A side of shrimp could be had for an extra $3. Adult beverages were extra, and the adjacent bar took good care of us. Yes, the prices are a little more expensive than 3 years ago, but our meals were still a heck of a deal. We sat in a corner outside the main dining room, and were well served by the welcoming volunteer staff. And all our food was really good! I advised Dad that if he ever gets bored during the week, that he should just come down here and take a seat at the bar. Otherwise, I'm sure Dad will be back, and most probably for another steak night organized by me or maybe one of my siblings.

Sat there another 5 minutes without being acknowledged by the bartender. Finally a woman said she'd be right with us. Ten minutes later I asked the bartender if this is where you go to get a drink and he said it was but then walked away. It was a bizarre experience to say the least. We were there 15-20 minutes and finally left and went to Christopher's. It wasn't that busy either. We got there right around 5:30.

And the crowds here indicate that. The legion will serve between 200-250 in the two hours they are serving. Word is around town that this is the best example of this dish you are going to find and for $7 bucks I'd encourage anyone to put it to the test. You'll get all-you-can-eat kumla dumplings and shredded ham, canned green beans, roll and apple sauce. It's the hearty meal that built this town in central Iowa. Well worth a visit to try this Scandinavian oddity. As per my previous review, there's still a comfortable full-service bar in the basement of this place and it's open to the public. With multiple layers on the performance area they allow many parts to be played out in different ways for the audience while maintaining separation for the locations. The seating is rather hard and tightly spaced which can be a bit uncomfortable if the show lasts over an hour and has no intermission. I thought their ability to use such a space in such a great way was terrific. The lights and sound worked really well.

Refreshments were on point, great beer selection that rivals a tap room even though it's just in support of the theater. Great facility overall, small enough that there really isn't a bad seat in the house. Bathrooms and other amenities were clean and well kept.
