From the moment we pulled up, I knew a review was in order. Maybe you grew up along the train tracks of Southern New Jersey (or as the locals call "South Jersey") or perhaps maybe you're like me and you are in from out of town visiting someone. You certainly don't need to have grown up here to see that this AMC is exactly as it was when it was built in circa 1976. With a big parking lot that was common back then, too! It's straight out of the movie Fast Times at Ridgemont high. Including the aroma that smacks your nose as soon as you enter the theater. It's a mixture of mildew, mold and old. However, the nostalgia that comes along with it more than makes up for what it lacks in curb appeal. Yeah, a sense or ironic humor is what you need if you are going to enjoy yourself here. I mean, come on - it's next to Adelphia. A banquet hall from the 1980s where proms were held and is still rocking the faux Greek columns and statues outside. If that is not enough, the pink lights at night really bring home what Deptford, NJ retailers have to offer. The theater was remodeled a few years ago and all of the seats recline. The prices vary throughout the day but expect a move to set you back about $15 per person before any concessions. There is a concessions stand with the standard fare. This is not a dine-in location. So, go! Remember your parents prom in 1982 and enjoy a gripping or funny film. God bless, New Jersey and long live the Deb store!

This was my movie theater growing up. It was basically the only legitimate multiplex anywhere in the area when I was a kid, I was there ALL. THE. TIME. It is a monument to early 80s theater design. Completely soulless and personality-free design? Check. Sub IMAX sized, but still HUGE auditoriums? Check. A reasonable amount of restrooms to handle even a slow weeknight? Ha! We didn't go to the bathroom in the 80s, you spoiled millennials! An appropriately sized concession stand? Pffffft. We arrived 30 minutes prior to previews just to wait in line for popcorn and we LIKED it! Still, in spite of the physical limitations of the building, when I went here for the first time in twenty years to see 1917 this past weekend, I was pretty impressed with what they did with the old girl. The theaters now have AMC's ubiquitous full-sized recliner seats, so when you combine that with the already large auditoriums, you get a pretty impressive movie-watching experience. Combine that with their offered concession-delivery service which allows you to skip the line entirely really helps maximize this place's potential. While it's an obviously old shell stuffed with new filling, I wouldn't hesitate to come back again if I was in the area.

Went 6/25. There was someones butter/oil left in cup holder. It stuck to bottom of our cup. When lifted it up the oil spilled all over on our clothes. We didnt realize it at first because the theater is dark. But the problem was bringing it to an employees attention and she was sweet but when telling the manager he look like he couldnt care less. Didn't even acknowledge me, apologize nothing.

Empty concessions

Came for our movie and they were out of concessions. Out of nachos; out of slushies, out of juice, out of majority of candy. Received burned popcorn. Unacceptable.

I simply love this theater ever since AMC updated it w/ the 'pleather' red reclining seats! You can lounge them all the way back and up (for your feet) and even snuggle w/ your honey, as the arms between the seats go back. Pack a blankie for extra coziness! There's not a bad seat 'in the house'. Join 'Stubs' (think $20/yr) and earn rewards off tix, concessions and you even get online seating reservation fees waived ($2.50 value I believe). Before or after your movie, you can hit Filomena Lakeside, Tokoyo or so many others, including Bone Fish Grill or any little place you may fancy at the Deptford Mall. Can't wait to go back with my 'Marlboro Man!!!!!!!' ;)

The theater needs some updating even though it has reclining seats they still were nasty .they need to keep on the upkeep of their theater even the late show. It was trails of popcorn everywhere. N the bathroom was horrible even though we had a late night i still didnt want to use it. Im from philly but this is a good theater for me

Awful, go to anywhere else for the price. The seats are dirty and the movie is off center.

So the theater was clean, was not cramped, new reclining seats very nice except too comfy for some people.

"I think they're priced the same as when the film originally came out," the ticket-seller said. A nice tribute to Diane Keaton! It seems management took patrons' advice and remedied all the wrongs I saw posted. The concession stand was bustling and everyone appeared satisfied. The bathrooms were clean, as was the theater. I expected seats to be one level in Theater 19, which only accommodates 84 people. I was happy to see it was designed like larger theaters with stadium seating up the stairs. What struck me odd were the seats themselves. The original one I chose had some 'give,' forcing me to lean back when I like to sit straight up. I tried a few different seats which all had that feature to some degree. Finally settled in, a fellow sat next to me and I realized the seats were closer together than they should be, so I moved. All that seat-testing for nothing! Would I come to this theater again? Sure! The movie screen was big, I like the staff, there's plenty of parking and I ran errands afterwards at the mall across the street.

I generally go to Regal cinemas which has leather seats but figured I would try amc since they had 25% off ticket deals but now I realize why they were discounted. The popcorn that I ordered right before the movie prior to going to my seat was stale also. Just shut it down. Go elsewhere.

Was looking for the collectible Freddy popcorn bucket and was told that they sold out by Friday (there were only 3 showings, one Thursday night, one Friday night and an 11or so am showing today Saturday) no problem, it happens. We stopped by the little area were you get napkins and condiments and it was filthy! There was spilled popcorn, spilled soda(?), just nasty. Plus, they have their condiments (ketchup, mustard and relish) in the squeeze bottles that you'd have at home. That can't be sanitary or safe so we bypassed that! We get into the theater and the seats are old and need to be replaced. As soon as I sat down the cushion dropped straight to the frame like the padding was gone. It's just old and worn out. They let a lot of young people in who were under 18 by themselves and they talked loud throughout whole the movie!! They started talking before the movie started and never stopped, even though people were telling them to shut up. This theater is obviously a hangout spot for the local kids. The theater was FREEZING!! It was so cold I started shivering. I thought it was just me but my wife said she was cold as heck too. My feet got so cold it felt as if I was standing on a steel plate,my hands were so cold they started going numb so I had to blow on them. This is completely unacceptable. We'll never go back there again!!

Like, is this place haunted? You might ask yourself if you're making the right choice as you park your car in the empty lot and silently, eerily shuffle up to the door. Inside gets no better. Dark, one, MAYBE two employees. You can hear a pin drop. BUT, this is where the caveat comes in....this is WHY I give it 4 stars. There is NO ONE there. I can't count how many times I have seen a movie here and have been, LITERALLY, the only person in the theater. I just saw Elio here, on opening weekend, and the entire theater was me, the Little One, and like 4 of her stuffed animals. Exact same situation for Snow White. Lilo and Stich had MAYBE 3 other people. I HATE other people with a burning passion, so this theater is like a dream to me. I actually prefer it to the much nicer, newer, cleaner, more modern United Artists Regal almost literally across the street. You're getting pretty much the same experience with 1/20th of the crowd. Please, everyone, keep going to Regal UA. lol

I'm pretty sure the theater hasn't been updated at all...except for maybe the screen quality. Otherwise, it looked exactly the same as it did a decade ago when I was a regular. No recliner seats, no frills. I will say it wasn't frigid inside, which was a welcome surprise. They didn't enforce their outside drink/food policy. I'd say it's a good spot for a cheap night out. Nothing special.
