My husband and I had never transported a car before. Our friends used Auto transporters of Canton Ma. a few weeks ago and highly recommended the service so we decided to give them a try as we needed to bring our car back from Fl. To Rhode Island. Auto Transporters is a contractor and contracted Yellow Transporter out of Fl to transport our friends car from Fl. When I called, I asked for the same company and the same driver Julio. Dorothy at Auto Transporters made all the arrangements. She took the credit card payment, emailed me all the documents and provided proof of insurance for Yellow Transporters. She was so kind and professional as I called a few times with questions. The driver picked up the car on a Friday and delivered the car on Sunday at 1:00 pm. I received text messages notifying me when the car would be at the delivery destination and also for initial pick up. The driver arrived exactly on time and he was so nice. Thank you Julio! Our car arrived in perfect condition. We would definitely use both companies again. read more

Josh was super flexible and easy to work with. I learned the driver calls the shots regarding the timetable. But fortunately they contracted with someone sensitive to my schedule and the care for my "museum" car. I highly recommend hiring American Auto! read more

I have used their transport services for several years and I continue to be impressed with them. Their customer service is superb from beginning to end. It is easy to make reservations for transport and they make you feel like they really appreciate your business. My car was picked up and delivered on time by courteous and accommodating drivers on every occasion- most recently yesterday. Plus their prices are quite competitive. I highly recommend them. read more

I am absolutely thrilled with the service provided. Our car was picked up in Norwood, MA and delivered in Tucson, AZ. Everything went better than expected. I was quite nervous about the process, but my car arrived right on time without any issues. I would like to give extra kudos to Michael Depina. He picked up our car and was incredibly friendly and supportive. He put us at ease and provided exceptional customer service. Thank you! read more

Please, yelpers, see the review by Desi M. I know I am not as off the mark as was suggested by Nick Hunter. My reply to his "I'm innocent..." response to my review has been removed. I meant what I said, and I've given AAT lots of latitude over the years. Sheesh...you'd think they would give me a break and admit I've had a bad experience with them. read more

Called for a quick quote. They gave me a descent price and I would have used them. I flew to the location and drove it back. Otherwise I would have used them GOOD COMPANY read more

I was nervous shipping my second-most-valuable possession from Canton MA to Cocoa Beach FL via American Auto Transporters. I needn't have been. The minute I clapped eyes on the owner, NICK HUNTER, I knew all would be well. And it was. My only complaint was that the north bound driver didn't communicate his arrival. I called AAT in Canton and they gave his estimated time of arrival. They were exactly right. The reviews on this sort of service are confusingly all over the place. But be assured, this is good company. You can ship w/o feeling nervous. read more

Cars, yes two of them, went from Pompano Beach, FL to Brookline. Door to door. I thought they were very good.

1st looked at another auto transporter, Promises not keep. went back to Amerian Auto Transporters (have use twice previously) We had a Kia Sorento shipped to my daughter in the Florida Keys, Marathon. We drove it down from NH to Canton Ma. Their attitude was great, she received the car in less then a week. It was delivered to her at the K-Mart parking lot. Such great friendly service, promises keep, Highly Recommend. Enough said. Thank you American Auto Transporters, Canton Mass. Mark and Lynda Silegy, Ctr Barnstead NH. read more

Extremely disappointed and disturbed. I agree completely with Yelp Reviewer Sandy H. I had almost the EXACT same situation. They completely DAMAGED my vehicle. I have used them before and I will NEVER use them again. Shipping car from Florida to Canton. I was charged $1000, fair price. Man inspected car before shipping (made note that a MARK/scratch was on the back bumper). I was in Florida dealing with flying back and issues with COVID. So, my ELDERLY father picked up the car for me. He saw that they marked off a spot on the bumper. He called to confirm and I said yes, there was a mark there. He didn't realize what was there prior wasn't the damage that was there when dropped off. What REALLY happened along the trip was the entire bumper was dislodged. Upon exiting onto the road, my elderly father realizes that the bumper began flapping and almost FELL OFF. He had to tape it back on. When I returned, due to a delay because of COVID. I saw the damaged and immediately called. They were RUDE and decided it was MY FAULT. Whoever picked it up or dropped it off completely pulled off the back bumper. They accused me of lying. (I have been a faithful customer, I was not lying - why would I lie?). Now I see that the same experience in the SAME month happened to another customer - this tells me that they are to BLAME. That's not a coincidence. This is a despicable place, who does not care about their customers or the cars. This is $600 of damage. I would never send my car with a dislodged bumper, that is ridiculous. THEY DAMAGED THE CAR AND TAKE NO RESPONSIBILITY. I intend to team up with some other undervalued and mistreated customers to pursue a lawsuit on this. Do not go to these people. I don't write reviews, but no one should be subjected to this. read more

Used American again and it was a phenomenal experience. Yes, their price was slightly higher. But I was able to pay by credit card with no cash or certified check requirements. I called on Friday morning and advised them I'd like to move my car from Naples, FL to Boxford, MA as soon as possible. She advised me they could pick it up that weekend and would call later to confirm which day. A call on Friday afternoon confirmed pickup for 9 AM Saturday morning. He was there on time and told me he would deliver Monday or Tuesday and would call ahead with a time. He called Monday and delivered Tuesday within a few hours of the promised time. That was an almost perfect experience. And the driver couldn't have been any more pleasant, respectful and professional. Five Stars Nick only because six wasn't an option. read more

I used American Auto Transporters as a terminal, so that I could drop off my car on my schedule and the driver could pick it up on his schedule. The process was straightforward and the owner (general manager?) took me to the train station. It was only a five-minute drive, but he didn't need to do that. I figure that if he treated me well (and I wasn't even a customer) then he probably treats their customers well, too. I used a different broker to ship my car. So, I can't speak to their auto shipping service specifically. One word of advice: I'd suggest using a local broker to ship your car. I learned that lesson the hard way when the original company that promised to ship my car didn't come through. That's why I had to leave it at a terminal - I was leaving town the next day. With the internet, the prices are pretty competitive. You'll sleep better knowing that you can go to the office and speak to someone face-to-face. I suspect the service is better when the company knows you're local, as opposed to just a voice on the other end of a long distance phone call. read more

Shipped my Tesla Model S from CA to MA after a summer road trip. Pricing was expected for short-notice pickup (not cheapest, but not most expensive). Very good communication from company and actual cross-country driver, and car was very well taken care of. Only concern was timing - car was not charging so I had a limited window to get it here before main battery ran down too low, but all worked out in the end. Will recommend and use again! read more

Excellent service. I highly recommend American Auto Transporters. Titan Worldwide transportation left me high and dry two days before our rental ended. A colossal failure! I booked a covered car carrier transport service with Titan 2 months ahead. Their transport never showed. They failed to book my engagement as they told me later. I called American Auto Transporters and they acted quickly and scheduled a carrier for me. read more

Nicolas Hunter was very helpful when I set up my reservation to ship my car from CT to TX. He assured me that the price he quoted was exact and will not change. The price he gave me was very reasonable, considering it was door-to-door delivery. Other companies that had quoted me around Nicolas' price involved me driving to drop off and pick up the car. Very inconvenient if you're moving halfway across the country. But, once it was on the truck, it stayed on the truck until Texas and arrived undamaged. Usually your car will go from truck-to-truck if it's going a long distance, which increases the risk of it being dinged up. I give this company 3.5 stars. The reason why I can't give it more than that is because it took the company over a week to pick up the car. Although I was told that pick up date is not guaranteed, I think it was a bit unreasonable for that long of a gap. So, if you use this company make sure you book the pick up date, well before you plan to leave. Luckily, I left the car at my in-laws' house and they made sure the car was picked up. The day the car was picked up, I received a call from the company telling me that a driver was on the way. I would recommend this company! read more

Horrible customer service. I was told my car was going to be delivered in 3- 4 days from Canton to Florida. I called after 4 days because I got no updates as to when the car would be delivered, and they couldn't even tell me where my car was. After 6 days I was told by them to contact the carrier company to find out the status. I did just that and SWAD-- the carrier company told me that they didn't know where my car was and to call American Auto . Seriously -- it took 8 days and so much aggravation to finally get my car. I will NEVER use them again for auto transport and I highly recommend you to find another more reliable company if you choose to have your car shipped. read more

Nick, the owner, is very responsive and willing to do anything but the problem is he says, yes, but doesn't write any changes down so we moved pick up 3 days out and they called to pick up on original date. Then I needed the car in CA and gave them a drop dead date and they said sure but in reality they never wrote it down. It was only because i called to confirm that I found it was going to take 12 days to get my car. Then Nick went to work and made sure the car was in CA on my drop dead date. The car arrived in CA and AA transporters said it would be there on a Wednesday but they really have no control over delivery date. Make sure you get the name and number of transport truck and company. Price was reasonable compared to others. If only AA Transporters would write more of the info down I would have given them a 5 read more

Worst shipping company I have ever used hands down. Keep your business away. YOU WILL REGRET IT:

Most ridiculous shipping quote ever, I figure I would call them to get a quote since they are local because that's how I like to keep my business and they wanted to charge me more than double of what I ended up spending with another company that I found online, so I called them to see if they would at least price match and they said there was no way someone would safely ship my car to Florida for less...Guess what ...my car is there now for half the price... read more

American was recommended to me by friends, and I have used several times for transporting my car to Naples, FL. So far, all good. Pick up and delivery has been hassle-free and no damage to the car. Pricing not the highest, but not the cheapest either. Also found them responsive - you call, you get a human being. Quick turnaround on email. So, I definitely recommend. I would also suggest to American that they could improve communicating with customers about pick-up and delivery, using texting or email. read more

I used American Auto Transporters for a car delivery from Reading, Ma to Naples, Fl. The car arrived within two days and was delivered to Brady Terminal in Ft Meyers. The service of both American Auto and Brady Terminal was outstanding. I have used other transporters that were less expensive and had to wait several days for my car to be delivered. You get what you pay for. You will not be disappointed with American Auto Transporters. Thank you again for wonderful service read more

Very dissapointed with my experience. American Auto Transporters came highly recommended to me by a couple of people which is why I went with them even though they were the most expensive. I called made arrangements got my contract, reviewed it immediately, found an error in the address, called right back corrected the error, and asked for a revised copy to be emailed which I received. We weren't going to be in FLA to receive the car so I signed a waiver for them to just drop the car. If it weren't for the People at Mikes Auto Towing in Venice Fl I'm sure the car would have been lost forever. Not one single piece of info or document was sent to Mikes Auto all of the information they had was completely incorrect. No waiver, wrong address. Absurd. Really unprofessional, and unapologetic when I called. I mean that is the entire point of their business, thats it, to get your car to its destination. I would never use them again, I will also let the people know who recommended them to me and I will never recommend them to any Boston person we know in Fla. Worst. Maybe a little sit down with your office help about the importance of follow through is in order. Would be great if one hand knew what the other was doing read more

I got a call from the driver stating he would be at my house in 2 hours- this was 2 days before he was supposed to be there!! He said if he didnt come today he could not guarantee he would be back in the area in 2 days!! He said "your car will be there 2 days earlier"- like that was supposed to make me happy. The problem was - I was not going to be at the pick up destination 2 days early!! It all worked out but it was very inconvenient to say the least. I can say one positive thing -- The price I was quoted was the price I paid- no middle man, no - one holding my car hostage until I paid more. read more

Funny. My recent review was deleted. Terrible customer service even by Nick, the owner. Never returned our calls and when I asked to speak with him in person about what happened, I was told he was just leaving. We dropped off a vehicle on 6/22 to be shipped down to TX and was told it will be there on 6/29. 6/29 rolls around and still no car. Both my husband and I called to see where it was and it was still in their lot!! Excuse after excuse, I ended up cancelling the trip and going to pick up the car to go with a different company to do their job correctly. When we told them I was picking the car up they asked if I wanted the new company to pick up the car from them!!! I couldn't believe it. I also told them I would be speaking to the BBB & they did not seem to care at all....The bad reviews are right, you're better off picking another company. read more

We had my mother's car shipped using this company. They were supposed to deliver the car in the afternoon. They didn't deliver the car back until after 9pm. Turned out there was damage to the car we didn't see until the next day. They had left a window open during transport and the interior was soaked. They refused to take responsibility and my mother had to pay for it the repairs. read more

So far i am giving this company a poor rating... if i was able to give less than one star i would at this point. But maybe the company reads these reports and will do something about picking up our vehicle in the Haverhill, Ma area today. (which is already two days later) American Auto Transporters promised a Monday Oct 12 pickup... today is Wednesday Oct 14 and our car hasn't been picked yet. So far they are two days late for this vehicle pickup. The person that contracted with this company had to fly out to Florida today and I have offered to be available for the driver. But after 6 calls to the driver who never answered his cell phone and to the company... the company has no idea where the driver is and the company has no idea when he will arrive to pickup our vehicle. I can't believe these drivers don't have GPS so that the company can track the driver and our vehicles. read more

This company was recommended to me by a guy at Gentle Giant. I've only had good experiences with Gentle Giant so I figured that I could trust their opinion. I called the company to schedule a pick up and they gave me a date and time (10am). They called the day before the pick up was scheduled to say the window would actually be 12-2. Annoying, but fine. 2 o'clock rolls around and I haven't heard from them. I'm getting nervous because I have to get back to work. I call and the guy says he was running late. I asked him why he didn't call to tell me. He claims he was going to, but I beat him to it. He ends up getting there around 3pm though they had initially said 10am. It's like 2:50 and when I bring up the fact that I wish they would've called to let me know they were going to be late. The guy says, "I said I'd get here by 2 and it's still 2. I said, "No, it's nearly 3. Very rude! I called for an estimate on when my car would arrive. They said Monday. Monday rolls around and no one calls. I call them and they say Tuesday in the afternoon. Tuesday I hear nothing. I call on Wednesday morning asking where is my car? It finally arrives that day. The annoying thing is that they never called me with updates. I always had to call them asking where my car was. To top it off I then have to deal with another rude driver upon arrival. I get a call from the driver when he arrives: He asks if he can park inside the gate that leads to my building. I say that there should be enough room as gentle giant was able to get a huge tractor trailer in here. He seems skeptical. I say to him that he can come inside the gate to take a look. He says no that he'll drive in. He gets here and rudely says that there is not enough room. "How am I supposed to turn?" Uhh I asked you to get out of your truck, come inside and take a look before you drove in. Overall this was a frustrating experience. I would not recommend this company to anyone. They lack professionalism and basic courtesy. I don't know why anyone at Gentle Giant would be endorsing this company. Ridiculous! read more

I called today and my car is on it's way home tomorrow. I always get quick and professional service from American Auto.

We have used them before but this time $150 supplies went missing from our trunk. Various excuses were given including redistibuting the contents due to weight!, can't imagine how that happened!, the get-out not covered for contents (no , but happy to take almost $1000 per trip with money paid upfront , no deposits allowed, ) etc etc. Surely a decent customer service is worth more to a business than a $2000 annual round trip loss of revenue from us and from many of our friends, some current customers and several at least retiring and hoping to do the snowbird annual trip. Their loss, their reputation. read more
