EFS has been an amazing resource for our family since 2020. Our son (15) began working with Sean (who is amazing) and is now working with Ella. Our son has improved his grades, he has become confident in reaching out to his teachers and advocating for himself and is more confident participating in class. Ella has provided us with other resources, goes above and beyond with helping him and joins our meetings with his school if needed. EFS/Ella is helping our son tremendously and we have enjoyed working with her and Sean! read more

My son was at a crossroads. After his first year in college, feeling isolated from Covid and seeing mental health decline, I realize as a mother, I could not help him. He wanted to show me he was strong, independent and will succeed. As a mother, I was seeing a brave kid crumbling inside. I knew I needed help. I wanted a "life coach" to kind of take me out of the equation. After interviewing several therapists, I came across EXECUTIVE FUNCTION SPECIALISTS. Here was not just one person but a team! After the initial interview, they began right away working with my son. And, they continue to work on his behalf as well. They have tutors, coaching, life skills . . . I can't say enough! read more

My 12 year old has been seeing her specialist, Ella, for 5 months now. Ella has been teaching her how to "do" school and it has made a huge difference! Not only have my daughters grades improved significantly but now she has the confidence to do most of her homework on her own which has improved our mother/daughter relationship 10 fold! The organizational, time management, study and self advocation skills my daughter is learning from Ella are priceless. Ella is patient and kind but also challenges my daughters abilities. Also, Sean and his staff have always been available to answer questions and give support. I highly recommend EF Specialists for anybody of any age. -Jeanette read more

EFS is a godsend for our family. Ella is fabulous - she is kind, patient, organized, knowledgeable, and thorough. She is helping our daughter learn tools to get organized for school and to manage her assignments. Ella checks in with our daughter every day to make sure she's doing the work she needs to do that night, and she tracks any missing assignments to make sure they get submitted. It's a huge relief to have that work being done by someone outside our family - it's so much better for our family dynamics. read more

We are so happy that we found EF Specialists. They have been absolutely wonderful on all fronts. Kinyatta was assigned to our sophomore and has really helped our son with organization, focus and communication. She does an amazing job keeping all of us in the know of what tasks need to be accomplished and when and is always on top of it. Her communication has been essential and her kind and caring demeanor is exactly what we were looking for. 5 stars all around. read more

Kinyatta is the most amazing person, tutor, and executive functioning coach. She has been a game changer. She made an instant connection with our 8th grade son and has helped him gain the skills and confidence that he needs to be successful in high school. She has been working with him for the last 9 months. Our son has ADHD (combined), anxiety and executive functioning issues. She meets with him twice a week over zoom and helps him get organized. She also provides tutoring and support on his assignments. She has helped him reach his full potential, going from a combination of A's, B's and C's to straight A's. The report card speaks for itself, but more importantly she has helped him with his self-esteem and confidence, all of which translates to a more content child and a more peaceful home. read more

My daughter was struggling to make simple choices - seems like she had a loss of confidence and the pandemic isolation really hurt her ability to make plans for herself. Working with EF specialists has been a smooth and easy process to help our child feel in control again and get a handle on her ADHD. The life skills they teach are meant to empower kids to tackle big life stuff themselves - and we are seeing this happen within a year of a weekly coach. Now, she is making good plans and choices on her own. Her independence and confidence have really blossomed - this was the life coach she needed to heal herself! Highly recommend - read more

My 15-year-old daughter has struggled with severe anxiety and executive functioning challenges for many years, to the point where she had to stop going to in-person school. She has a complex profile and will often shut down in the face of tasks or situations that overwhelm her. Ella has been a godsend in helping her to approach and manage her online school program. Ella, who is also an educational therapist, was able to build rapport and trust with my daughter right away, gently but firmly guiding her to create bite-sized goals. She provides exactly the right kind of support and accountability that my daughter needs. Thank you Ella and Executive Function Specialists! read more

Sean worked carefully and thoughtfully with me to plan, prepare and practice a presentation I was to give to a group of neuropsychologists who serve students with attentional challenges. His expertise on the topic of executive function, combined with his knowledge around presentation and storytelling, made him an excellent thought partner as I developed an important presentation. If you need guidance on a public speaking engagement, I highly recommend Sean! read more

If homework has become a battle at home I highly recommend EF Specialists. This has been a game changer for my 7th-grade daughter and for our relationship. My daughter is working with Gal, who has been so kind and helpful. My daughter enjoys working with her each week and now has more autonomy with her homework. I can see her confidence growing and it has only been 2 months since we started. I noticed positive changes right away. The executive functioning skills she is learning from Gal are not just helpful for middle school and high school but are life-long skills she will need. read more

Executive functioning specialists have been a lifesaver for our family and our son. It took a couple tries to find the right fit of Coach but once we were paired with Kinyatta, we could not have been happier. Having a partner in creating independent self-sufficient and capable children is an unmeasurable gift for both our family and the world. Kinyatta and EFS have given our family so much more space to enjoy each other and feel supported. I cannot recommend them and her enough. read more

Kinyatta at EF Specialist was a the third party or maybe a "third eye" for us with our sophomore son. Her involvement in his school work and helping to voice that it's important to turn in homework has been beyond beneficial to him (and us). The fall grade were Ds and Cs and now he's aiming for an A in Chemistry and Bs in his other class. For us that is a measurable and noticeable difference. It's the outcome we hoped for. And for our son it's the confidence he needs to know he can get the work done. ADHD comes with challenges and Kinyatta addressed those to make the work flow more accessible. We are so thankful for Kinyatta, her positive attitude brings results. read more

Executive Function Specialists came highly recommended to me from the person who had done the psych evaluation for both my daughters, age 15 and 18. From the moment I spoke with Sean, I knew I was in good hands. Sean is incredibly caring and present, a really good listener, and very knowledgeable. Both my daughters got assigned a tutor to help with their executive functioning challenges. Each tutor was matched perfectly and my daughters really enjoyed working with them. My youngest daughter had almost daily meetings and check-ins and her tutor went to great lengths to find ways to help with homework, often texting late in the evening or on the weekend to follow up and make sure my kid had turned in her assignments on time. She had a way to be firm yet kind and my kid, who generally resents getting help or being told what to do, completely accepted her suggestions and support. It is safe to say that my daughter would never have finished her freshman year if it wasn't for EF. My oldest daughter developed a beautiful relationship with her tutor who helped her not only with course content but with everything from researching gap year programs, enrolling in community college, to making a life budget and staying on top of various assignments and appointments. EF also helped us navigate the IEP process and gave great recommendations. I am incredibly grateful for the support and the quality work the whole EF team has done with our family over this last year. THANK YOU. read more

Sean McCormick and his organization, Executive Function Specialists, serve as a lifeline to many of our K-12 student clients who range in age and disability. As a special education law attorney and partner at the Leigh Law Group, it's my job to connect with people like Sean and the educators on his team who really care about outcomes for the students with disabilities that my law firm serves. Our entire office relies on Sean routinely for academic assessment, gathering IEP goal baselines, teaching kids vocational, organizational, executive functioning and other academic skills that are often overlooked and underserved by schools (knowingly and unknowingly). Truly, Sean and his team have pulled off what I think can seem impossible for so many families who have children who are not accessing their education and therefore not making appropriate academic progress. Sean is an expert who is a solid team player and at IEP team meetings- he comes with data driven evidence to support and drive the student's needs. As an expert and credentialed specialist, he is easy to work with through the IEP team process and is always expressing his willingness to take on challenging school IEP teams but is also the first person to offer up collaborative IEP team strategies that always focus on the student and bridge the gap between educators and families. He is also fair, unbiased and never oversteps what he and his team can and cannot do. He knows the system because of his unique experience as an educator and I cannot say enough about how he has helped my student clients and their families approach learning in a refreshing and positive way. read more
