I recently used American Home Improvement to complete the replacement of my original windows with their storm windows. They had previously replaced 3 and it was time to replace the other 7. Not only was the quote reasonable, but the work was scheduled and completed exactly as they told me. For all 7 windows, 2 young men came to my house and completely removed and reinstalled the windows, all in one day. Not only were they polite and efficient, they were very conscientious about cleaning as they went. What makes this more spectacular was the fact that ReBath of West Texas was also in my home replacing my bathroom, completely, with a walk-in shower, new flooring, new tile, new walls, a new cabinet and sink. They also replaced the sink and toilet in the other bathroom. These men were in my house for a week and I had not one worry about them being here. They were polite, efficient, and unbelievably accommodating. I knew, beforehand, how much the job would cost. I knew, beforehand, what I was getting although the cabinet was much nicer that I thought it would be. I spent quite a bit of money on both of these renovations and I have not regretted it for one minute. The people at American Home Improvement and ReBath of West Texas are wonderful and I would recommend them for any job! Careful with this company. We had some repairs done recently to a leak at our home and sunroom here in Midland. They built our sunroom fifteen plus years ago so we figured they would best know how to make a repair. It took three phone calls before receiving a return call from their office to schedule someone to come out, take a look and give us an estimate. The estimator came out about a week later and we were given a quote of $125/hour for labor plus parts. That seemed fair, we agreed and he said that we would receive a call from the office to schedule the workers to come out and make the repairs. No phone call after a few days so I had to call again. We ended up scheduling an appointment on a Tuesday morning. Two workers showed up at our house unannounced three days early on Saturday. We were not home but in town so we drove home after the workers called to let us know that they were at our home. We show up at our house and they are in our back alley. The two workers spoke no English, took 5 minutes to look at the roof and then left to buy materials for the fix. They returned an hour later and made the repairs in 30 minutes. Total time spent at our house doing repairs was about an hour. They installed a metal slab that doesn't match the rest of our house to keep the moisture out. Fine, it doesn't look terrible and as long as the leak had stopped. Hard to tell for sure since we haven't had much rain since. We then received a bill in the mail for a bit higher than expected. The bill was not detailed so we called for an explanation. Came to realize that repairs were $125/hour per worker. They told my wife that they weren't making any money on this order, not our fault we thought to ourselves, and that was how their contractors charged them they told us. I didn't think it was a two person job and that was not clarified in the original estimate given. We then received a more detailed bill in the mail a few days later for an amount less than the first bill. Great, maybe some miscommunication with the original quote, let's pay and be done with it. I called to pay with a credit card over the phone. They told me that our order would be covered under a warranty (not sure what warranty) and that they would write it off. We would not have to pay anything. I thanked them and asked if our sunroom continued to leak, could they come back for additional repairs? They said no. They said our order was a mess, and that I was a problem? I am disappointed that they will not stand by their work or their contractors work in case the fix doesn't hold up. Overall, we received very rude customer service by the employees at American Home Improvements in Midland/Odessa. Be careful, shop around and get multiple estimates first before hiring this company. I wish we would have done so. read more
