I scheduled and appointment and they got me in by the end of the week. Most times in a dr office you sit and wait forever I was in and out with my prescription, trial contacts and on my way. I didn't order my contacts with them as I get more of a discount using my company's perks. So all I can say is the drs said if the business was great I don't know about the other side of it.

I had some pretty serious sticker-shock when I walked out with a $198 bill after a basic contact exam with no eye concerns or issues. I bought no other items. I called up a couple other optometry places afterwards and received quotes from $90 to $110. I've never paid this much for a basic exam in my life. That being said, if your insurance covers it, it might be worth it. I had a 10:30 appointment, and I was in and out by 11 - and that includes dilation. The doctor was extremely friendly and pleasant, and the staff was really nice too. Everything was clearly crafted for efficiency, and we moved briskly - but not too hurriedly. They have a huge selection of eyeglasses and contact lenses as well. Paying out of pocket, though, this place is just way-beyond the current cost of a contact eye exam in the Cedar Valley, and I should have done more shopping around before feeling proud of myself for "supporting local business".

Supposed to be a $10.00 co pay for prescriptions and $150.00 frames and $150.00 for lenses paid by insurance.. I confirmed this before the appointment in the Dr office. I forgot my credit card to make payment. It was decided to have the appointment then go home and get my CC. Upon returning to pay my $10.00 co pay- I picked frames and the glasses price is now $475.00. I was to be happy that was at a 20% discount. I also now owed a Refraction fee of $38.00 the front desk said was needed to complete my script. They also took my $10.00 co pay for my vision insurance. I paid the refraction fee but, I was confused. Called my insurance and they agreed that fee is included in my policy. Heated conversation takes place about being over charged. Front desk refuses to credit my CC and gives me $36.00 in single dollar bills and quarters. Keep the 10.00 co pay amount. Refused to give me a receipt for the refraction charge and refund. I said why are the classes priced at $475.00 when I have insurance? They said you have insurance but we don't have to take it. So, after the appointment and confirming my insurance they decided to charge the exam to Medicare as a health exam and then refuse my insurance for vision and now I have to pay refraction fee and full price for glasses. NONE of this was disclosed to me before the appointment. Upon questioning the refraction fee the front desk told me I need to go to Walmart for glasses gas lighting me and avoiding the over charges made. In the end I got a refund for the refraction fee ( with no receipt). Why no receipt? Because for each surprise medical bill they Doctor can be sued for $10,000. Never seen such rude front desk employees, no communication that my insurance wasn't going to be accepted until after the visit was done. The only reason they verbally said it was because I kept saying my insurance covers refraction fee. Front desk is rude, dismissive, dishonest. I think Dr Bailey is nice, but, with this office billing practices and rude front desk that shows all that is needed to know about the office as a whole

The new doctor was very nice, however during the exam he said that my prescription for my contacts was pretty much the same but he wanted me to try a new prescription and ordered me some trial lenses to test them out which I had expressed some concerns that I would get these on time since I was leaving for vacation on the 13th (appointment was on June 27th). I also had a coupon to try some colored contacts which I have always wanted to test out and they said they would do that as well. They didn't have the lenses in stock so they ordered them along with colored ones which arrived the next day. I had my grandma go pick them up since I could take any extra time off of work. When she went to pick them up she was informed that the doctor wanted me to come in and have them on so he could see how they looked. Neither of us was made aware at the time of the appointment that we would have to make another stop in which I am unable to do so. If I had known I would have just said skip it and order my usual prescription right then. Not only that, but I also didn't get my colored contacts trial, instead I get a regular trial of a different brand. So I went ahead and ordered my contacts through Walmart on June 29th and on July 2nd my prescription was confirmed. I had paid for expedited shipping so it would get here on the 9th. I get an email from Walmart today (July 9th) that my contacts were backordered until the 23rd, a couple days before I get back from vacation. So I figured I would take the time out of my break during work to give Cedar Valley Eye Care a call and see if they could give me some trial lenses to get me through these two weeks. The front desk ladies were very nice and transferred me to the contact lady who was rude and basically said that since I had ordered from Walmart I was out of luck. She told me that they didn't have any trial lenses available and she wouldn't order them even if I did since I ordered through walmart. Keep in mind that when I needed the trial lenses for the "new" prescription I got them the very next day. She told me to contact walmart for trial lenses which they don't offer and even if they did I wouldn't get the prescription in time by Friday. So now pretty much the only option I have is to reuse my daily contacts for two weeks until I get back. I have been going to this place since I was a child and overall I am very disappointed and definitely will not be coming back next year. If anyone has recommendations for places that actually care about their customers, let me know!

The technician promptly said they could send them back and provide this for a nominal charge; I agreed to do this. When the new glasses arrived, I took them home and noticed that I couldn't see small print as well as the previous pair. When I returned to explain this, the technician used a magnifier loop to diagnose the problem. She then compared my previous two prescriptions with the latest and confirmed that the magnification had been reduced by 0.25. She discussed this with the doctor and he agreed to change my prescription to 0.25 stronger. After re-ordering the glasses with the new prescription, they called a week later to report an issue with the lab. The glasses were re-ordered again and they arrived a few days later. When I tried them on, they looked and worked great. I really appreciated the willingness of staff to keep me informed at every step and to go the extra mile to keep a satisfied customer.
