Name of instructor (A. Casanova) and course material
Maddie B.

Okay where to begin?! This was an AWESOME experience and easy to understand class due to the instructor (Adriana Casanova) that taught our Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED course. She's charismatic, down to earth and made everyone learning in the room feel comfortable when performing CPR on the dummies. Adriana has a way with people that makes others feel more confident as a person and confident in performing the course material first hand. I definitely felt inspired and hope that (when I sign up for BLS) she'll be the one teaching it! I would recommend to everyone that they should get certified in CPR because you never know when someone might need it. It might just save a life.

Each station has an adult and infant CPR dummy to demonstrate your proficiency in performing CPR.

I came here for CPR and first aid training and I am glad I did. It was easy to register on their…read morewebsite and they offer both in person and hybrid classes right now. The parking at this location is super easy, it was easy to spot from the street, and they are kind of close to the 5 freeway. The building looked very clean and organized. The instructor, Scott, was great at making the information clear, keeping us engaged, questioning us, monitoring our progress and assessing our skills. When we made mistakes he made sure to give us a positive too to keep us motivated. I can actually remember what the acronym SAMPLE stands for now, thanks to him. I also think it is pretty neat that I can still access the training videos on the Red Cross website even though my class is over! The videos are like games and there is a little bar that moves either into the red or green as you progress through them. It's kind of fun playing them and a good learning experience. I would definitely recommend getting CPR training from these people. They have everything so organized and are very thorough.

The American Red Cross has seen its share of controversy over the years. Some people loathe it for…read morewasting money (my ex-boyfriend was one of those), others for alleged discrimination, and others for making money from blood donations. Nevertheless, there are few organizations that are so universally recognized for helping others. When you see the famous Red Cross logo, you know help is on its way. It's difficult to think of another organization that can so quickly and efficiently organize a blood drive or set up a shelter after a disaster. I have donated blood at the Glendale location several times. Some experiences have been better than others but overall the staff have been professional. It's always nice to get the perks (tickets to comedy shows, coupons for ice cream, T-shirts during the annual KLOS blood drive, not to mention concert tix). But when all is said and done, the ultimate gift is the gift of life. Make sure you schedule an appointment to donate ahead of time; they are not always fully staffed to accept blood donations. My father required several blood transfusions in the last year of his life. While ultimately nothing could be done to save him, at least he got a little more time on this earth to spend with his loved ones. Now, whenever I give blood, it's to honor him and to try to help another family in the same situation. Give the gift of life.

American Red Cross - I have received a lot of thank-you-for-your-donation T-shirts from the Red Cross over the years but this is the best yet. Give more life.
