From the very first interaction, it was clear that Aspire Taekwondo is built on heart, integrity,…read moreand a genuine commitment to kids and families. The instructors don't just teach Taekwondo -- they teach confidence, discipline, respect, and perseverance in a way that kids actually connect with. My son absolutely loves training here. The instructors are patient, encouraging, and incredibly intentional about meeting kids where they are while still holding high expectations. You can tell they truly care about each child's growth, both on and off the mat. The structure, positivity, and sense of belonging Aspire provides has made a huge impact on our family. What truly sets Aspire apart, though, is their compassion. During a difficult season for our family, they went above and beyond to make sure my child didn't have to miss out on something he loves due to circumstances outside our control. That level of understanding and humanity is rare -- and it speaks volumes about the leadership behind Aspire. If you're looking for a Taekwondo school that prioritizes character, community, and kids first -- Aspire Taekwondo is it. We feel incredibly grateful to be part of such a supportive and inspiring environment. Highly recommend to any family considering martial arts for their child.

I LOVE THE LOADING DOCK!…read more Zach has build an amazing gym community in Grand Rapids. Classes are a bit pricy but I won't mind paying because of the energy and attention you receive from the coaches here. Class are CrossFit inspired in the movements and structure, but they are not a CrossFit gym. Every movement is coached on so even if you're new to working out, the class is accessible because modifications are given. They also recently started a new class here as well: sweat 30. That's a class designed for people who want to get in a beginner friendly work out in under an hour.

If you are working on gaining strength, losing weight, maintaining or just want to remain mobile, there is a spot for you. I should also mention that TLD has the resources to support injuries as well. The facilities are always clean, well organized and there is plenty of free parking around the building. The owner and coaches put a lot of thought into their class structure. You are never fighting for weights or space to complete your workout. One of my favorite things about the gym is their consistency. I have been a member of a few gyms that offer group classes and the type of workout you receive is dependent on what time you go and the coach. At TLD, while the classes change daily, the workout for that day is the same. So if you go in the morning or evening you will receive the same workout. Also, even though their services are already exemplary, TLD is always looking for ways to improve and asks for feedback from its members. And last by certainty not least are the people. Being a bit of an introvert, I am still surprised by how welcoming & supportive not only the coaches are but the other members. I have found a home that I never knew I needed.

I purchased several day passes (granted it was years ago) so that I could work out at this facility…read morefrom time to time. I asked when these were purchased if there was an expiration date and was told there wasn't. There is no expiration date written on the passes either. I still have most of these passes in my possession. I went to use one last week and I was denied entry. The explanation that was provided to me was 1. We stopped accepting these over a year ago 2. We sent emails out to let people know a long time ago that we wouldn't be accepting them any longer (I'm not on their email list) 3. We can't tell if people are photocopying and faking these passes or not. (Wow, I feel like I'm being accused of forging $5 passes so I can sneak into the gym?, really?). What bothers me far more than the lost $100 or so in passes is the lack of empathy and understanding. The only reason I went to the gym last week was with a relative who is older (and a member) so I could help set them up with a workout routine in light of a recent medical diagnosis. They wouldn't even let me enter just this once without paying for a $10 day pass. I guess I'm sorry I didn't use these passes sooner? But no empathy and flexibility from the staff at Spring Lake Aquatic Center earns a thumbs down from me. I've spent almost my entire life (since I was two years old) living in and supporting the local tri-cities. Doesn't feel right for a local organization to take my money and deny the service I paid for.

The gym side of things is also top quality. There are weight machines, free weights, cardio machines, and indoor track, basketball court and more! In addition to xfit workouts, they also do a strength and conditioning program and soft tissue work. What I really like about this box is that they had an introductory class for the movements and getting to know people. In summary, it's a great learning environment and great facility as well. It deserves the five star rating. The coaches are approachable for advice and definitely qualified. I opted for this location to be my "home" gym since it's the closest to me, but after visiting a couple others, I'm not sure if I'm going to frequent this one as often. Given it's location of being downtown, the only option is to pay for street (metered) parking or use their parking ramp. The idea of paying for a gym membership and then paying for parking each time is a huge deterrent for me! It would make me not want to go nearly as much, however, that is only one part of the gym-going experience! It was very easy to find, and at 7am, it isn't as busy as other times of the day. I like that the app shows you the "crowd meter" but I'm realizing I don't fully understand how they gauge it. It showed that it was low but there was quite a few people around! And when I went to a different location, it showed "more people" but looked like it was completely empty. There are a lot of machines and an upstairs for cardio (and downstairs too), so there is always something you can do if you're waiting for anything in the strength training space. I liked the layout and everyone there was really respectful. Very clean too!

Well, I'm so happy for you because you finally found him! Ian is fantastic at keeping my training sessions upbeat, positive and relaxed. He helps me focus more of the crappier energy I have towards gyms on my workout/learning process in a more positive and engaged manner. Fitness training is tough work mentally and physically, so you can at least be guaranteed support in these departments of life with your time spent in the gym. Focusing more on my direct experience in session: it's chill and kind of fun now. I can lift weights in different positions and connect the why behind why I'd choose higher/lower weights for various exercises when I'm at the gym alone. I learned this from Ian. He shows you what to do, you follow, now you know! We overcomplicate too much on our own and my time with Ian is helping me develop my "gym identity". I can already tell leg days are a hit..
