about the creation of the White River. The kids loved the Wellspring center where they could kick back and play in the foam pit. They spent an hour exploring the little nooks and seeing all the artifacts embedded in the walls. They played in the Spark Lab for a bit and appreciated a chance to sit and play. I haven't been to Conner Prairie in many years and I was impressed with all the new things to see and learn about. The kids were disappointed that the balloon was closed for maintenance. A balloon ride would have been the icing on the cake. That said, we still had a five star day and a great bonding experience. We spent a total of 5 hours and didn't see everything, but we were pooped. Pro tip: wear bug spray, sunglasses, sunscreen and comfy walking shoes. Bring bottled water. We brought a lunch, but you can buy sandwiches and drinks at reasonable prices at any of the three on-site cafes. Restrooms are far between, so plan your breaks when nearby. The trails are gravel and some of the prairie homes are not fully accessible. Designated stroller parking is available. I'm looking forward to going back in the fall to explore the trails and see the trees changing color.

Hundreds of street vendors set up booths on US 40, State Rd 9 and several surrounding streets. You'll find lots of arts / crafts, holiday decor, candles, woodwork, metalwork, cookware, clothing, scarves, house decor, purses, bedding, hats / sunglasses, toys, and candy. In addition to the product vendors there are probably 30-40 food options - mostly fair food style trucks. If you've ever been to Riley Days you know the shish-ka-bobs in front of the courthouse lawn will have a long line but are worth the wait! I also love the Papageorge Gyro truck, BBQ options, and don't forget the banana split elephant ears or pineapple whip ice cream. There is also live entertainment on the south side of the Courthouse lawn in a gazebo and across the street from there an additional entertainment tent is set up. You'll find everything from singing, dancing, clogging, fashion shows, a kids beauty pageant, and live bands. Also there is a large kids area with several blown up bouncy houses, fair style games, and face painting. On Friday morning the local elementary schools host the Parade of Flowers where kids line up and place flowers on the statue of Riley in town ( half endearing, half creepy in my opinion ) but tradition none the less. Saturday morning is another parade with local businesses and a Queen from the local high school being crowned. Come check all this action out! Parking can be a tad hectic but mostly free. Check the surrounding side streets of South and North but $5-$10 pay parking is available in a few places as well.
