When we arrived, there was popcorn left on the seat from the previous guests, which was in plain sight and made it seem like the area hadn't been cleaned as well as it should have been. We sat in one of the family-style rooms. The concept is nice, but the volume was turned up way too loud, which made it a little hard to relax and enjoy the experience. The seats were comfortable at first, but after about an hour they started to feel pretty uncomfortable. This is a theater I visit often, and I love seeing the recent upgrades! The addition of Dolby Cinema and new recliners is a huge plus. However, some of the older auditoriums-specifically the ones toward the back-could use some refurbishment. During my last visit, I sat in the center of a row, and every time I leaned back, the four seats next to me moved in unison. It definitely feels like the seating hardware needs a safety check. That aside, the snacks are great and the service is exactly what you'd expect from a standard AMC. It might not have the same luxury feel of the old Cinetopia days, but it's still a solid, reliable choice for a movie night at the mall. read more

You know I loved it when it was cinetopia. As amc meh. But they did not change the architecture. I love the living room theater. Only way to watch new movies. The popcorn is pretty good and the pretzels. Free refills on large sodas and and popcorn. Of course the food and drink items are pricey, but atleast the staff are friendly. read more

Went to this AMC to watch the Superman 2025 movie. We went in the GCL experience which was very similar to IMAX. The seats were quite comfortable and the screens were nice. Audio quality was solid as well. My dad needed a wheelchair and they were friendly and helped accommodate. Overall positive experience at the theater. We also liked how they had free water cups. Only went once and my experience was good, so not sure why there's so many negative reviews. Perhaps if I went more times, I may notice more aspects but for now seemed good. read more

Went to see a kids movie so of course we had to be downstairs. Downstairs is downgraded and the upstairs is the comfortable seating of course. When I was sitting in auditorium 8 in the far back seats watching a movie tolerating for a couple of hours it was annoying. View was fin but the chairs made cheap shiney slippery leather that I kept slipping as Im just wearing cotton fabrics. Moved around a lot and couldn't enjoy the movie. It's worse than sitting in a plane with spirit airlines seating and I could even tolerate being on an airplane than this. The auditorium was clean and lay out was nice. But they need to change the seating. Mind you I'm healthy and don't have any back problems. Im usually good about tolerating most things but this was the worse seats ever. Upstairs in the Parlor rooms of course are nice and plush but they can't half ass it. read more

I returned here on 8/15/25 to watch the movie Freakier Friday. We got a large popcorn and large drinks. We sat in theater room #8. We sat all the way up at the top on the opposite side of the Enterance on the end. When we got seated in our seats. The bottom of the seat seemed to be broke and was tilted toward and lower in the front. The movie was great. The popcorn was fresh, and the drinks had free refills. The one star raiting is not based on the popcorn, drinks, or the movie. It is based only on the comfort of the seating. This place needs a remodel in their theater seating. When people pay good money for a movie ticket. They deserve comfortable seating. This is the second time I have been here in a month and both reviews in 2 different theater rooms was very uncomfortable! I guess Regal Theater is my choice from now on. read more

Auditorium 21 is on the 2nd floor. It is a row of seats for adult only 21+. The seats were torn up. You have room rest which is decent if no one is walking by. The section could us a update. You can are far back and high up to see the bottom of the movie screen. Overall, parking was easy and they had the bucket I wanted. read more

I've been coming to this theater since it was Cinetopia. Usually I go to the big screen GXL theater. This time, opted to try their 21 & over theater. The screen was smaller of course, than the big theater with GXL. But I did love how comfortable the loveseats were, and the ottoman to put my feet up. I Went to go see Moana and during the whole movie, the sound kept cutting in and out. Wasn't able to fully watch the movie. Also, the difference in seats want to see wicked the week prior and I have recliner chairs, but in Moana you're just some basic seating. Tickets were the same price. read more

It's been years since I've been in a movie theater. Stopped in last night and the staff was so nice and friendly. The young gentleman working the concession stand was so friendly and happy. Greeted us with a smile and such good vibes and energy. When my husband and I walked into our theater room, I realized I had accidentally gotten regular seats and I meant to buy 21+ seats. The young man working the front was so kind and allowed us to switch to 21+ seats with no hassle or issues at all. It is literally no wonder the movie theater industry is dying. The pandemic taught most of us that we can tolerate our entertainment at home. As is with most places in public, movie theaters are good breeding grounds for germs, so coming and partaking in a movie with a group of other strangers better yield a positive experience. There is something magical about watching an amazing movie with a giant crowd (ie. RRR), but those films are few and far between nowadays. I don't subscribe to monthly cinema programs because I don't really want to see everything, but when I do come, I would like the place dark and quiet so that the movie can truly be enjoyed. You still have to deal with the nitwit talkers, and testers from time to time, but damn - the snack packaging is plastic and noise a lot of the times so you have to contend with that. Maybe offer some small paper cups so that the contents of these bags can be emptied before the endless barrage of trailers ends. That wasn't a particular issue at this screening, but it has been a long one coming. Today the trailers ended and the ceiling lights dimmed, but these side lights stayed on. While this was a quick iPhone photo that held the iris a little longer than usual, make no mistake these lights were bright. I spent a good 30 minutes of the almost three hour movie noticing them and trying to ignore them. The only light one should see in a movie theater is the Exit sign and the image bouncing off the screen. That's it. I thought about going and finding someone, but this place is a ghost town, there was barely one employee for selling tickets and concessions for the entire second floor. Actual crimes could be committed and nobody working here would find out about it. So upon leaving and bringing it up to an employee - she said its because of tripping hazards. I know the seats below have no tripping hazards, and these seats with the ottomans are way behind these lights. So if this is seriously the theater's response....Sure, Jan. Ok. The ottomans can be a little tricky as they can either be against the wall or pulled towards the seat. It is obvious from any angle that these movie theater companies are not spending any money on anything to improve the experience. They want you to drop nearly $30 on a concessions bundle when you buy your ticket online. I've been in the bigger auditoriums many times. I've seen a good 10+ films at this theater alone in the last two years and these lights weren't that bright. I am certainly not coming back if this is the new normal. AMC likes to use Nicole Kidman's fancy accent to tell us all "We Make Movies Better" just before the overhead lights dim. No AMC. No. You aren't making movies better at the Vancouver Mall 23. read more

This is my go-to movie theater. It's convenient, the price is right (join there A list club for cheaper tickets and money back rewards), and the theaters are clean. Could it be better? I'm sure it could but all in all, it serves its purpose and we happily attend at least twice a month. Idk what all the fuss is about in the bad reviews. Worst seats in any theater I've ever been. Shockingly uncomfortable seats. Very short seat that tilts slightly forward and slippery. Backs recline ONLY in combination with seat itself, meaning you have to push constantly with your legs on the floor to get entire seat to recline. And you must recline to be aligned with high screen. Walked out 5 minutes into movie. Popcorn mediocre. Staff very friendly. We had to get a seat change initially because of broken seats. If there were such a thing as a negative star- that's what this theater would get. read more

The sound is terrible!! Had a weird cracking noise the whole time. This is my absolute biggest complaint. There is no outside entrance. You have to go inside the mall and walk to it and there's no real easy way to get there. Confusing layout and uncomfortable seats. read more

they didnt let us buy food, they didnt give us our ticket on time. we couldnt leave even with our ticket, they made us wait inside and called security for no reason. they kicked us out and the only reason they gave was that we had our feet up, even with nobody infront of us. I used to go to this theatre when it was a Cinetopia, and I was actually really excited for it to become an AMC as we had AMC's on the East Coast that were SUPER nice (like, electric reclining seats and booze in the theatre nice). This is not that AMC. Cinetopia had let the place go down hill toward the end of its life, and we hoped AMC would revamp the place. Unfortunately from my last 4-5 visits, they just rebranded Cinetopia's leftovers. Yes, they got Coca-Cola Freestyle machines which is very nice. But their bar got worse (its pay per drink, you can't run a tab, and you can't take the drink to your seats anymore), their upstairs concessions charges 15 dollars for a pretzel (seriously) and almost is never open (they only regularly keep the downstairs open), and the seats are ripped and often not clean. On the past two visits we had to find an usher (which was difficult upstairs) and then have them come and clean the seats/footstools because they were greasy from someone's buttered popcorn fingers. The floors were sticky too, and we were the first showing of the day which tells me they didn't clean it the night before. It's the closest to our home which is why we go, but they really need to put less money into advertising and more into actually fixing up their theatres. read more

I've now come here for 3 movies over the last 6 months. I gave a huge pass this summer with COVID closing everything. But I've never been in a more disgusting bathroom as I have here. EVERY. TIME. I'll caution to say that I'm a facility manager so I've seen some messed up stuff. But here we are 6 months later and I'm now certain that no one is cleaning these bathrooms and they're DISGUSTING. WTH are the employees doing here between movies???? I've gone to the bathroom twice and both times have seen 2 people at the ticket check in when no one is up here. One of them could be cleaning?!?!? I've always loved this theater since it was a Cinetopia. It's basically just had a name change, I'm not even kidding. (It was lowkey painful seeing how exactly the same it was, honestly.) It's a big theater, with so many screens that you'd think they'd get every movie. But that's not the case, they stick to the usual close to 12-15. I think I've gone to the snack bar ONCE, but my MOM went, and I just waited with her. So I can't speak on that, or anything else besides the screen rooms. They have pretty good screen rooms that are pretty comfortable. Then they've got their high quality ones, and their low quality ones. Their low ones are unfortunately small and uncomfortable. I think they're usually reserved for less popular/leaving soon movies. Although they usually try to stick to popular movies, so usually less popular just means ranking all the popular ones, and choosing one of those. Not something obscure. It's in the mall, which is nice. Vancouver (not Westfield anymore, weird) Mall is my favorite mall to go to. Maybe not my favorite overall, but too easy to access, to say a Portland hard to access one is better. I think the quality of employees is normal, not stand out amazing or horrible, just good. I guess their missing outdoor access/a closer mall outdoor access. I think every entrance to the mall puts it a bit of a walk away. But within the mall while shopping, it's super easy. I wish I could leave negative stars. How the mighty have fallen. AMC has absolutely ruined what was once Cinetopia. What was once a very desirable venue for an evening out has become a shameful absolute goddamn dump Not only are the auditoriums complete threadbare, torn up getto which AMC can't be bothered to maintain, but all former food services are now a joke. Not only are they unable to maintain what now passes for a pathetic concessions menu but they can't even keep the napkin supply stocked. (Who doesn't love going home covered in fake butter grease for lack of the ability to wipe their hands?) The prices for this dump are beyond insulting and the seating is worn and uncomfortable. I have literally walked out of two recent blockbuster films in the course fo a single week due to the piss-poor service and unmaintained seating discomfort. I will be formally contacting AMC to demand refunds for less-than sub par service but I have no expectations of any positive ackknowlegement. Anyone and everyone should do themselves a favor and avoid this dumpster fire like a plague. Better still, contact AMC management and tell them what to do with this disaster. read more

I went to watch Dan Da Dan with some friends in the lounge number 12. Worst movie experience of my life. Id rather watch this movie from a public bathroom in portland on my phone with some crackhead jerking off in the stall next to us than go here again. I had to cover my ears because they had their shitty speakers at full blast and every "high" note like a yell or scream or god forbid a "smack" during the fight scenes (which happened every other second) was the most piercing sound of my life. Id rather enlist in the military and have hearing loss from nukes and guns than go to this theater again for its audio quality. Me and my friends ears were ringing and definitely experienced hearing loss no doubt. It was so bad i actually couldn't read the subtitles AT ALL because any high pitch noise possible made it sound like a jackhammer was smacking fucking vibranium metal. This pain made it so i couldn't keep my eyes open because i involuntarily would shut my eyes at any little noise unless i shoved some fingers in my ears. It felt like a challenge just to eat popcorn. I had to make the mental and physical sacrifice of taking one finger out of my ear to grab a handful of popcorn real quick. Sometimes i just wouldnt think that sacrifice was even worth it just for some buttery goodness in my mouth. Im never going to this theater or place again for an anime movie premiere. I have always came here and it has always been amazing, I do think that for the stages of 21+ they should be more cleaned in the cup holders, wiping down seats & feet rests and trying to keep it smelling as fresh as possible. It was really muggy in the air, once the movie was over the trash smelt horrendous like someone had taken a literal sh*t in the trash... worst I've ever seen & smelt it to be definitely wasn't pleasing. Lastly the worker that works in the 21+ area is not welcoming at all, I don't know what it is but I have seen him the last 2 times I've been there and he's never changed his attitude seems like he doesn't want to be there either. Used Yelp for years, signed up because I am so disgusted. AMC took a gift and killed it with mediocrity. This particular Cinetopia was my favorite. I would love to come to the 21+ movie theater and have a date night. It felt high class - lovely bar, quality food, clean, and just nice. So I jumped when Fandango released the 2019 Star Wars movie. I was first and got my favorite seats in my favorite theater. Imagine my surprise when I get here and I'm met with disassociated, unhelpful staff. Ok, this is the second showing, maybe it's been a rough day. But the fun continues when we get to the bar. Fine, no waitress. Ok. No barware? I'm presented an Angry Orchards Cider in a plastic cup. So...AMC clearly doesn't care about the gift in a high quality place but also it doesn't care about the environment. That's cool. So we have to ask when we can enter our theater. We wait an extra 10, then head in. Guys. Do you think they bothered to wipe down the dividers. In theater 23 in the back, there are love seats and wide dividers where people can put their drinks. They didn't bother to wipe it down. I guess it was too much effort. Of course, there's no food anymore. No menu. No waitress. No videos playing in the walls. None of the things that made me fall in love with this place. Oh, the fart contest by the people next to us was classy. I'm looking at you, E3 and E4. AMC is garbage. This is my last movie here. The guy that created Cinetopia opened Studio One on Powell. I'll be voting with my feet, and going there from now on. read more

We haven't been here since it was Cinetopia. I used to enjoy going to a clean theatre where I could get a burger or spinach artichoke dip while having a beer. It was nice. The living room theaters were cosy and clean. ALL OF THAT IS GONE. The prices are higher. The food is all gone. The place is worn out and every surface, including the seats are DISGUSTING!!!! Our seats were literally covered in popcorn when we got to them. The upholstery is sticky, stained and smells like a locker room. The Magic is gone. If you are going to come here, bring a lot of money and a tarp to sit on. read more

So angry. Cinetopia was one of the best things in Vancouver. Comfy loungy seats and full food/drink service. Until AMC destroyed them and took over and now it's terrible. I only went to the now AMC because we had free tickets. No food service, just told us to get our drinks at the bar where there was one very stressed bartender trying to rush several drinks in time for the movie. If they're going to run out a beloved business and take out the experience of it at least update the seats! They're old and cracking and AMC has done nothing to update them. If you're going to steal it, AMC at least make it worth going to. The movie experience has to beat my living room. Which this does not. Regal has my business now. read more
