First time at this location. Went for mild 15pc wings and fries combo and both hit the spot. I love that wings from American Deli always look and taste organic. Only thing I didn't like was the Sweet Tea. It was extremely sugary and had to be thrown out. Service was good and extremely fast. I wasn't even sitting down for a full 5 minutes. Anyhow, would definitely return. Plenty of parking. read more

But the service leaves a lot to be desired, young girls at the counter taking orders lack customer service etiquette to the point where I will not be visiting that particular location anytime soon. She spent more time playing games on her phone than working, along with her so called co-worker. Where you find honey hot wings, I am certain to not be too far away. I've shared my love of American Deli in a previous review and the love remains. There are sooo many different wing spots in ATL, I make it my purpose to try a new one every so often but sometimes, going with what you know and what's close is a good choice. The menu at American Deli doesn't change based on location so it's a place that you can find your own fave meal. What's mine? Honey Hot wings, extra wet with sauce on the fries if possible, sometimes I kick it up a notch and do a chicken philly combo with wings and fries the same way. Easy peasy. That honey hot has never done me wrong okay? Recently I ordered for pickup via UberEats (I couldn't get anyone on the phone) and got my regular with a cheesesteak. Located right next to Kroger and a few other restaurants and shops in the plaza, there's a large lot of parking for plaza guests. Let's get the point out that made this a 3.5 experience IRL before all of the good stuff -- My chicken philly was very sad looking. :( It was cold, the cheese wasn't melted in any way, just dropped on the untoasted or heated bread lol, and it just wasn't the delicious philly that I usually enjoy from American Delis. I got my money back for it, but I was surprised. BUT - the rest of my experience was good and actually a little funny to me. They weren't busy at all when I arrived so I was able to walk right up and give my name. I asked if I could get extra sauce on my fries, I was told no. Actually, "No, and they don't even have the lil cups". It wasn't said in a rude or unkind manner at alllll. But I was (and am) still so confused lol. The young lady that told me had an air of, "I don't make the rules sis", and I respect that lol. It was crazy because I paid extra for them to be wet so I asked them to confirm if they did do that. They checked my wings and pulled out a huge squeeze bottle of honey hot sauce and put them over my wings. ...my fries were SO close LOL internally I was laughing so hard. Rules were not made to be broken apparently. **I will say - those wings were FIRE and the honey hot was some of the best I've had from an American Deli so far. I should have gotten more wings. I know its a chain but there are different folks in each kitchen and whoever made those wings wasn't playing. So next time, I'll get more wings, no cheesesteak and maybe I'll bring my own tupperware for a side of sauce? :D read more

So I found out about this place before moving to ATL on the show Atlanta! I have never tried lemon people WET wings before...so I decided to check it out. When I looked the place up on yelp I was skeptical for sure. But once I tried the lemon pepper wet wings, I was singing a different tune. I'm a drumsticks kinda gal and will pay extra to get only drumsticks. But here I ate the flats too - yes they were that good! Came by to try the Philly and fried rice this past weekend. I was pleasantly surprised, it was really good. The service staff is nice, the timing for the order wasn't too bad. I went around 7pm and it was packed. I just placed my order, made a quick stop to Kroger for a few things, and by the time I went back my order was ready. Overall good experience. I got the Philly + 5 wing combo. The flavors of the Philly were on point. Very good amount of beef, not too much onion/peppers, and the cheese was fantastic. The flavor on the wings was good, lemon pepper dry, but the wing size was a little small. The fried rice portion was HUGE, definitely a good value. Came with a good amount of shrimp and veggies. It lasted me 3 meals. Next time I'll probably ask for no corn. read more

My first time ordering at this American deli so I go in ask everyone how is there food and they stated Oh the food is good here the dinning room was not clean trash was full floors were dirty but I said I was gone give them a try so I order a meal for me and my daughter and then I asked him can I use the restroom so he can give me the key and I go to use the restroom and I open up the door to go to the sink to wash my hands and there were roaches all Smurfs all over the wall roaches all over the floor roaches everywhere in that bathroom chocolate came out the bathroom and I asked him can I have my money back because you know their roaches everywhere in the bathroom and he was like but your food is is already ready and I said sorry can I please have my money back because I don't want to eat here thank you though even though there's was a hassle he still finally gave me my money back and it took him a long time but I got my money back and I learned that I will have to give this restaurant at -0 read more

Just a little update on the service during my most recent visit. Came into American Deli around 8:15 pm to pick up a call in order. The order wasn't ready. Tried to add a salad onto the order but was told that the salad bar was closed. The employee at the register was clearly frustrated as more people came into the restaurant with only 45 mins left before closing. Also ordered an extra ranch for .50. The female employee who handed me the box stated that the extra ranch was inside. When I looked inside...no extra ranch. So I told the female employee and then she proceeded to ask for my receipt to confirm. After waiting 20 mins for my call in order I had to dig ALL the way in the bottom of my purse to find the receipt. Super frustrating. I ordered 6 lemon pepper wings, wet. I literally had to add lemon pepper that was on the counter to the wings. The cooks were clearly ready to go!! Don't go to American Deli after 8 pm, the service is horrible. So I went to this American Deli about twice. The first time I got a burger and it was delicious. The fries were an okay size and they had a good density to it. Today I ordered bbq wings and medium wings. I figured that I could use the sauce for my fries along with the ranch sauce. The gag was that the wings were not only anorexic but the sauce was dry. There was barely type of sauce and when u bit into the chicken you were basically eating burnt skin. I basically digested the wings as I ate because they had so little meat on it. As for the fries, I was basically eating sticks. They were just so thin. But it's American deli so I shouldn't expect too much I guess. As for the shop, it was very clean and the cashier was nice. American Deli serves basic American fare: wings, chicken fingers, Philly cheesesteaks, Reubens, burgers, club sandwiches, fried shrimp, gyros, salads, and fried fish. Headquartered in Riverdale, there are many locations thoughout Atlanta metro, mostly in strip malls and shopping malls. This location can be found inside the Kroger shopping center on Howell Mill Road, next door to Elite Cleaners (dry cleaner). This is mainly a takeout joint. You can eat inside, but there are only three tables (seating four persons each). There's an open kitchen behind the counter so you can see the employees cook your food. A half dozen wing flavors are available. They have an $8.99 10-piece wing special which also nets you a side of fries, celery & blue cheese, and a fountain drink. You can order as many as 100 wings for $68.99. Expect to spend about $6.00-7.00 if you order a sandwich, burger, or gyro. The fried fish ($6.50-$10.50) comes in two varieties, whiting and tilapia, and is served with fries and coleslaw. The fries here are the standard crinkle-cut variety. Fountain drinks (Coke products, including two different flavors of Fanta) are poured behind the counter. Condiments such as ketchup and seasonings, disposable silverware and napkins, etc. are self-serve at the counter. All orders, whether eat-in or to-go, are served in Styrofoam containers. I've had both the Reuben ($6.99 combo) and Phillysteak ($6.99 combo) here. They're not bad. Everything is prepared fresh to order. Generally, these sandwiches are a bit on the heavy/greasy side. Unless you're really hungry, just the sandwich alone is filling enough. The Reuben comes with corned beef, Swiss cheese, and sauerkraut with Russian dressing on dark rye bread. The quality of the ingredients isn't the greatest, particularly the corned beef. The corned beef could be cut/shredded better. I've pulled out an entire sandwich half's worth of corned beef in one bite. The Phillysteak comes with grilled steak, bell peppers, onions, mushrooms, and white American cheese. It's very cheesey and tasty, though oily and too much bread, not enough filling. The fries are about as plain as they get. Think mall food court or outdoor carnival fries. Restroom is unisex and has a funky smell. The front counter staff are nice. The business seems efficiently run. I do like how there's a computer display facing you at the counter, which allows you to review your itemized order before paying. read more

Overall this place is just okay. It was delivered via Door Dash. The Philly had tons of veggies with a scaled back amount of meat. I'm not sure if the meat shortage is still happening so this could be a COVID-19 related issue. It also had too much mayo for my taste. Fries had a nice crunch but lacked salt. We received Teriyaki wings in error, which were flavorless, whoever they were for may have asked for easy sauce. Either way, my wife couldn't eat them so Door Dash redelivered her correct order of hot wings. You kind of get what you expect from America Deli, so as long as you got that down, then you can enjoy yourself and the food/service they offer! This particular location is located in the Kroger shopping center on Howell Mill, not too far from the interstate. It is mostly a take out place, but if you choose to eat in, the seating is a little scarce with there only being four (4) tops in the restaurant. If you have never been to an American Deli, its a counter service/order style restaurant that serves basic American fair from fish sandwiches, chicken tenders, ruebens all the way to shrimp fried rice. The two known items for the chain are their wings and philly cheesesteak sandwiches. I usually end up with the wings combo, comes with 6 wings, fries and drink for around $7.00. I usually get my wings medium, but they have several different sauces and rubs that you can get on naked or breaded wings. I will say that if you have ever had chicken tenders at a fair or cheap sporting event, you have had these chicken tenders. Overall, American Deli is a relatively inexpensive place to eat some decent classics that are usually prepared with quickness and are available via call in. However, if you dine in at this particular location, they still charge for drink refills...which seems a little outdated for restaurants. But outside of that oddity, this place is a decent option. read more

My driver goes back in with me on the line and I can hear the person at the front IGNORING her. I used to order from this location all the time with no problem however, do to the mishandling of my order and the treatment of my driver, I will more than likely never order from then again. Awesome wings! I stumbled across the deli the other day when I left the office to run an errand. While out I got call to bring back dinner for the team. I saw a neon sign that said wings! Perfect! I come here all the time. They are closed on Sundays, which is a drag. There's always available parking. Call in ahead of time if you can. This is my got to place for hot wings. My bf likes the fried whiting. I get hot wings and fries. I love the fruit punch, it's the best. I have never tried anything besides wings and fish. The service is always adequate and never bad .
