I've meant to post a review for quite some time and regret I'm just getting around to it. Teresa…read moretutored my daughter for years (mid sophomore to Senior year. ) Words alone can't express our gratitude our family has for Teresa. My daughter truly respected and cherished her. She said Teresa made her feel confident and treated her with such respect and was so patient with her. She said there is no doubt that she learned more from her than her actual teachers. My daughter is now in college and thriving! She brought her SAT scores up and she has more confidence now than she ever has because of Teresa. I highly recommend her. Yes I've paid for cheaper tutors they where a waste of time. You get what you pay for with Teresa , a real credentialed experienced teacher. Thank you Teresa. Sincerely, Rick, Evette & Diana Feigel

My son is rather selective regarding tutors and really appreciated her teaching style. She gave my son confidence that he could get through the math material. If you need to reschedule, just let her know in advance and she is very accommodating. She is worth every penny. She got my son through his math requirements at the JC and I am so appreciative. I recommend her highly. Give her a try. Don't hesitate. You won't regret it!!

Doug Couchman - Expert tutoring since 2001: LSAT, MCAT, GMAT, and GRE

[TL;DR Doug is an incredible tutor. He is engaged, knows the LSAT inside and out, helped me bring…read moremy score above 175, and is 100% worth the price.] I struggle with making decisions very badly, especially when they feel like particularly important decisions. I place importance upon two axes: how much the choice will cost me and how long the choice at hand may last into the future. For example, an inexpensive wine at Trader Joe's is nowhere near as difficult a choice as a $500-$1,000 mattress I will sleep on every night for the next 5-7 years. Naturally, based on these two criteria, picking an LSAT study strategy felt extremely important; not only was the price tag fairly high, but this choice could shape my career trajectory for the rest of my life. I considered a handful of different tutoring options...courses by popular providers like Blueprint, 7Sage, and Kaplan as well as tutoring by some smaller services. In these considerations, I also consulted a lot of different forums; reddit, yelp, and some independent tutor rating services. Ultimately, Doug seemed more qualified than the other sources I had consulted. I worked with Doug from early September up to a November LSAT administration, he was consistent, on time, engaged, communicative, and knew the LSAT questions inside and out. We were able to talk not only about what the right answer was, but also why other answer choices were wrong. He provided strategies and approaches for the exam, and correct approaches of mine that were not serving me. November was the first time I ever sat for the LSAT, and I ended with a score I was thrilled with. I know LSAT tutors can be expensive and this price tag can be intimidating, but I seriously cannot recommend the extra money enough--if you can afford it, which I recognize is a privilege. If starting off with individual sessions seems too expensive, I would also recommend trying a hybrid strategy by first exhausting free resources (shoutout to khan academy, which I used for ~6-8 months before working with Doug) and then working with a private tutor--Doug--who will actually help you achieve what you want through targeted, one-on-one help once your practice score plateaus and/or once your test date approaches. And remember, the law school you go to can/will have an impact on your career outcomes, and the money you spend on the LSAT could pay itself back within your first few months--or even weeks--of your career. Good luck out there to all of you LSAT prepping law school hopefuls reading this, and again, I cannot recommend Doug enough for those of you who really want to see the best results possible on your LSAT. Bonus: All of our tutoring sessions were completely virtual, which is great not only for the pandemic, but also for those who are located outside of Doug's Bay Area/Arizona locales but still looking for a highly-qualified tutor. Tutoring/learning over Zoom can be less than ideal for some, but Doug has enough virtual capabilities configured that learning over Zoom was no problem. He was able to share a virtual "paper" and draw out solutions and other visualizations that may be necessary to the learning process. The virtual aspect is all pro, no con.

I increased my score 17 points, so that says something about their methodology. They really breakdown the LSAT so you understand the basics and what to expect on the actual test. By the time you are taking the LSAT, there are no surprises and it feels like just another practice test. I would recommend TestMasters to anyone wanting to take the LSAT. TestMasters helped me be able to go to a great law school and hopefully have a great career in law. Thank you so much to Dorothy and the creator, Robin.

I'm really torn between giving TestMasters a 2 star versus 3 star rating…read more My experience with the preparatory class was OK, at best. I believe the course requires an above average understanding of the material PRIOR to the students even walking into the class, and in my opinion, that does not help students understand the foundational concepts and structure of each question type. Hearing Type 1 or Type 10 question in class at a very early point in the class only added unnecessary stress/pressure as I had to go through my notes to try to figure out the question types. Additionally, my instructor was OK. I will say that she had a great understanding of the material but helping the class understand it, from THEIR perspective, was not her strong suit. Moreover, there were at least 2 occasions which she promised to call me to discuss some concerns I had and never did. For the hefty price I paid for the class, I did not feel that it helped my score. Contrary to my experience with TestMasters, I would recommend to others to first try the PowerScore Bibles (Logical Reasoning, Logic Game and Reading Comp). These have been my savior. I have been going through them post-TestMasters and many of the concepts now click!

Pay very close attention to your invoice numbers and dates!! I received multiple invoice numbers for the same dates of service (and ones I did not approve) and different amounts. This happened over and over for severe months... To date, Christie has not and will not take care of this! I always trusted Christie since I enrolled my daughter with her and when I honestly brought up this concern as well as our last session because school was ending, she backlashed (didn't show up for set and paid appointmen/s) and has made no effort to correct the issue.
