Nothing. They need to close this supply center immediately. I recently visited the location in Gainesville and was told that if I wanted cpap supplies, I should contact them the supply office at 352-244-5200. So, why is this "joint" even open? I guess I will have to find another place to get my cpap supplies. I will notify Medicare and Blue Cross concerning this negative experience. I would like to receive a call from a supervisor to discuss this issue. Thank you, Sallie Roberts Gainesville, Fl 32653 352-339-0352 read more

Stay away from this company they are the most disorganized company I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. Between wrong supplies delivered to no supplies to double billing to poor customer service read more

I agree with Sallie R. They need to close. I placed a CPAP order last November and as yet have received NADA. They do not return calls, and basically are not at all helpful. I was promised over a month ago that they would resolve my issues and get back with me. They have not done so. If you need reliable service Avoid them! read more

I was referred by Dr. Greenberg for CPAP mask fitting and supplies. I gave all the requested insurance and medical information to intake person and was told everything was "set to go" for my appointment in 2-3 weeks. The DAY BEFORE my appointment, I was called and said additional information was needed from my primary care office. I am a physician and had to cut my day short for this appointment. There wasnNo apologies for my inconvenience or that of my patients. I asked that my records be forwarded to another medical supply company and they refused, stating that it was against "corporate policy". As a physician,I would not recommend any of my colleagues doing business with American Home Patient. read more

When I received my last BIPAP machine I was told that because of their "insurance" I could not leave with the BIPAP machine with out paying $137.+ change! I was forced to write a check for this amount and I was very upset. I had always been told that my Medicare equipment was at no cost to me. This continued to bother me, so I called and checked in with DURABLE MEDICAL EQUIPMENT section. They, indeed, said that I should not have been charged. I went back asking for a refund. They refused and they were rude about it. Apparently Medicare does not assist with getting money back. (I have no idea whom to consult...I have little income.) The money is still gone and I hate needing these robbers. I have waited month w/o a needed mask because they frighten me. This is really bad business taking needed funds from disabled patients. They need to be investigated! read more

My opinion is that you should think twice before utilizing this Durable Medical Equipment (DME) company. The CPAP mask I was fitted with by the respiratory therapist at this company caused serious excoriation, bleeding, redness, and became infected. As instructed when I picked up the CPAP machine and mask, I called the company on Monday morning at 9:30am to pass along the serious need for intervention. When you start CPAP, you get a 30 day guarantee where you are allowed to return your mask for another one. Because of this DME's awful service and lack of returning my phone call in anything close to a timely manner, I had to buy a mask from another store as I still needed to continue with therapy. I had to pay for this mask completely out of my pocket. Unfortunately, I didn't hear back from this company until 10:30am the next day, Tuesday. So, I brought the mask back to the office on Tuesday and expressed my serious disappointment with their terrible customer focused service and showed them my infected nose which looked absolutely terrible. I still have pictures of my nose. When I asked the Manager of the DME about why they didn't call me back quickly, the respiratory therapist interrupted our conversation and stated that "they were very busy on Monday with important people." I let her know that I may not be important to her but I was very, very important to myself. I asked her where I was on her importance list; was I number twenty? Number fifty? Number one hundred? And, was there any way to climb the list so I could, at a minimum, get moderate service. She replied the I should have e-mailed her as she checks her e-mails numerous times throughout the day. I reminded her that when I picked up the machine and mask from her, I was instructed by her to call the office if the mask caused problems. I suggested that she check her phone messages every now and then if she has that much time to go on-line, especially if she has a phone message that one of her patients who is excoriated, bleeding, concerned, and in pain. The Manager of the DME gave me a different mask from the display case. As I was leaving the store, the Manager felt the need to add that his store "tries to return all phone calls within 24 hours." I replied that I would let the home office in Tennessee know that he tries to return all calls within 24 hours. After I said this, he then added, "that's not what I said. I said we return all calls within 24 hours." I said, "If that is really the case, why didn't I get a return call within 24 hours?" He didn't even try to reply. My opinion is that the customer service is absolutely the worst I have run into in quite a while. When something goes wrong, instead of simply apologizing, they spin the issue and make the issue totally your fault. This is ridiculous and who needs this headache. I also wrote the head company in Tennessee regarding the issue. Keeping with their non-customer focused skills, they never replied to my correspondence. I would recommend staying away from this DME unless you enjoy headaches and being treated like you are second class. Buyer beware with these guys. read more

I was referred to American Home Patient for CPAP by my physician. When I arrived for my appointment the therapist had the CPAP ready and did a very thorough job of explaining CPAP therapy to me. CPAP has made a difference for me, I no longer get tired during the day, and get a more restful sleep. read more

I used this company to purchase CPAP supplies several times. On multiple occasions, I placed orders and asked what my financial responsibility would be. Each time, the representative would say "you're 100% covered through your insurance, you won't have to pay anything." Then, several weeks, later, I get billed for hundreds of dollars. They use a third party company to manage their billing and payment collection (Care Centrix). When I called to figure out what is going on American Homepatient says to call Care Centrix and Care Centrix says to call American Homepatient. They have a very short return policy, so by the time you get your bill the return window for your supplies is closed. When I called to talk to a supervisor, I was told they were not available and was not given the option to leave my number for a call back. I never received so much as an apology, but just justifications for why the person I was speaking with wasn't responsible because it wasn't her department and why I shouldn't have been told what I was (yes, the reason I was calling!) Overall, this is a horrible company with either ignorant and deceptive sales representatives and are not willing to take responsibility for their employees mistakes. I am never doing business with them again. read more

DO NOT PATRONIZE AMERICAN HOME PATIENT!!!!! 0 stars!!! Went there to pick up a CPAP machine per my Physicians prescription. 1. Location is so far out of the way for me. And their hours we so limited I had to take time off of work to go there. 2. The facility from the outside looks like it used to be an auto mechanics shop, not a medical professionals office. And the inside is worse. Clutter everywhere. The place is filthy and disorganized. I felt like I was in a waiting area for an oil change business. 3. They had me sit in an old, dirty reclining lounger. That was incredibly uncomfortable that I preferred to sit on a metal folding chair nearby. 4. I felt like i was being given a high pressure sales pitch. Not being treated by medical professionals. They tried to get me to purchase unneeded equipment. And told me it would be more paperwork for them if I didn't purchase it. 5. When I finally needed to contact them for help. It was unbelievably difficult. I ended up calling their corporate headquarters to get info I needed. 6. I experienced ear pain/pressure. On their website it directly says ear pain is not a common experience with this machine and to call my dr immediately. When I called AHP they said it was due to dryness. And tried to sell me more equipment. Did not recommend I see my dr. 7. When I was fed up and tried to return the equipment. They tried to charge me for services and equipment I never received. DO NOT USE AMERICAN HONE PATIENT!!!! ask your Dr. for a referral to another business. read more

Customer service is worse than non-existent. I am not surprised that getting a new CPAP requires a bit of trial and error. But they have succeeded in getting my order wrong 100% of the time and even argued with me when i called to get it straight. I need a large head band and a small pillow. They have yet to get it right. I will do without a CPAP before i deal with them again. read more

This is one of the worst business ever to deal with. They dont answer the phones and it is impossible to bet any call back. They over bill!!!!!! Even after they have been paid in full by your insurance company. Once you have fullfilled the payment of a piece of equipment they continue to bill you and your insurane. If there is a problem with your bill you cannot get through to anyone for an explination so they send threat letters to scare you into paying...RUN from this company and use someone else. OH YEAH...they just got bought out by Lincare which is just as bad. read more

I was told by the friendly and professional woman, Kathy, who fitted my mask to call any time with questions. To do this one must jump through several hoops. The only number to call is a service center that is not local. I waited for over 15 minutes to speak to a representative. At my request I was transferred to the Gainesville office. After a 5 minute wait I was able to speak with Lauren at the front desk who was rude. Rude to the degree that you wonder how she holds a position where she has to interact with public. The office manager Tim was not much better. After a long and frustrating hassle I was able to talk with the respiratory therapist, Sandy, who was as helpful and friendly as Lauren was rude and unhelpful (Hence the 2 stars). Sandy answered all my questions and told me how to get in touch with her directly. I wish I had listened to my physician who recommended North Florida Medical Equipment. But my husband goes here and has never needed to contact them with questions. If you Google American HomePatient the reviews are terrible so it seems the problems are not only with the Gainesville office. read more
