I'm in a different chapter in my life and the weight has slowly crept back on. So after looking into other programs I decided to take advantage of Medshape again. A really good decision. So far I am halfway towards my total weight loss goal. I have been able to maintain and keep the weight off. They are very encouraging but they also hold you accountable. They are there to get you through your setbacks and help celebrate your successes. I think the biggest compliment I can give them is that when I went to my GP for my annual check up they were very happy with my weight loss success so far. I told them how I food journal now, I keep track of my water intake and exercise, as well as practice portion control. They smiled and said you are doing all the right things! ORIGINAL: The RM3 program is a 5 start. The reason I am giving a 1 star though is because I paid $548 for the program this month and the appetite suppressant was $64 of the cost. This was on 3/23/2022. On 3/25 I received the medication in the mail. The cap was not on and the bottle was not closed all the way. The medication was mostly gone at that point. I called right away. The Red Mountain Arrowhead location Manager, Tracy, called me back in the morning of 3/26 and said that she will order a new bottle. It would arrive on 3/29 or 3/30. She would call me and I would have to bring the bad bottle in to exchange. I understood that accidents happen. I never received a call back. I went in on 4/2 for my weekly shot. I spoke with the assistant manager, Tabytha Newton, and she said that the pharmacy is running behind with orders. She gave me her business card and said that she would call me on 4/4 and was so sorry for the lack of communication. She assured me again that she would call me on 4/4, but if for some reason she was not able to, to please call her direct line on her business card. Today is 4/5 and I tried to call her direct line on the business card and to my surprise, that number has been disconnected. I than called the only number I could find for REd Mountain Arrowhead and it was to a call center. Amanda let me know that she would get a not over to the Arrowhead location. Amanda than called me back a few minutes later and let me know the medication should be arriving today. I asked her when it was ordered and she said Saturday. I asked it it was this past Saturday or the week prior and she said this past Saturday. That means the Manager lied to me the week prior. I was extremely upset and demanded a manager call me because this is unacceptable. The assistant manager, Tabytha, just called me back and said that she thought she told me that she would call me back when it came in. She ordered it yesterday and put a rush on it to be here today. She will let me know when it arrives so I can do the exchange. For the inconvenience she is going to put a $25 credit on my account. That is so kind. That should pay for my round trip gas to have to drive there an extra day and take over an hour out of my day because of their error.

I was out of breath going up stairs and experienced health concerns and anxiety on a constant basis. I felt a bit hopeless and that my life was essentially going to end early. (Sorry for the negativity but it was a tough time for me!) On my primary Drs advice I went through the Mayo Clinic bariatric Education program. This for me was one of the best things I ever did. The Mayo Bariatric program takes a hard look at your overall health and then provides you with a series of very informative programs about nutrition and diet. They teach you to log your intake and meals, make healthy choices and prepare you for the dietary life you will have post-surgery. They allow a surgeon to come in and describe the procedure and what the potential goals of weight loss are. 25-27% weight loss is the usual goal. For me it was so helpful to understand what Bariatric surgery does to your body and its overall purpose. For some folks it's a godsend, ultimately for me I took another path. What the Bariatric program showed me is that this surgery is basically designed to create a physical impediment to you eating more than you should. They want you to eat in tiny increments on a regular basis through the surgical change in your stomach size so that you will lose weight. I became familiar with terms like dumping and other potential issues that frankly scared me. Ultimately, I concluded that I could make up my mind and my will to "eat" and live "as-if" I had gone through the actual surgery, and if I could do that, this would accomplish the same basic goal. (In practice harder than it sounds but I was committed, and the basic reasoning seemed sound to me!) Fortunately for me I then called the Scottsdale weight loss center looking for an alternative and spoke with someone who had been through the program and helped me understand their program and their process. I was able to meet with Diana and her team, get my initial evaluations and sit down and discuss my goals with Diana. Diana put me at ease and said look we can help you succeed, and we will move at your pace. I expressed my level of commitment and Diana put together a program that I lived by. Diana and her team basically design an eating program with the use of meal replacements that you use to live within your calorie and weight loss goals. With a little creativity you can make these meals really good, and the program is absolutely sustainable and enjoyable. My first week I lost 13 lbs. It was an amazing initial result and set the tone for me to be committed and succeed. I think most importantly, Diana gives you structure, a place to go to commiserate, share your challenges and successes, helps you know where you stand every week, measure your progress but in a non-judgmental, encouraging environment. This is where Diana and her team shine, they are good people, who act with the absolute intention of helping you reach your goals. I cannot say enough good things about them. These people helped save my life and my quality of life is so much better now. I will say, that going into this with a very determined mind is a key. Being personally committed to succeeding and transforming yourself goes a long way when those little hunger pangs hit from time to time or you have a choice to make about what meal to have. Additionally, having a supportive partner (in my case my lovely wife) who supports you fully and is as committed as you are.
