Movie experience is good overall, seats are okay not lazy boys by any means but much better than a park bench. Sounds is good. Image is as good as any other theater, no flaws I have seen. Would recommend but the expensive food really gets me because I enjoy popcorn and a drink as much as the next guy, but the price is a little steep.

Checking in was fast and easy with the ability to purchase tickets ahead of time and two lines separating those who still needed to purchase and those who bought them ahead of time. There was ample parking locations with great views of the large screen. Plenty of area for kids to safely play and kill time before the movie itself started. The concessions stand was a great building with some fun merchandise and good options for both standard popcorn and other hot food. We ended up getting soft serve icecream with funnel cake fries, both of which were great and reasonably priced. The movie itself was good. Screen was large, clear and easy to see. The speaker system made it so we didn't even need to tune our radio to listen in. Only complaint for this location is not having found it sooner to enjoy more of. Would highly recommend to those looking for a fun, throw back feel while enjoying a family friendly location.

The snack bar is well staffed by local teenagers and stocked with all the movie theater goodies. We often bring a takeout dinner and have a picnic while we wait in line to get in (get there early for a good spot!), then get dessert of popcorn and candy. The drive from Salina is about 40 minutes, and even though it's a two lane highway we always feel like we're just part of the late night parade of people coming home from the drive-in. We love that this is a part of our summer, and we're so grateful for some GenX nostalgia in the middle of Kansas!

A bit of Fox history, according to their web site: * The Fox marquee was the first flashing display of neon in Kansas and is one of only several surviving, functioning, original marquees in the country. * Two films held their premieres at the Fox with the cast appearing at the event: "Wait 'Til the Sun Shines Nellie (1952) and "Picnic" (1955). * The theatre closed in 1985 and stood empty until 1990 when Hutchinson's Historic Theatre, Inc., a non-profit corporation purchased it. After undergoing a $4.5 million restoration, the Fox re-opened in 1999.
