Unfortunately, it's about the salon owner, whose behavior is consistently rude, unprofessional, and honestly embarrassing for someone running a business. From my very first appointment, she set the tone. I walked in with a Starbucks for myself and my stylist... completely unaware the salon had a café (which was closed, by the way). Instead of a normal greeting or a simple "Just so you know, we have coffee here," she loudly blurted out, "Who brings Starbucks here?" as if I had just broken a house rule. Not exactly the welcoming vibe you expect when you're coming in to spend money. Her attitude has been the same every visit since: dirty looks, zero acknowledgment unless you're her direct client, and an overall negative energy that shifts the whole room the second she walks in. And it's not just me. My best friend and my mom have both gone to the same stylist and experienced the exact same treatment from the owner. The same snarky comments, the same judgmental looks, the same cold, uninviting demeanor. So it's clearly a pattern, not a one-off. One moment that really stuck with me: it was just me, my stylist, and the owner in the salon. My stylist stepped into another room, so I raised my voice slightly to make sure she could hear me. The salon was empty. Yet I overheard the owner mutter, "Why is your client so loud? She's in a salon." Instead of speaking to anyone directly or respectfully, she chose to insult a paying client behind their back. Completely uncalled for and extremely unprofessional. Even if YOU the paying client says hi to her she looks you up and down and gives a cold hi back. At this point, the only reason I've ever tolerated stepping foot into this salon is because of my hairstylist. Who deserves better, and so do her clients. If you value professionalism, respect, and a welcoming environment, I'd strongly recommend booking with these amazing stylists anywhere else if they offer services at another location. The talent here is great. The owner is the problem.

To be frank, Amber is truly a godsend. I recently moved to San Diego in the fall of last year and have been searching for a barber to help maintain my look. Although I've tried different barbers around the area in my search, none seemed to leave me feeling satisfactory about my cut. With that being said, when my boyfriend discovered Amber via Yelp we were both aware that barbering was not her focus as a stylist. However, her glowing reviews and my boyfriend's encouragement gave me confidence that she would be a good fit for what I've been looking for. From start to finish she was professional and polite at our first appointment. The end result was nothing short of amazing. So impressed and ecstatic about how it turned out! For context, I hadn't even had this appointment booked for a full 24 hours, and I was making a genuine effort to communicate rather than leave someone waiting for me. I completely understand that cancellations and scheduling changes can be frustrating for a small business, but unexpected circumstances happen, and there is a professional way to communicate with customers. Being spoken to this way simply for trying to give advance notice and explore alternative availability was completely unnecessary. I've honestly never experienced anything quite like it. I'm actually glad I got to see how potential customers are treated before spending my money here. Needless to say, I won't be rescheduling or considering this salon in the future.
