I'm a retired public school teacher and I wanted to try to match the insurance I had in cA as a teacher. With his help I enrolled in a Medicare Supplemental plan with Anthem and then in a Medicare plan with a Humana prescription plan. This took into account my tiny budget and types of meds I use. I felt I had someone really experienced who accommodated my needs very thoughtfully and we got things done. Our HVAC business was evaluating costs, and our existing worker's comp policy with Coastal States…read morewas higher than several other quotes. Once we notified Coastal that we were planning to switch, they called numerous times but could never offer better pricing. Then they apparently refused to notify State Fund that we were switching to another insurer, resulting in us being double-billed by both old and new insurers, and FURTHER refusing to cooperate with us in dealing with State Fund to get a refund, being very snotty on the phone and effectively hanging up on our office manager. Do yourself a favor and avoid this broker.

After my one accident, Irene and staff went to bat for us and not only got us high blue book payment for my totalled Toyota (within 9 days), they also got the other driver's insurance to reimburse our deductible. Just last night I received a notice that my long term care insurance premium was going up significantly (+$50 per month). Since this was the 1st increase since we purchased the policy in 2009, we really thought that we'd locked in a "no increase" policy. Since the rate increase was based out of California (where she wrote the policy), we emailed her about our recollection of the terms. She emailed us back immediately explaining the increase. DID I MENTION THAT THIS WAS ALMOST MIDNIGHT ON A MONDAY NIGHT? DID I MENTION THAT WE AREN'T EVEN HER CLIENT ANY LONGER? It didn't mitigate the sting of the increase, but at least our questions were answered and we weren't left to obsess about it until 09:00 today. We still have State Farm for our insurance needs, and our Washington agent is average (actually his *staf*f is average...I've only met the agent once in 6 years). Irene spoiled us, and hers is still the guidance we seek and trust. We'd been with her so long (even though she can no longer legally be our agent) that we think of her as family. You will be treated like a criminal with their repeated use of hack doctors, who they pay highly, to say that your 1000 fine although having suffered a catastrophic injury. Be sure to retain an attorney to assist you because State Fund is horrible.
