They charge you €2 per person for the silverware, then charge you €0.50 for a spoon full of ketchup. We each had a container of fries to go with our sandwiches, so one small thing of ketchup was not nearly enough. Obviously, we ordered more, hoping they'd bring us a ketchup bottle. Nope, because they were charging for the ketchup, we didn't see that till the bill came. My daughter had the cheeseburger. According to her, she has never eaten such a dry, crunchy burger in her life. Obviously, she didn't finish because it was hard to get down. As for me, I tried the recommendation of the tour guide. Big mistake! The classic Florentine sandwich, the Lampredotto. I should've known better, but I'm willing to try anything once. It was a chew, tasteless, slimy sandwich. You can't eat it like a sandwich because it's so wet and soggy that it falls apart. You need a knife and fork. You needed the ketchup that they gave up by the spoonful, and still, it was tasteless. This is not a place I recommend to anyone. If you're used to eating juicy burgers, this is not the place for you.

I would say the burgers have gotten even better now (not as rare). I never run into Americans in Perugia, except here...they must be doing something right!

And the pasta and pizza are spectacular here, but I never thought I would find such a great gastropub here. This restaurant would do really well in California. With amazing burgers with unique ingredients and high quality beef, plus great craft beers and a modern yet simple decor. I love The Italian Burger. My favorite burger is the Volare which you can get extra spicy, the fries are really good too, they also carry a big selection of paninnis, I tried one with prosciutto and avocado, and a vegetarian one with eggplant and mushrooms. You know I am a fan since I have eaten here twice in less than a week. Grazie!

Having tired of Italian food, the choices on the menu made me °homesick° for a few moments, so I orded the Cheeseburger and fries (only $6.50 euros). Surprisingly, the meat was extraordinary, not one of those frozen patties, the french fries were spectacular, and the burger was topped with cheese, lettuce, and tomato. The quality of ingredients were all good, particularly the tomato which was comparable to organic plum tomatoes in the US. Even though the waitress spoke no English, we had no trouble communicating with her in our broken Italian. FYI-- if you are starving at 7:00 pm, this is the only decent place that is open and serving decent grub. All of the other good places are closed, choosing to open at 8 pm, which is much too late for us! FFYI -- They have an immaculate bathroom and the toilet actually has a seat (a rarity at public restrooms in Italy). They got one extra star because of this....LOL
