History

Established in 1996.

When Ameritek first opened their doors in 1996, the primary focus of the business was building and re-manufacturing toner cartridges in a small office. We enjoyed great success during the first five years and with the industry growing and changing, we decided to take on the Minolta line of copiers. Konica and Minolta merged in 2003, creating an excellent product and becoming the leading producer in the copier industry, Konica Minolta Business Systems. Ameritek is now the largest independent Konica Minolta dealer in Alabama and the largest Konica Minolta printer dealer in the Southeast region. Since that time our company has grown significantly and now has offices located in Guntersville, Huntsville, and Birmingham, AL, with more than 45 employees.

Meet the Business Owner: Craig C.

Craig Cheek started in the business back in 1987, when the laser printing phenomenon was first starting to take off. At the time he was a copier salesman and was decided to try re-manufacturing toner cartridges on the side as a way to make some ancillary income. Eventually, his toner side-job became too demanding for him to support it working only part-time and so he left his "real job" and started full-time into his own business. Through a number of mergers, the business grew until he combined forces with Ameritek, a company out of Guntersville AL. Craig still works out of the Huntsville office, using his decades of experience to find solutions to the problems unique to the industry. His greatest joy in the company is the freedom to think-outside of a corporate structure in order to meet customer requests in a creative and yet logical fashion.
