I have thought long and hard about this review, but I don't want anyone to go through what I did
July 17th- My friend takes my bike to your shop, with a plastic box of the parts. Instructions were given to clean my bike, I was told will get the bike on the 29th get quoted 60-100. July 19-I personally go to the shop to enquire about what they are doing. I'm glad I did because we were not on the same page. I didn't know the name of the parts, so I literally pointed at a bike and said rear cassette, chain, rear derailleur, crank, and front derailleur. Guy tells me don't worry we have an ultrasonic machine it will look clean. I say sure sounds good!
July 29th no call
July 30th I call, guy tells me that he hasn't started on my bike like it's a joke. He will start working on it he calls in like an hour telling me the price is going to be 300. Trust me, I'm confused. He says my bike has missing parts, I tell him to check the plastic box, he says what plastic box then proceeds to find it we agree to a cap of 200. Calls me on the long weekend telling me it's good to go. Aug 6th(they are closed on Tues/Wed) I go to the store. The actual work done is he put all the components together and tells me he changed my breaks; I know the brakes don't really work but that was not on the agreed scope of work. He then tells me oh man I must feel safe about my work, but now your break works. Changed the cable, brake unit, and the housing (horrible cutting of cable as well could have done a clean job). Then tells me your piece that holds your rear cassette through the wheel was bent so I had to change that, (I have shown that piece you gave back to a lot of people and no one can see a bend)
I look at the said rear cassette, chain, rear derailleur, crank and front derailleur tells me its clean and it really not, looks exactly the same proceeds to tell me my front derailleur is jammed ad I should soak it to see if it works. (I thought that was what an ultrasonic machine is used for) Then proceeds to charge me for 201 dollars. (150 odds for labor 50 for parts?)
Honestly, I feel ripped off literally nothing was done on my bike apart from fixed a break that worked (the guy literally fixed the one that worked and not the one that didn't.) If I could, I would give you negative stars. Horrendous experience
To the guy who works there.
Do not understand why you ripped me off for putting my bike parts together. I understand you got to make money but not cool dude. Also, you might want to change your safety standard man. I had taken my crankshaft nut off the bike. If you would have actually taken the crank and the parts off to clean and ultrasonic and If you had any safety standard you would have said hey you know you have no crank nut yeah? So disappointing read more
