An excellent burger!! The burger basket is more than filling. The meat is tasty and digestible. The crinkle fries were hot and crispy, the seasoning salt gave them the perfect taste. I have never had a bad experience at this location, therefore I stick with the location that has not failed me. I came for the nostalgia, and I got it! As an Atlanta native who now lives in Cali, whenever I come back home i feel like it's a rite of passage to visit an American Deli at least once during my trip. Is the food greasy? Yes. Are the chicken phillies likely to clog an artery or two? Yes. Are the lemon pepper wings sour with a hint of peppery disrespect? Absolutely And does the "peach drink" contain even 1% of real "juice"? Unlikely. Yet I love this place ! (And kudos to this location for actually looking CLEAN!) Every time you call the restaurant they will not answer the phone. It is more than an inconvenience. AND NO THEY ARE NOT ALWAYS BUSY!!! JUST LAZY AS HELL!!! After calling several times on 09/05/23 and of course no answer, I arrived to the restaurant to find not one customer in the store (about 1 hour before closing). I sat in my car and called. I saw all the staff standing around on there cellphones (one bent over on the counter very relaxed) They all ignored the phone. This is not the first time I have done this. I have even come into the store and stood in line to order, calling while standing in line and they still would not answer the phone. The customer service in this store is getting very bad. Today was my second time visiting this American deli. The first time I ordered a philly cheese steak with everything not knowing that included mayo. The sandwich was tasty but I couldn't stand all that mayo so today I went back to try it without the mayo and it was delicious. It had peppers and onions. Don't know if there were mushrooms because I ate it too fast. I don't like fries so I ordered the shrimp fried rice. One thing about Clayton county....they have numerous American Deli franchises to choose from. This location which is located near party city and across the street from Taco Bell is one of the best. Negative star for me. The cashier was so rude and mean. I have my order for wings and told her the two flavors I wanted she goes half and half. I told her that's what I mean. They need to clean their grill properly. The grilled beef had a lot of burnt food debris in it. It was also flavorless. And the chicken wings didn't taste fresh. I've ordered there before and had them mix 2 flavors like I do everywhere I go, epic fail! Today I said I would try simple hot wings and lemon pepper, These wings taste terrible! I'm on a keto diet, nowhere else has carbs in their lemon pepper, so I assumed they didn't either.... These wet, nasty, old grease stinky wings are 5 carbs per wing! Never had a problem at this location before until recently. Was there on a Friday evening. Line to the door. A gentleman waiting patiently at the counter stops everyone by saying, "Hold up everyone. Before you all finish your orders I would like you all to know that I just brought back an order that was wrong. I drove back 15 minutes (or 15 miles. Not sure which one he said) and they offered to remake the food. They have no idea what I did with this food but the young man back there(working the fryer) just took the food out of the plates and put it back in the grease. I would suggest you not eat here." The owner who was standing by went to the trash can and showed the man the empty plate that was thrown away but as the man said, there was no food in it. The manager/owner looked at the guy on the fryer and shook his head as if to say, "why did you do this in front of so many people" and threw the basket of wings away. The customer asked for his money back (while maintaining his composure the whole time) and the owner gave it to him without an issue (which says a lot in itself since most of these placed NEVER give a refund). Several people left the line but several others still stayed. I know there are many places we have no clue with what they do with the food but to actually see them blatantly sere contaminated food is something else altogether.
