I met with Neil to appraise my mother's engagement ring, and to go over the different options that I could do with the ring. (Keep it, sell it, use the diamond to change it into something else.) Neil was informative and thoughtful. I really appreciated both his expertise and his time. Highly recommend. read more

I had to get my wedding rings appraised for my homeowners insurance and I was referred to Neil by my State Farm Agent. What a great experience! He appraised my rings right in front of me, talked to me about what he was doing and what he found. The conversation was great. It took about 30 minutes. He printed my report so I have a hard copy and then he emailed me a copy so I could forward that right over to insurance. I only need it appraised every 5 years or so but I will be back and I recommend Neil to everyone!! read more

He knows what he is doing but is a bad place to sell to. He pays 65% of the melt value of gold. There are people locally who pay 85%. Even for 1oz of gold this is over $600 difference these days. He is good at assessing hat you have. read more

Neil provided a very detailed appraisal of my grandmother's wedding ring. He was very knowledgeable, thorough and honest about what my family could expect if we were to sell her ring in a private sale. He answered all of my questions and explained in detail the reasons for the valuation. I left there confident knowing I did the right thing by having Neil do the appraisal. His expertise is impressive and I would highly recommend his service! read more

American Gem Registry - My diamonds and white gold engagement ring. - Appraisal Services Near Me - Arvada, Colorado

I was referred to Neil Beaty through a consumer advocacy website. I was having my engagement diamond reset into a new setting a few years ago. The jeweler was in NY, I am in CA and Neil was in Colorado. I was very nervous and wanted Neil to be my 'middle man'. He unset my stone and appraised it unset. Then sent the stone to the designer who was creating the setting. After the stone was reset, it was sent to Neil again for him to appraise the piece now set. When I lost my ring late last year Neil's bullet proof appraisal is what helped me negotiate with my insurance policy. Because it was do so detailed, and because of his reputation in the industry the insurance company knew that they had to deal with me fairly. If I hadn't had such an incredibly detailed appraisal, they would have replaced my ring with any old thing that was the same shape and the same basic design00 but in no way the same quality. And that would have been a huge loss financially. read more

Needed an appraisal for a diamond eternity band and Neil was great. Definitely the high level of expertise I was hoping for.

Very knowledgeable and friendly. As I walked in I had an immediate sense of trust and professionalism. I was there to have my ring appraised for insurance purposes and I have very limited knowledge about gems( as I am sure most of the community does as well). It's a bit like learning a foreign language. However Neil was truly helpful and thorough with his explanation of the ratings of my diamond. Which made the whole process a lot easier. He took time to explain the ratings and was able to demonstrate what he saw under the magnifying glass by projecting it on a large screen TV so that I could not only understand his rating but visualize it as well. After reading many reviews I admit I must concur. I highly recommend Neil at American Gem Registry. And when it's time for an upgrade I will definitely use his services again. His prices are fair and his knowledge is both broad and impressive. read more

Just wanted to leave a review of my very positive experience w/ Neil at American Gem Registry. I found him through the AGS (https://www.americangemsociety.org/en/appraiser-search-results?state=CO) website and had wanted him to independently verify my loose diamond for symmetry using ASET and Idealscope. Neil works by appointment only, and it was very easy to schedule via an email and phone confirmation. I went w/ my parents on a weekend (Neil is open on Saturdays from 9-2 pm by appointment only), and it was fortunate he could see us on a weekend since I am only in town on weekends. Neil did the whole she-bang...Idealscope, Gemprint (a way of using a laser to obtain a unique "fingerprint" based on the light scatter patterns due to the cut of the diamond - runs about an additional $50/$60 or so). He explained each step of the process, and his independent evaluation was pretty spot on w/ the AGSL certificate - he only differed a bit in how he graded the inclusions, but this was only a grade difference. We compared his independent assessment w/ the certificate, and for $95, we had piece of mind that the estimated $22,000 investment was well worth it. Oh, and on the way out, I DROPPED the diamond on the ground. Neil was gracious enough to let me check the serial to ensure I had the right diamond, and he even threw in a small gift loupe. We were there for 90 minutes -- it would have probably been shorter, but I was videoing the whole visit so that my soon to be fiancee could watch later on. I asked a lot of questions, and he was totally patient, even though we were the last customers before he went on xmas vacation the following week. Thanks Neil! read more

Neil was extremely knowledgeable and honest. Overall a great experience, we learned a lot about the history and processes behind the pieces we brought in. We would definitely recommend him to anyone looking for an appraisal of their jewelry. However, plan on spending a little time doing it, this is not a quick 15 min stop in the mall. read more

Five stars is not enough!!!! Neil is one of the most honest businessmen I have EVER had the pleasure of doing business with. I needed a few items appraised before selling them and I had no clue of their value. Neil gave me his professional opinion on which pieces would be worth the appraisal and which would not because their value was less than an appraisal would cost. If you are looking for the best in HONESTY and QUALITY work look no further than Neil Beaty at the American Gem Registry. I will definitely return for future appraisal needs! Thank you Neil!! read more

Neil is fantastic! Went in this morning to get a diamond "recertified" and it was a really great experience. He was capable of the GIA certs, but in my case it wasnt necessary. He has quite the set up in his shop and i was very impressed with his high degree of professionalism throughout the process I was able to ask him a multitude of questions, and was even able to ask him questions about the new setting. Since he has been in the jewellry business for about 20 years he knows quite a bit. He explained prices on the setting I was considering and what to expect from local jewellers. He wouldnt make endorsements because he works with most reputable jewellers in denver. I thought that that spoke well to his integrity. The experience lasted about 40 minutes for my single diamond and wasn't painful or boring! read more

Over the years I have referred many clients to American Gem Registry and I just want to say how comfortable I am sending my clients to Neil for an unbiased opinion on any piece of jewelry. His in depth knowledge of not only the jewelry and diamond markets and his understanding of what makes a good appraisal is a constant source of amazement to me. Unlike so many appraisers who just write up what they think is a value, Neil takes the time to listen to his clients and write a report based on which market the appraisal is for, whether it be for an estate, for insurance or some other use that would require a specific appraisal for that purpose. Denver is very lucky to have an appraiser of his talent and ethical standing in the Jewelry business. Neil is known and respected by jewelers across the country. read more

I recently had my engagement ring appriased by Neil, he is extremely professional and did the appraisal while I waited - no dropping off the ring and having to pick it up at a later date! Would highly recommend his services. Thanks, Neil! read more

I was hesitant about finding an expert to appraise an engagement ring I purchased and needed insured. If you are in need of getting a diamond appraised, Neil is the guy to see. His location is conveniently located in the Denver Merchandise Mart. Neil was professional, informative and did it all right in front of me. He gave me a mini lesson on the stone, and the diamond details "diamond people" would want to know. He was friendly through the whole process. At the end, he conveniently emailed all the information to my account and even sent information to the insurance company. read more

I went to Neil today for a ring appraisal after I got a bad feeling from my first (unprofessional) appraiser. It was an appraisal for engagement ring bought online. Neil was so nice, helpful, and professional. I watched the entire appraisal and Neil let me ask 1 million questions and took the time to educate me, which I really appreciated! The report was complete and explained clearly. Thank you Neil! read more

Neil is an astonishing expert, and likely the most experienced appraiser in the entire state, if not the entire country. GIA and AGS certification/training (to name a few), are you kidding me?! Why would you go anywhere else?! From the moment I walked in, Neil spent more than enough time answering my questions, and gave me a history on differences in diamond cut and grading from different labs that was absolutely fascinating. Never, during the entire visit, did I feel rushed. It is evident from Neil's enthusiasm that he takes a lot of pride in what he does, and he passes that on to the consumer. If you are looking to get a diamond appraised in the Denver Metro area, I would HIGHLY recommend you visit with Neil over anyone else. I felt VERY confident that my appraisal was done correctly, and, he seamlessly sent my information over to Perfect Circle Insurance so that my request for coverage was expedited. Please, do yourself and your jewelry a favor, and pay Neil a visit. I promise you won't regret this decision. read more
