The carpet was installed very well, as expected. For me, this was a "test run" for a couple of larger carpet or flooring projects, yet to come in the next year or two. After we interviewed a few contractors, we decided to switch to Action Carpet and Floor Covering. Now I know what you're thinking because there's nothing in their name to suggest they do full bathroom make-overs, but they sure do. Their Chief Estimator Kevin came to the house, asked us what we had in mind, took a bunch or measurements and in a few days e-mailed us with two options. We had a few back and forth e-mails, made some adjustments, went into the store to select subway tile for the shower walls and a mosaic tile for the shower floor, and in a few days we were all set with an agreed price and scope. On Day One the old vanity, sink, and medicine cabinet were demolished, the toilet was detached to be reset after the floor was replaced, the old shower door, shower ceramic tiles and drywall were removed, the new shower pan and base were replaced, and replacement of the new water resistant sheetrock on the shower walls began. We had three workers here most of the day and they were an all business, no-nonsense group, arriving promptly as promised. They removed all of the debris and left the workspace pretty clean. On Day Two the ceramic subway tile was installed on the shower walls and the ceramic mosaic tile was installed on the shower floor. Grouting for both should be tomorrow. On Day three, the tile was grouted, the shower ceiling light was installed, and installation of the bead board paneling on the walls began. Day Four was a big day!! The showerhead and water valve control were installed, new light bar, vanity and countertop were installed, the new vinyl plank flooring was installed, as were new window casings and floor heat vent. Day Five saw the new medicine cabinet and faucet installed, towel bar, and water lines connected. The existing toilet and TP holder were reinstalled. This pretty much finished the job, but there were some minor unresolved delays with the shower door and shower soap tray. It took a while to iron out those things and we did have some sales tax adjustments on things that were ordered but not included in the final job. We want to give a special shout out to Todd (the primary rebuilding contractor) and his assistant Tim. They were fantastic, meticulous in their craft, and a real pleasure to work with.

I called Scott he explained he just had a knee Replacement and was hurting and would get it done for me. Next day Scott with 2 canes and his helper AJ came and Scott insisted he walk up 13 stairs To get the job done. I live In Simsbury a good drive away. I set him in a chair in the doorway and he gave AJ the plan In 2.5 hrs job was compleated and Scott 70 plus years old 2 canes with me in the front walked down 13 stairs to his truck. His company 45 years old AJ and Scott should get A Medal!!! Never seen more determination in a human in my life. First, Keith showed up right away to get measurements and to get us an estimate He helped us pick out new cabinets, countertops, flooring, tile, paint, shower enclosure, shower door and fixtures. I had no idea there were so many decisions to be made and Keith was very patient with me and answered all my questions every step of the way. He also told me when he thought I could repurpose what I already had in my bathroom instead of spending money replacing a relatively new toilet and vanity. Keith also called us regularly to see if we had any questions for him and to check on the progress. He and his team are professional, friendly, courteous and take care of everything down to the tiniest detail. They show up when they say they will, the work is done well and quickly. Also, every day when they left, the kitchen was as usable as possible and it was clean. We were never without a refrigerator, stove, sink, or microwave. Our remodel took a total of 6 weeks and I can't stop smiling when I look at the new kitchen and bathroom that was created. Every detail was attended to and it was an amazing experience. Steven, the owner stopped over to take a look at our floor, measure etc. I was a bit thrown off when he asked where he should send the estimate as our builder Elzear was 100% going to stand behind his worker that caused the damage and pay Dalene whatever the cost was. Not sure he understands it was Dalene that came up with the idea of waiting until the entire floors need a refinishing to take care of our punch list item (This should have been relayed to Elzear by Dalene so he would not be surprised years later since it was Dalene's proposition) I.e. The refinishing in front of our refrigerator that that was damaged when our builder installed it. We lived with the marred surface on our brand-new home only to have Dalene not come through on their what seemed to be reasonable, albeit now to be more of a delay tactic idea on waiting.

I don't use price as my final determination. I also checked his reviews and they were all excellent. Shane came over my house to give me an estimate and show me some carpet samples. He was very professional and polite. I chose my carpet, put down a deposit and Shane told me when he expected the carpet to come in. He did advise me that there might be a delay due to supply chain issues. While waiting for the carpet, Shane was easy to get a hold of and he was very communicative. The carpet came in when he thought it would and we scheduled the install. When Shane arrived to install the carpet he was very careful and meticulous. He put down clean gripping drop cloths wherever it was necessary while he worked. He made sure that his tools and carpet weren't in the way of foot traffic. Shane is a hard worker and you can see the pride he takes in his work. He completely moved our bedroom furniture, removed the old carpet and pad and installed the new carpet, and replaced our bedroom furniture, in one bedroom, in one day. He not only installed the new carpet but he fixed a squeak we had in the floors of both bedrooms. Shane made sure we were happy with the furniture placement and was very careful moving it. The next day, Shane removed the furniture, removed the old carpet, installed the new carpet and replaced the furniture in our smaller bedroom/office, in a half a day. The products Shane uses are top of the line, unlike Home Depot and he goes above and beyond when installing the carpet.
