Planes, Trains & Automobiles is happening now!

NIGHTMARE PILOT The AA flight crew which is subcontracted through SkyWest Airlines was completely unprofessional and caused our flight delay and deserve negative stars. I fly a lot and I understand that you can't help Mother Nature but I can't excuse a pilot that dragged his feet because he didn't want to fly. He had a hidden agenda and actually doing his job wasn't on his list of things to do. We were flying from Montreal to Chicago and in the boarding process with our tickets scanned when the pilot asked the gate agents to not board the plane because he said, "There was a ground stop." The gate agents were really upset because the ground stop had not even been issued yet and wasn't going to be issued for another hour. In other words we were suppose to be in the air and in route back to Chicago before any stop to our flight was ever issued. The gate agents made several phone calls and one of the gate agents, actually went on the plane to go talk to the pilot. They kept saying, "I have no idea why he's asking us not to board when the ground stop hasn't even been issued yet." Finally after a long delay we re-boarded the plane. We were all on the plane waiting to go with the door closed. Then after 30 minutes of sitting on the plane, the pilot informed us that a ground stop had just been issued. Surprise! Not! The pilot dragging his feet actually caused our flight delay and he had no urgency. We then sat on the plane until the pilot kicked us all off the plane. We even had to wait to retrieve our bags gate side in the jetway. All of this back and forth because of the pilots unwillingness to actually fly. Talk about hours wasted when we could have been in the air flying to Chicago. By the time we got off the plane and retrieved our gate checked bags...we were then told our new wheels up time was 3:01pm. It's now 2:36pm. Guess what? The pilot is no where to be found. He actually left the gate and the plane. Passengers are informed to not leave the gate area but this didn't apply to this pilot. We should actually be boarding the plane because it takes 30 minutes to board. I'm hoping you can see how screwed up this whole process has been because of this one pilot. At 3:30pm the gate announced we were going to board but needed to wait for the captain for wheels up at 4pm now. Why is the captain not on the plane? We're not allowed to leave the area. The captain actually left the plane at 2:25pm. He walked past us as we waited for our bags on the jet way. This young pilot is acting completely unprofessional. Finally he arrived back at 3:50pm and we boarded at 4pm because the airport needed the gate by 4:30pm. At 5:30pm we are still sitting on the runway not even near the deicers and the captain now tells us he is going to time out for the day. This is ridiculous. The captain acted so erratic the whole time. He didn't want to fly. I could have predicted how this was all going to go down. It was all in the way he acted during this whole process. This was not acceptable. Then at 5:37pm he tells us we are going back to the gate because he has timed out. Guess what? There was a United flight to Chicago and they took off at 5:17pm and were scheduled to depart at 4:41pm. How does another airline jump in front of us for take off? Even though we left the gate before them and were waiting to be cleared. Then the pilot kicked us off the plane for the third time at 6pm and we had to wait for our bags to be unloaded once again at the jet way. Then they locked the doors into the gate area and wouldn't let us back into the terminal. We were now forced to go back through Canadian customs. We didn't fly in to nor did we ever leave Canada in the last 10 hours we've spent at the airport. To add insult to injury AA.com contacted me to tell me our take off time was now 6:06pm after the captain had just returned us to the gate to kick us off the plane for the third time. The gate agents also observed this young pilot acting erratically and weren't happy. He kept getting in and out of his seat. He also kept adjusting his seat like a high person. I've observed pilots but nothing to this extreme. Thanks to this bad pilot we were now stuck at the airport. We were rebooked on the morning flight the next day. We arrived at the airport the at 6am for our new flight and it was delayed until 3pm because they didn't have a crew to fly. This second flight ended getting canceled at 4pm. This whole process was unprofessional. Don't fly the AA route to Montreal because it's subsidized & they don't care about there customers. The subcontracted pilots from SkyWest are unprofessional and play games. AA has informed me they will investigate the pilot but can't tell me any of their findings. So I won't get any closure from this horrible experience. Thanks American Airlines for ruining our trip by making us spend two days in the airport.

I've been flying Delta for a few years since I started doing my yearly trek to Quebec to visit…read morefamily. I've always had great service, and although there were times when my flights were changed, there were always ways to work with them. My outgoing flight (to DTW first) on DL310 was long but the crew was outstanding and so accommodating (even when I disturbed them in the back of the plane to get some water). The flight itself was a bit bumpy at times but smooth overall. I thanked everyone, including both Pilot (Cameron) & Co-pilot (James), plus Flight Attendants Crystal and Kathleen. Going home from my most recent trip on 10/07, my connecting flight to HNL from MSP was cut down to one hour so I panicked because I had no idea how far the next flight was from where i deplaned from Montreal. I remember friends telling me that wheelchairs were available for folks who have problems walking long distances so I called Delta and asked that one be available at MSP. Checking in for the flight was quick and efficient and Junior (the attendant who checked me in and assisted me upon arrival in MSP) made sure I was taken care of, even changing my seat so I would have an aisle seat in the center. On that flight DL5427, Flight attendant Supree stopped at my seat and asked if I needed assistance to my wheelchair. What an amazing crew! Well, voilà!!! As soon as I deplaned in MSP my "chauffeur" awaited, and speedily navigated the airport to the driverless train, all the way to my gate. What a lovely man he was. He was from Kenya and enjoyed working with Delta for many years. I was grateful. PS Only one issue, but it's small. A few years ago I was able to buy a one year pass to use the Sky Lounge, which I found to be an oasis when I had long hours to wait for connecting flights. Now that privilege is no longer available unless you have a special Delta Reserved AMEX card at minimum. That costs big bucks and requires big purchases all year round. I have a Platinum Delta AMEX card and that doesn't qualify. I see young people going into the lounges, but I guess that means they have their parents' privileges. Just saying.

Also the in flight entertainment on the back seat screen were really great with a tons of options definitely would recommand this airline and anytime would reuse it again myself . Only things it might be their lack of french as when I went to Orlando no one on that plane spoke French and since I do I've been asked to do the translation for 2 passengers who weren't speaking English or at least were struggling with it

We had booked an extremely tight connection in Zurich each way (under an hour) and were worried that we'd have to go through customs there before continuing on, as we did on our way to Venice last year when we had a layover in Madrid. Nope, not here. The Zurich airport is one the most efficient I have seen. We simply took a tram from one terminal to the next, which took us about 15 minutes gate to gate. We arrived in plenty of time for our connection on the way over. On the way back, we still had enough time, but we were about 10 minutes late in landing at Zurich (due to high traffic) so then they held our plane to Chicago for 15 minutes to allow other delayed passengers to board. Combining that with a delay in landing at O'Hare (again due to traffic) we were about 20 minutes late in total. Still not that bad though. Service was excellent on all flights. On the way there we moved to an empty 4-person row so I could stretch out. They served plenty of food (and it was pretty tasty, with some swiss chocolates) and lots of drinks and provided free headphones for use with the free seatback entertainment systems that had a great selection of movies and tv shows. Based on the great service, ease of connection in Zurich (where I think pretty much all their flights from Chicago connect) and the low price, I would definately chose Swiss air again.

Very disappointed with my experience with WestJet / Sunwing…read more Our return flight scheduled for 2:20 PM was canceled at the last minute and pushed to 4:50 PM, with no clear explanation or proper communication. And somehow, when we ask for compensation -- which is required by law -- we're suddenly told it was due to a "mechanical issue." Hard to believe when the aircraft had been sitting on the tarmac for several days, seemingly without proper preparation (cleaning, basic maintenance, etc.). On top of that, I have still not been reimbursed for the seat selection I paid for on this canceled flight. This shows a clear lack of transparency and respect for passengers. We deserve better as customers.

The worst travel experience ever and we will never travel with WestJet again. We will also make sure to tell this to all of our friends and family to make sure they do not fly with WestJet as well.

We had a connecting flight, and this was our first time flying on this airline. The issue we had was that we were never notified that our flight was cancelled and/or that it was continuously being delayed. There were no announcements, and when a passenger actually went up to the counter by the gate when it was time to board (stated on the ticket), only then were the passengers informed that such were affected. The monitors do not reflect the updated times, the updated gates, and the verbal announcements come after the fact when one makes an inquiry. There were also no given estimates on the delay, or when the boarding process begins. In addition, boarding the plane seats those who are assigned at the rear of the plane and up, but the passengers did not seem to respect the queue - there was budging left and right! Porter planes in general are more on the outdated end, but there was a decent amount of legroom, a nice quarterly magazine for the taking, and snacks/drinks on the plane (including complimentary red and white wine). Small carry-ons are allowed, but most luggages will be checked-in at the gate, in which you wait in a queue to grab before you leave (and, yes, passengers still cut the queue). While the staff members were super nice and did try to accommodate the passengers for the cancelled/delayed flights, those who are not too flexible with their plans will have an issue. +no announcements reflected on the monitor/over PA +no updates on cancelled/delayed flights +no given estimates on delays +friendly staff members
