The timing of the meal's delivery was perfect, enough time to enjoy each dish without the next one arriving before you were ready for the next course. All good came beautifully arranged and prepared.

In-town shop for Rheingau winery. Wine tasting plus small plates…read more I suppose the wines are supposed to be the upper end of Rheingau selection. Includes wines from other wineries and regions. Glasses go from €3.50 up to over €10 a glass. We had a small plate of Jamon Iberico and some other nibbly stuff. Nice atmosphere. Got to try samples of a few different wines. NOt the cheapest place to get wine by the glass though.

The staff was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. We did the full multi course dinner and enjoyed several of the dishes. We were at the restaurant for 3.5 hours which was a little long for our taste after a long day of travel, but we felt well taken care of. The plating of the different courses was stunning. A lot of the flavors played really well together. We're big fans of steak and unfortunately we were disappointed with the wagyu filet at Carmelo Greco. The wagyu filet was from Japan and should've been the star of the show and stood on its own with little to no other ingredients. Instead, it was paired with a bitter balsamic and other ingredients that took away from the quality of the meat. The restaurant itself was cozy and inviting.

I was in Frankfurt for work and made it my goal to try a Michelin Star restaurant during my stay…read more Showed up at 21:30 on a Wednesday evening without a reservation. There was only one other gentleman in the restaurant so pretty much had the whole place to myself. Their tasting menu offers 7 items (including dessert) and you have the option to choose from 3-7 items. Overall, the meal was good and each dish was creative, making it exciting to eat. My favorites from the menu were the scallops and the trout. I didn't quite understand the parmigiano "flan" as they called it. The orange-espresso reduction sauce clashed with the spongey cheese flan... there were just too many strong flavors going on in the dish for me. I'm thankful that Carmelo Greco was able to accommodate my last minute arrival, I was there till almost 11pm despite them closing at 10pm. The only downside of my experience here was that there were a few little flies that kept bothering me throughout my entire meal. One eventually landed and died inside my wine... it was very distracting to have to constantly swat the flies (and looking like a crazy person). They kept landing on the bread and onto my wine glass.

One of the restaurants that appeared on multiple lists was Heimat. The chef/owner responded to my request for a reservation while he and his staff were on holiday. It was wonderful to meet him in person and express my appreciation. The restaurant features a contemporary design with indoor and outdoor seating. The open kitchen is directly behind the counter seating. We started with the Pumpkin Soup that our server suggested we split. It was amazing. My daughter ordered the Panzerotti pasta with blue cheese, plum and oyster mushroom. My choice was the Veal Fillet which was a substantial serving and incredibly tasteful and tender. The Pear Strudel was a perfect desert to end our meal. Excellent service, pricing and presentation. This restaurant deserves it own Michelin star.
