Take an old church, make it bright blue and turn it into a biking skiing disc golf store? Oh yeah,…read moreI'm loving this. First thing - Disc golf! I'm pretty sure this is THE store in Calgary for Disc Golf and Disc Golf accessories. I'm not huge into this world, but I've never seen this kind of selection at any other store in the city. There's something so satisfying about the way the old hardwood floors creak as you walk around them perusing some sexy Devinci mountain bikes. I've bought some bike accessories from this store, including my floor pump and several expensive tubes (until I learned that $5-$7 tubes do in fact still exist and you don't need to waste your money.) But for some reason I keep skipping them on the bigger items. Keeping in mind I usually want some niche high end mountain biking or fixie gear, this store would be for you if you're... well if you're not a mountain bike freerider/fixed gear hipster. Commuters, road bikers, and anyone who's a fan of Opus or Devinci may very well find a happy home here. The staff have always been friendly and helpful. If you're into disc golf, definitely go here. If you're into cycling, they'd well be worth a visit as you're shopping around. I haven't usually found the thing I'm personally looking for here, but the investigation has always been helpful.

These guys rate top honors for fantastic selection of everything a great bike shop should have. They have top quality bikes in every price range. I ended up walking out with a Pinarello Dogma and weeks later I still can't quit smiling. They are a complete bike fitting stop as well. The owner right there and hands on and his staff is top shelf. They also have an indoor spin room with the latest smart trainers. They are very responsive in dealing with questions on bikes and parts and they can basically find you anything, even if they don't have it in stock. I went on one of their group road rides during the week and they are really fun to ride with and other customers seem to really advocate for the shop as well. They carry a lot from brands like Giant, Norco and Specialized. The prices are competitive.

It pays to be curious. Last summer's visit to CC Pure was so positive that I had to come back when…read moreI revisited my mountain bike selection journey. I spent the last month researching all things mountain bikes - I bought my last bike in 2001... it's been quite the learning curve. Bikes are in limited supply in Calgary, and some shops are using the global scarcity as a way to pressure a purchase, or at the least, get a 30% deposit. I restarted my search a month ago, beginning at Pure. Great experience. I demoed a couple different bikes. Then, I demoed two more bikes at CC Bow Trail (not so positive - more interested in making a sale than helping me), and then another demo at a Bowness shop (very positive experience). Yesterday, having narrowed down my search, I went back into Pure. Coming in at 5:30pm (they close at 6pm) didn't phase them. Cole was the sales rep and treated me great, as did other guys who helped me choose some pedals. The store was closing, and here Cole is offering me a demo ride. Even though I was somewhat certain about my purchase, Cole never once rushed me or the sale. It was around 6:30pm when I paid for the bike - 30min past closing. Big thanks to the guys at CC Pure. Helpful, patient, kind... and one happy customer with a new Santa Cruz Bronson + new set of clip-in pedals. Sincere gratitude for all the help.

I didn't ask to be compensated and they didn't offer. I told them that I wouldn't be bringing it in based on the experience and they didn't offer. all in all I think they took the whole thing pretty well and didn't seem like it was a situation the were unaccustomed to. good luck! Avi, STT Electrix proprietor, saved our bike…read more We took our e-bike in to a different shop last May to have a rear flat changed. On our bike the motor is on the rear hub, so there are a lot of wires to contend with. It seems this shop broke the main wire from the torque sensor to the controller. They repaired it by twisting the broken wires together and taping it up, and not telling us about it. Of course the pedal assist did not work consistently after this. When we took it back, they said it was an old bike and just a coincidence that it stopped working during the time it was in their shop. They ultimately proposed a new pedal sensor, and even a whole new controller mechanism, total estimate 600.00!! We declined and went to find a 2nd opinion. That's when we found Avi at STT Electrix. He was upfront about how busy he was, and had us book in for an appointment. He ended up determining the sensor and controller were still working, just not hooked up properly. He fixed the damage the other shop caused and got our bike running like new again. Bravo Maestro! Through-out the process, he kept us informed and seemed determined to keep the final bill reasonable, even though he was doing detective work and ultimately cleaning up some one else's mess and cover up. We are very happy with the results and recommend him highly. WE GOT OUR BIKE BACK! Avi's the best!

Sadly, I was forced to go there for a specific product that was out of stock elsewhere in the city. Worst bike shop in Calgary in my opinion. I would recommend The Bike Shop, Ridley's, Bow Cycle, and Bike & Brew if you want friendly, knowledgeable staff. Many years ago, Sean, the owner of BikeBike and I were on a group ride together and we had a conversation about a bike I purchased from his shop. I mentioned that I hadn't brought it back for the first complimentary tune up yet but well over a year expired since I purchased the bike. Sean told me that it was no problem and that he'd still tune it up for me free of charge. I brought the bike in a few days later and he tried to charge me for the tune up. I remined him of the conversation that happened a few days earlier but he denied the conversation ever happened. I don't think you'll see me in 8 years Sean. I do know that anyone with a set of ears will hear about the crappy service that I received 8 years ago as well as last week.
