They were friendly and helpful. We used few Turkish words that we learned before going to Turkey, we used few German words that I have been learning for the last three years , and they had someone that spoke English , we ordered meat pie, cheese pie, menemon, and Knafeyto go for my uncle. They also had chicken and meat shawarma on the spit. Everything was delicious, and we highly recommend them; especially, if you're up late because of your jet lag from your long trip.

Lots of Turkish patrons when we arrived and left. This is a family-run business and they are doing their best to prepare everything fresh onsite. They are baking their own breads and pastries and making their own aryan. I ordered the Döner platter (with veal since chicken was already out at 8pm). The wait was a bit long (but I have do admit that the place was pretty busy while we were there) but the food made up for it. My platter had a good ratio of fries vs meat vs lettuce/veggies and I really enjoyed the yoghurt-garlic dipping sauce. Bonus points for the free flat bread for our table, the black tea for my cousin and I after we finished eating and the lollipops for the kids. I am looking forward to return.

I seated myself at a table, and someone brought me a menu promptly. It was quite hefty, showing that this place had more options than what you could see at the grab and go counter in the front. It is all in German, so English speakers be prepared, but other than that it was easy to navigate and had many options for all palates. I ordered the falafel teller (plate) and a water, and while I was waiting and small basket of pita bread (very thin) was brought to my table. When my meal arrived, the falafel was very hot, obviously fried fresh, and the sesame dip was splendid with it. My simple side salad was also very refreshing, as I was still hot from exploring the castle ruins that morning. I highly recommend this place to anyone in Heidelberg. Whether you want a quick snack or a sit down meal, this place will have you covered. It is also very reasonably priced compared to everything around as well!

I love visiting Heidelberg when I'm in Germany and walking through the streets imagining I am a college student at a gorgeous European campus of the oldest university in Germany. We saw this highly rated spot while walking along the cobblestone streets and decided to stop for food. We ordered the mixed plate which featured babaganoush, hummus, falafel (donut shaped), potatoes, eggplant, roasted cauliflower, salad, spinach pastry, and cheese pastry. When I tell you were could not stop raving about each and every aspect of this dish, I am not exaggerating. I legitimately think the people at the table next to us got annoyed at these overly animated Americans. I will dream about these donut-shaped falafels as there is nothing like them where I live (so so far away). We also opted for a glass of Lebanese dry white wine, which was super crisp and pleasant. Overall, a must-try when in Heidelberg. I wish I had been able to take some more to-go- especially since we saw that that they have convenient lunch-box style offerings for the college students.

They even offer a vegan option on there menu which I was very pleasantly surprised about . Thus I ordered number 100 on the menu which is vegan . The portions are very generous as well. I love spicy food and they have several dishes that are spicy but my vegan portion wasn't but they offered hot pepper powder which absolutely did the trick for me . The interior of the restaurant is very cozy and it sets you back in time and you feel like you are in Persia . Very tastefully and exclusive decorations. I can only highly recommend this restaurant I promise you will not be disappointed

I must say, this place is brilliant…read more Venos is located within walking distance from my flat and I go there every so often to simply just look around and see all the things I really can't afford. But nevertheless, they have it all. In Venos you can find loads of fresh fish... anything from swordfish to mackerel to clams to different varieties of squid. It truly is a magical place (okay, I'm just missing the delicious Virginia seafood at the moment.....) You can also find cuts of meat from all over the world here. They have meats from Namibia and Botswana, New Zealand lamb, Australian beef, American beef, etc etc. It is kind of exciting even though I don't really eat meat. You can find guinea fowl, veal, wild boar, deer, and much, much more. They also have a stellar cheese selection, showcasing some fine European cheeses and my beloved la mozzarella di bufala. I'm not a huge fan of European foods, even Mediterranean ones, and this place tends to specialize in Italian and Greek foods, but either way, still a fantastic place for food lovers like myself.

My homemade sushi rolls and sashimi could not taste any better. They also sell nori leaves and everything else you might need to make sushi so it's a one-stop-shop if you want. I have recently started to buy my white wine from them as well since they carry Yvon Mau Colombard Chardonnay which I find very tasty. Other than that they seem to have a large selection of all kinds of specialty food items (mainly from Italy and Greece) including a large selection of wines and spirits as well as quite the variety of fresh fish and seafood of course. Check them out if you are in the area - they have free parking in the back.
