Amelia Overhead Doors came in just a touch higher than the others with their quote ($100), but once I did some research on my own about the door brand (read: QUALITY) they were installing, we went with them. The guys were courteous, hard-working, efficient and professional - they removed the old wooden door and installed the new one in just two hours. It was clear to me that they take pride in their work because everything was perfect, including the careful routing of the wires for the opener and the way they beveled the trim to match our wonky asphalt. I installed the cat door immediately and saw how much foam insulation was inside - this door is going to be a fantastic addition during the winter, since our garage is also insulated. I've been using Amelia overhead over 30 years. When I built garages back then, they were my go to company. In the last 12 years it's been installations on my home and a 10x10 door at my Dads. They always have excellent prices, nice people in the office and installing. I've purchased 3 garage doors and openers at 3 different times, all were low clearance installations which required a visit ahead of time. They are really busy, if I could suggest one thing to improve is adding someone to help follow up and/or scheduling. I had to be a little more proactive getting my last opener installed but it's a minor thing when everything else is great, I'm a lifetime customer and highly recommend them. read more

These folks came recommended by a friend, and boy am I glad I listened. I spoke with Dianne on the phone and she was helpful and responsive. I sent her some photos, and within two days she had scheduled a technician to come and adjust our door (used inside our office to separate our conference room from the break room.) The technician, Chad, was courteous and prompt. He checked in with me mid-way to make sure the adjustments were what I wanted. Then he took the time to explain how to maintain and use the door to extend it's life. When I received the bill, I couldn't believe how low it was, even with the travel time added in. My garage door opener spring broke the week between Christmas and New Year. I called and the receptionist told me that the service department was backed up because of the holidays but offered to send someone out if my wife's car was trapped. She asked if I could give her the door measurements and while I was on the phone she talked with the service manager and gave me an estimate. Two days later I got a call from the service manager, who scheduled the repair. The installer called 30 minutes before arrival. He was on time and very efficient and knowledgeable. I was very happy with the service I received for my garage door opener. I called on a Friday to make the appointment, because they don't work on weekends, my appointment was made for Monday and told the service tech would call first before coming. Josh called when he was on his way, he was polite, and knowledgeable and repaired the problem within 45 minutes!!! I have had Amelia Overhead Doors come repair our garage door three times over the past 15 years. Two times, they had to repair a spring (which trapped our cars in the garage) This past weekend, a tech had to come put the door back on the track after a mishap with an umbrella getting caught. Everyone I dealt with was very nice and professional. The price Amelia gave me for my door was 50% of what Sears gave me for their version of the same product. The service was done in a timely manner and no mess was left. The only issue I can mention is that the first time I called requesting a salesman come out for an estimate no one ever called or showed up. I'm selling my home and the garage door fail the inspection. The electric eye worked but the reverse didn't work when a block was placed under the door. I called Amelia Overhead Door on Friday and the were here on Monday. Called 30 minutes before coming and were here within that timeframe. Service has been quick and professional with only one "hiccup" on a spring replacement where the door's spring tension was not fully balanced, ....at least to my standards. The people at Amelia Overhead Doors were very nice. Overall they did a good job installing my new garage door opener. The only problem I had was they plugged the opener into an outlet that already controlled the other garage lights. When they left , I shut the lights off and it powered the whole system down.
