Can't think of a better way to spend Memorial Day than a pig roast at the Gary, IN American Legion…read more I wasn't sure if we'd get in since there's a giant sign on the door that says MEMBERS ONLY, but our buddy said ignore it. OK, we ignored it and walked right in. We were met with friendly smiles and the smell of roasted pig. Yum! We paid our $7 and grabbed a plate and a beer. The food was pot-luck style and delicious. Pork, turkey, chicken, noodles, all kinds of sides & desserts. Bottles of Bud Lite are $2 and we even saw a cute bulldog at the bar. You gotta love seeing pooches in a divey bar! After eating in the outdoor beer garden, we shot the breeze with the Vets and thanked them for their service. A nice afternoon all around.

I went to the Moose Lodge last evening with family members. I had forgotten it was for a Halloween…read moreparty with costumes, food and music. I really enjoyed the evening, the food was great, people who dressed up in costumes were fabulous, and the music by the young members in the band was fantastic. My family members who had never been there, enjoyed it also. Great job by everyone involved.
