Bought a ebike from ridleys. Had an accendent and they got the part in from the manufacturer . it was the end of the summer so it was hard to determine the repair. finally this year 2025-. Zach the service manager contacted the manufacturer and they were going to send me multipale parts to test ..Zach argued that wouild be to inconvienent for there customer so after his input they snet me a new bike. Recently made a purchase at Ridley's and the customer service is exceptional. I had requested tubeless tires and was travelling 400 km to pick up my bike so I wanted it ready to go. After returning home, I checked the tires and thought that Ridleys had forgotten to make them tubeless. Greg made arrangements for me to get the work done locally. As it turned out, they were tubeless. Greg went out of his way to send me out the door as a satisfied customer. I recommend this store if you are looking to make a purchase. Sometimes it is hard to find businesses that truly want to see their customers satisfied and to be a return customer. I will be a return customer. My wife bought the Liv Embolden e-mountain bike from Ridley's Westhills earlier this summer . Great service and the bike is awesome. The bike recently had a gear shift issue, so I took it back to Ridley's Westhills to have it looked at. Got immediate service. The tech popped it up on the rack and found the problem and fixed it on the spot. He also noted that the rear derailer was out of line, and viola, he fixed that too. In and out in under 30 mins. I brought my bike in for a tune-up, but the Staff at Ridley's were more concerned about selling me new parts than about making the necessary repairs. My bike needed a tune-up and so I brought it in to the shop at Ridley's in Kensington. The staff were friendly enough, but scattered across the store and I wasn't sure wear to go or who to talk to about my bike's maintenance. I waited patiently to be helped at the far desk where a technician eventually inspected my bike and immediately tried to up-sale me new parts (despite the fact that I had purchased new parts last year). Moreover, they did not currently have many of the "needed" parts in stock. I made it clear that I needed a simple adjustment, and agreed to come back the next day to pick up my bike. When I returned the next day, the bike had not yet been looked at, and so I wandered around Kensington for close to an hour as they completed my basic bike maintenance. I gave them payment, since they had cleaned my bike, but there was no noticeable change in my bike's performance. Nothing had been tuned-up. I am very disappointed and I want my money back. read more

Wow. Worst service. Hey guys! My bad. Moved here from Edmonton recently and brought my bike in to your shop for some seasonal maintenance. I had no idea you had the rite to be sarcastic and insulting with regard to my bike because it isn't as nice and as cool and as expensive as yours. I'll just put away a few thousand dollars and invest in a bike I'll use 5-6 months out of the year because I'm only a casual cyclist. I really really apologize about that. Should have done my homework. I've tried really hard to maintain this bike I have and took it into my local cycle shop in Edmonton a few times a year for the last few years and never had any trouble. Now I know your standards are much higher than mine. Again I apologize. I'll go get a much better more expensive bike from any store but yours and I will NEVER EVER set foot in your shop again. Stepped into the store (bike in pieces in my hands) and explained that my handlebars had been stolen in Vancouver. I was not greeted but asked the question "do you have an appointment?" And "we cannot accommodate you until July 9". I then asked if they could recommend another location that might be able to accommodate me sooner and the response was "nope!". This was the worst customer service I received in a long time. My business goes to Lifesport where I was greeted, commiserated with and accommodated day-of. read more

I will be buying my new bike from Ridley's after disappointment at The Bike Shop. MEC had a similar bike for $10 less than the Ridley's bike, but the option of free tune-ups for life sold me. I might be a little soft on Ridley's because I got my first bike here. You'll skip the junky low end stuff as they deal mostly in Trek and Giant in the mountain bike world. Likewise - everyday cyclists looking for a decent quality ride without breaking the bank to a ridiculous extend will probably be able to find something here. read more

Ridley's Cycle has some of the best customer service in Calgary. Period. Bike shops are notorious for making someone new to the sport or a casual cyclist uncomfortable -not Ridley's Cycle. They happily help anyone whether you are a hardcore distance cyclist looking for a specific part or if you're someone completely new to cycling and you just want to ask some questions. I personally, as a semi-avid cyclist, have bought a few bikes from them and will continue to employ their services regularly. read more

I brought in 2 Trek bikes for repair. The estimate was almost $300. I needed 3 wheels replaced according to service department. Earliest appointment was 3 weeks. I waited the time and when I brought in the bike I was told they had to order the wheel and it would be another 7 to 10 days. I don't understand when you take bike in for an estimate then wait 3 weeks then be told they need to order parts.... I left angry. Took bike to Bowcycle. They fixed it in a few hours and charged ONLY 58 DOLLARS. read more

Got a basic tune up on my older mountain bike. Think they put air in the tires but not much else. Bike isn't cleaned at all. I really wanted the wheels trued up, but they look the same as when I took it in. I don't feel I got any value for my money. They give you a report when you pick up your bike that doesn't tell you much. There are way better places to take your bike in Calgary, I have since done my homework. read more

If you're in to spending a ridiculous amount on a bike, might as well go to the real experts, Speed Theory right in front of MEC downtown. They wont bullshit you with cocky comments that "they have been doing this for how many years". They will hook you're bike in a a computer and give you hard facts!! I puchased 2 Trek Bikes from Ridleys and thier was a recall to fix a bolt that clamps the saddle to the seatpost. The bolt can break, causing the bicycle rider to fall. The manager at Ridleys did not want to fixe it so we had to complain to the Trek dealer and went to B&P to get a replacement. Very bad Service, especially when it was only a $5 part read more

Hadnt bought a bike in over 15 years! Visited a few places in town, and loved the customer service at Ridleys. Not pushy. Very knowledgeable, helpful , patient and actually listened to my needs rather than selling me the most expensive bike. Answered all my questions and yes, I ask a lot of questions. Great service! I would highly recommend them. I ended up dealing with 3 staff members - Jon, Shawn and Paul - each one helpful. I can't say enough good things about this place. The staff is friendly and easy going unlike those uppity slacker princes at The Bike Shop. I purchased a mountain bike here for myself and went back to buy a simple bike for my wife because the service was so good on my first purchase. I also take my bike here exclusively for service because its the only place i've been where I haven't been met with a bunch of fast talk trying to convince me I need some expensive repair/upgrade that is likely unnecessary for my simple road biking needs (again, The Bike Shop, im looking in your direction). Josh in service has been especially helpful in both explaining things in common vernacular as well as offering some money saving options on repairs. He has consistently gone above and beyond in terms of customer service and has stayed past closing on more than one occasion with me. I'm a customer for life. A++ read more
