Angel's Mane Event. Let's do it. Again.
Well, well done--really. You don't say? Angel, did it again. With ethereal, feline prowess, Angel, of Amen African Braids, worked wonders on my hair again. And this time it's even more dynamic and special and pretty amazing (see images by Rita Bellouze of Oui & Thee LLC) because I was her last appointment of the day. And indeed, she closed and locked the salon door late into the PM, which is late for a salon anywhere except perhaps New York or Singapore or London and may not be typical of the average weekday experience. In cities like I just mentioned, you'll find digs with a cosmopolitan black and white pallet, as well as sophisticated women stylistically designing tresses while wearing designer makeup, hair, and a kind of uniform with a black and white pallet. And you'll find the same at Amen African Braids. My preferred of the two salons is in the plaza at at the north west corner of the Pulaski and Foster intersection
Now, the large oval mirrors are strategically placed on the walls so that the client is unaware of the stylist's modus operandi: to reveal all at the end of the clip. While a procedure of sorts is being performed on the hair, clients can gaze at the calming TV screen which play music with the newest beats. One can also gaze out of the window to see the tops of the parking lot lights which look remarkably like swans... Or the client can watch a movie on their phone with their earplugs in because it's going to be worth it for that big reveal several hours later. And true form, whether in the small handheld mirror, or in the larger ovals, you'll extend your arm and reach up and touch your glam with glee. And you'll know that it was worth it--the drive, the hike, the walk, however, you arrived, it was worth it this time and will be worth it again. Let the community say amen. Amen African Braids. Braiding all types and colors of hair. Come on come on come on, community. Glam up your résumé while Angel, glams up your hair. Then pick up some sushi at Jewel Osco and copy your passport before your London debut. Come out! Walk, bike, jog, or drive like I did because there is plenty of parking in the plaza and it's very secure for all modes of transportation, including your bike, right? Yes.
