we went on 10/30/25:…read more We were running a little late, but when we walked into the room, the energy was off -- the people didn't seem friendly, and no one offered to help. I wasn't sure where to buy a package, and when I finally found the right place, the man handing them out was very discouraging. He mentioned there were only a few games left out of 28 and seemed reluctant to sell me a package. I told him that was fine -- I still wanted to buy one just to enjoy the experience. My friends arrived a little later, and he refused to sell them a package. They came over to wait with me since I had already purchased mine. One of my friends was allowed to stay, but when the other arrived, they told us she had to leave -- and the way they approached us was very rude and made us feel uncomfortable. At that point, I didn't even feel like staying to finish my games. I ended up giving my $25 package to a kind lady who was helping me understand how bingo worked since I'm new to it. We were just trying to have a fun girls' night out, but instead, we basically got kicked out and treated poorly. To make matters worse, when we asked for the name of the woman who told us to leave, she refused to give it, and they were talking about us as we were leaving. It was an unprofessional and disappointing experience. I would not recommend this place.

Vets are probably better of with Polk County VSO's as reps though I can't say they are sterling as well.

I really enjoy the space in this theater. It brings the show right up and close to the audience…read more In spite of the smaller scope they have a great setup. With multiple layers on the performance area they allow many parts to be played out in different ways for the audience while maintaining separation for the locations. The seating is rather hard and tightly spaced which can be a bit uncomfortable if the show lasts over an hour and has no intermission. I thought their ability to use such a space in such a great way was terrific. The lights and sound worked really well.

Refreshments were on point, great beer selection that rivals a tap room even though it's just in support of the theater. Great facility overall, small enough that there really isn't a bad seat in the house. Bathrooms and other amenities were clean and well kept. Definitely looking forward to a return trip the next time I am in Des Moines! If you haven't checked out the Chow Down, you must go!!!
