I started communicating with this company almost 1 year before my wedding. At first they communicated efficiently and I was confident booking with them. As our wedding approached the communication became less and less via email. About 3 weeks out from our wedding I couldn't get a response to my final questions via email and ended up calling the owner and had a conversation with him myself. He was accommodating, took down all my info and also took my payment. I informed him of how many guests would need transport from Comox Airport to Campbell River and then back to the airport a couple of days later. He said it was all no problem and he specifically informed me of which vehicles he would send (and charged me accordingly) and I tipped $50 in advance as I didn't want to worry about cash and tips etc on our wedding weekend. They got everyone from the airport to the venue in Campbell River. After that it was a mess. They apparently called my cell phone and the wedding resort mutiple times on my wedding day (??) to try and reach me to find out if I did in fact still need their larger bus. Being that most brides don't have their cell phone tucked into their dress I missed the calls. They called the resort on the morning of my wedding and early the morning after my wedding. Respectfully, the venue did not interupt our big day to inform that the shuttle company was calling. So on the Sunday (last day of our wedding weekend) they sent a smaller vehicle to get our guests from Campbell River to Comox. Of course everyone and their luggage couldn't fit in the vehicle and was anxious to get to the airport as to not miss their flights. So instead of spending my last moments with friends and family saying goodbyes and thank you's...I had to call a van taxi and pay $150 on my credit card to ensure no one missed flights. The driver for Ambassador assured me I'd be reimbursed by the owner (we had already paid $300 + $50 tip for our round trip service). A couple of days after the wedding I emailed the owner again (Kevin) to inform him of the error and ask for reimbursement. My email was kind and forgiving since I did not anticipate any sort of dispute. Initally he blamed me and said that "nothing was in writing" so he couldn't confirm our reservation. I kindly informed him that nothing was in writing because THEY wouldn't respond so I PHONED him to ensure we still had service. He then said that I should have emailed the confirmation to him after our call (even though he never asked me to do this). I informed him that normally that would be the role of the company to provide confirmation emails. He denied ever agreeing to send that sized vehicle on the Sunday to us but the fact that they called our venue multiple times on our wedding day is evidence enough that they knew they had double booked it and were trying to get out of it. Eventually (although he never admitted fault-even blamed others in his company when it was HIM that I spoke to) he apologized in writing and agreed to reimburse me. I emailed him with each week that passed and for the first couple of weeks he told me to keep 'watching for his e-transfer'. Well of course it never came and he stopped responding to us at all. He vanished. The $150 isn't going to break us whatsoever (we are a professional working couple) but it was very disappointing to be treated with such utter disrespect. I planned a 3 day wedding weekend and everything went off without any issues EXCEPT for our experience with Ambassador Shuttle. The thing that bothers us the most is the complete lack of integrity and respect for his customers. I will be contacting the BBB to report this and if it continues to bother me over the next while I will be filing a small claims court file and consulting with our lawyer to ensure that this company learns their lesson about taking advantage of honest people. Its frustrating to see that all the reviews here are positive ones. If you still aren't sure about this company after reading my review (and you are a couple planning a shuttle service for your wedding/event) I'd encourage you to join the Courtenay/Comox Wedding Group on facebook. Search "ambassador shuttle" on that wedding group and see what kind of reviews you find. I was surprised to see how many other people reported very poor communications and screw ups on their wedding day. "Late for picking up wedding parties, screwed up someone else's wedding day, very poor communication" the list goes on. **I have no problem publicly posting our email correspondence. As mentioned, the $150 isn't the problem-the lack of integrity is. read more
