This is our third daycare (our son is four and we've moved a couple times) and we are so happy with the staff and facilities at this location. Classrooms are well-maintained, our child adores his teachers and every interaction we have with a staff member is genuine and thoughtful. They are communicative about the curriculum and special events, and in the time we've been there we have seen numerous improvements to the facility and academic offerings. We chose this particular KinderCare because of the hours and location but even when one of our jobs moved and it became slightly less convenient we opted to stay here and are so glad we did. read more

We had a mixed experience at KinderCare. Some of the staff were truly kind, nurturing, and clearly cared about the kids--something we really appreciated. However, there were also some deeply concerning practices that we couldn't overlook. One teacher told my 3-year-old that if he didn't stop crying for me, she would call me and tell me to pick him up late. I observed a teacher stepping on a child's foot to prevent a child from taking off of their shoes and screaming at them not to take her shoes off.. There were also questionable reward systems in place, like giving candy after finishing laps, which doesn't align with healthy habits for young kids. But most alarming was the use of blankets--multiple times, we observed blankets placed over children's heads, including in the infant room. Our 10-month-old had a blanket covering her entire body and face, which is extremely unsafe and against all infant sleep safety guidelines. While we saw some bright spots in the staff, ultimately, we didn't feel confident that our children were being cared for in a consistently safe and supportive environment. read more

We love all of the staff at KinderCare! Our son has been at KinderCare since he was 5 months old (he's just over a year now). They treat our son really well and he just loves all of his teachers (so do we). The price point is fair for daycares in the area. It's not a small thing to trust others with your child, especially when they are so little. The teachers and administrators at KinderCare Petaluma made us feel comfortable and answered all our questions. The teachers really work with us with our son's needs. We couldn't recommend them more if you're looking for a group daycare situation. You can tell they really care about the kids. read more

the teachers here do not have units and yet are still left with children. they are always on their phone and not watching the child. classrooms are a mess and it's rare that any of the classrooms do circle time. there have been times where teachers have been yelling at the students which is just unacceptable behavior. I have heard that the turnover rate is extremely high and not just for teachers but also for the directors. They are constantly understaffed. I feel they may not be doing things the way that they are supposed to. There seems to be favoritism from the Director which to me is very harmful for the work environment I would not recommend sending your child here. They say they have service but to me it doesn't seem that they have any or care that they have them they just do what they want. They are also constantly moving teachers out of one class and putting them into another one which is just hard on the children because there is no consistency which is key within these. To me it is just a bit of a disappointment to see a school and feel that they don't actually care about the well-being of the children that they are supposed to be providing for. These are some of the most important ages in a child and yet they are not getting what they need I believe something needs to change here for these kids it is not fair. read more

I can not emphasize enough, DO NOT BRING YOUR KIDS HERE! Kindercare is unprofessional, has no morals and overall has no clue how to run a preschool. From the infant room to the pre-k room your kid will have little to no education and every class but infants will spend 80% of their time outside with the most bare minimum supervision because the teachers are to caught up talking to each other most the time not even at least standing by the play structure. Preschool and up is required to run laps in the beginning of their outside time, and yes there will be a teacher yelling at them to run if they start to walk. Again yelling at some 2 and 3 year olds to run! No kid is an exception to being held down at nap, if they don't lay willing and let a teacher pat them to sleep teachers will you minimum to excessive force to make them lay and go to sleep. Out of simple convenience for the teachers to have everyone asleep because personally as a parent I rather my kid not nap and be grumpy then have a teacher at one point yes lay her body on a toddler to get him to lay down which mind you didn't work just made them terrified of teacher. The preschool room pretty much has kids crying themselves to sleep because they are to scared of the teacher to get up (which for a 2/3 year old is a natural instinct to do when you aren't ready to sleep, hell I do it as an adult). I have personally seen everything you could do wrong, done here. Putting shows on tablets for one years old to blindly watch, objects thrown at kids, kids aggressively picked up and put down, kids left in the sun for enough hours until they are red and have a diaper overflowing in poop, kids being threatened they won't get food or get to do activities because they won't stop crying. And kids POSTED ON SOCIAL MEDIA!! I could go on and on but I feel the point is clear. Mind you the bosses are aware of everything, they are the ones that support getting the kids to sleep no matter what. Let alone the way they run the school makes the teachers hit beyond breaking points having no help and actively scream at their teachers in front of kids, parents and other teachers. Actively break licensing requirements of being out of ratio and not having qualified teachers among so many other, and licensing has been informed and will not take the matter seriously or investigate further. This is a common theme around all the local kindercares but they will remain open unless you stop bringing your kids. read more

My daughter and I LOVE KinderCare, Petaluma. Miss Kristen, the director, is super communicative and personable. She genuinely cares for each and every child. My daughter (23 MOS) has made friends that she asks for at home, gets excited when we pull into the parking lot at KinderCare, and loves the activities. She comes home making animals sounds, singing, and is always excited to show me the activity she worked on. As a parent, I care about the curriculum, her safety, and social interactions. My child was there for two years. This place has gone downhill the last few months. The turnover in teachers is incredible. Most of the teachers are good but they don't seem to last. I enrolled my son in KinderCare Petaluma when he was about 6 months old and have been consistently impressed with the facility and staff since day 1. The director and assistant director are hands-on and attentive, kind, and communicative. The teachers are incredibly warm, thoughtful, and engaging. My son is so happy at Kinder, and his development skyrocketed after being there only a few months. Of course Covid poses unique problems for the entire daycare system, but the staff at KinderCare have handled it beautifully. So happy we found this place! read more

I wanted to use this place for my child care but after almost 10 calls and rescheduled appointments and lost emails on their part I lost hope. I finally got an appointment which both me and my husband took work off for and also got child care and they cancelled an hour before the appointment time. The reason was "a corporate meeting" shows the values of this place. If you're considering this place run for the hills! My daughter has been going to the Petaluma facility for a little over a year now. I really love this place and the people that work there, they are really helpful. The teachers are the best, they keep the rooms really clean, make healthy snacks for the kids, communicate very well, great activities. If i ask for a favor or ask them to work on some gross motor skills with my child they instantly jumped on it and made it so the whole class can participate. This facility is one of the best that i have seen, it is gated and has tons of windows in each classroom. I really love how you have to ring the door bell to be able to get in, so no strangers can just walk in. The play yards are the best and very organized. Over all this is a great place. This is the Petaluma facility, not the Rohnert Park facility. read more

We absolutely LOVE Kindercare. Our daughter started here when she was about 9 months, in the infant room. All the staff is awesome but the infant room staff is amazing. They made both myself and my daughter feel comfortable from day one. They were so reassuring during the first few weeks of transition for her, going from being home with mom to being with strangers. But now she loves to get there in the morning and is happy to play with her teachers and friends. We use cloth diapers and I was nursing when we started and they were nothing but accommodating - I was able to nurse when I dropped off and come once a day at lunch and nurse with no problems! They were also willing to give cloth diapers a shot, which was a rare find with other daycare's I spoke with! I never hesitate to recommend Kindercare when someone asks about daycare. read more

I would like to say how amazingly caring and welcoming the staff teachers and director are at this school. Since the first time I reached out to the director to enroll my son, she was so helpful and so on top of everything got my son enrolled immediately. my son comes home everyday so happy and excited about his day. He learns so much he is talking more and more and brings home art that I love to hang up. I have to say my favorite thing is being able to see pictures of him everyday and the activities he does everyday. I get to be apart of him even when I am not with him. After Zoom kindergarten at my daughter's public school in Novato proved to be a complete cluster F, I pulled her out after a few weeks and enrolled her at Kindercare Petaluma. It has long hours and affordable tuition. $340/wk for five 10hr days is less than half what I'd pay in Marin. Even though it was a 30min drive, it was worth it. My daughter had so much fun, learned to read, write, and behave in a classroom setting. It was a class size kept to only 12 kids due to COVID, so I'm not sure how a larger class size would have affected her learning, but the director Kristen is very attentive and responsive, so I have no doubt she would have addressed any issues. Her teacher Ms. Shelby always made time to answer my questions and my daughter loved the other staff there as well. I even recruited my friend from Marin to enroll her son there too. We both agree it saved our sanity to escape Zoom and to go to work trusting our kids were in good hands. My daughter aged out of Kindercare and just started public 1st grade. The teacher there said she is one of only 4 kids in her class of 23 who is at or above grade level academically. They're even talking about moving her to 2nd grade! That's all the proof I need that Kindercare was the right choice for us. The name sounds like a daycare and the marketing is super corporate, but this really felt like a small private school without the arrogance and price tag. read more

Our infant started at Kindercare when he was 3 months old. I was pregnant during the pandemic, so almost all of my communication with them was electronic as I was exploring potential child care options, which was pretty unusual. KinderCare made me feel as comfortable as possible with this, and allowed me to meet the teachers who would care for my baby (outside and with masks on) which greatly helped to put me at ease. The infant teachers are so caring, and the Director has been fantastic at responding to any questions or concerns we have had. They have an app which is pretty cool to know what is happening throughout the day, although I would love to see photos a bit more regularly, but I imagine it's probably hard for them to find the time throughout the day. They've clearly taken COVID precautions very seriously and other than an expected little cold, our baby has stayed very healthy. Our only complaints are those which I think we'd have at any larger childcare center, which is a) the high cost and b) with so many other kids in the room, his schedule can be pretty inconsistent compared to when he's at home and we're able to control the environment more. But overall we've had a very positive experience with KinderCare and would definitely recommend them! read more

We have been soooo happy with our experience at Kindercare in Petaluma. The entire staff is friendly and welcomes our child. He has learned so many social skills in the toddler room that we wish we could keep him here forever! The program is very structured and there is a huge yard in which the kids get to play daily. My wife and I took about 1 months to find a daycare that we both agreed upon, unfortunately KinderCare pulled the wool over our eyes. They act professional and courteous when you first sign up but as soon as you're enrolled you come to realize that they are very unprofessional they have a staff with no teaching credentials some of them have no background that is suitable for daycare centers. Are two boys have been sick more than ever before. They have been out of daycare more than they've been in due to illnesses did they have gotten from KinderCare. They tell you they clean once a week which is not enough it should be everyday then they will not show you any record of this being done they just want you to take their word for it there is dirt everywhere, surrounding the play area outside, has holes that you can stick your hands through I've gone to pick up my boys and have seen little arms tokens through the fence waving at me. My oldest son has bruises and bite-marks nearly every day the most severe one was on his cheek the bruise which is still there almost a month later and we were told it was a pinched from another child it is no pinch. For $800 a week this is unacceptable furthermore my wife and I were unable to pick up the boys so my father-in-law pick them up they ask for no license no ID he didn't have to put in the code because they open the door for him that is unacceptable no security whatsoever. Thankfully there is another day care center that is opening up two blocks away. I strongly urge anyone who is thinking about taking their kids there please reconsider for the safety of your children. read more

We've been so fortunate to have our son attend KinderCare. Everyone on staff is so friendly and caring and care so much about developing the babies and kids. They get them outside as much as they can and have a great balance of art, music, science, and language. My son is in Preschool there and is even showing signs of reading! Everyday he surprises me with what he's learned. They've added some STEM activities which is also great since the elementary schools integrate STEM into their lessons so he is really getting prepared for TK. Love this center! read more

Biggest problem I have with this place is they are WAY too happy to send a kid home sick, and make the parents keep them home 5+ days, but they are more than happy to take your money. I've had all three of my children at this facility for years and I have nothing but good things to say about the building, the curriculum and the staff. My kids are safe, challenged to learn, loved by the teachers and just plain have fun. It's a secure environment, I can pay my bills online and there's no other place I would consider having help raise my babies. read more

This is only our second week with Kindercare... But so far so good. The teachers and staff are a very nice. My daughter is 2.5 and she was not happy about switching to a new daycare but she's already adjusting quickly. The assistant director/directed has been so kind and helpful. She answers all my questions and has made this transition wonderful for me as well. I was scared to switch my daughter's daycare too but things look so well run there that I am actually quite excited for all the new things she will get to experience and learn. It's hard having both parents work, and you worry about your child while you are away all day, but knowing she is learning new things and having fun with a great group of people makes it all better. read more

We've had our kiddo at Kindercare in Petaluma since December of 2017 and absolutely love it! The staff take the time to get to know each child, whether or not that child is in their class. They are warm, engaging and challenge my active and curious toddler on a daily basis. The hours of the center are wonderful as my husband and I both start work early and was originally the main reason why we checked out Kindercare. We quickly learned that there were so many other reasons to love this Kindercare, other than the hours. (And they make coffee for the parents in the morning! Score!!!) I can't say enough great things about Petaluma KinderCare. The staff and teachers and leadership have all been so incredibly kind, warm, empathic, helpful, patient, and understanding. Every time I have emailed with a question, they respond immediately and with such generosity and support. And they consistently circle back in-person to make sure my questions were addressed. My five-year-old is so happy here--he's getting a great education and--most importantly--he's LOVING the experience of learning. Each time I pick him up, he is eager to share with me various things he's learned, songs he's sung, books that have been read to him, etc. (I'm actually learning a lot from him now! He's full of enthusiasm as he shares about historical figures, words, cultures, etc.) And he's getting a lot of great socialization. They take great care to make sure kids and families are feeling comfortable, safe, and taken care of. I also feel that my son is treated with great respect--that his individuality is honored and nurtured. And I'm so grateful for the photos and videos and daily reports and updates they send each day. My girlfriend and I recently put our 4 month old son in this day care and WOW. This place blew my mind away. Everyone there is so friendly and caring and made me feel extremely comfortable about leaving my son here. When me and my girlfriend did a walk through they explained every possible question we had and we didn't even have to ask. They are caring, considerate, nice, and always strive to answer any and all questions. On his first day they gave us a really cool little certificate about how his first day was and explained what he did in the first person. My girlfriend thought this was extremely cute. As brand new parents we were really nervous about leaving our son anywhere with anyone but after leaving this place and talking to the staff we weren't AS nervous and knew he would be in good hands. Of course we were still a little nervous like i said this is all new to both of us. I wish i could give this place higher than 5 stars believe it to be that good. Although it isn't the cheapest place around, if you can afford the extra few dollars it is well worth it. We've had great experiences at Kindercare with two children over the last few years.They really do care about the children and that's been clear in all our dealings with them. As with anywhere, we've found some teachers better than others in terms of structure and approach with both the children and parents. A lot of the teachers there are absolutely fantastic - especially in the infant room. There's also been more turnover than I'd like since we started but I've heard similar complaints from parents with kids at other facilities. When it comes down to it, we feel really lucky to have our children here and know they're being challenged and well taken care of. read more

We love Kindercare! The staff is amazing, the curriculum is fantastic, and the center is clean and safe. Our daughter loves coming here, and all of the staff knows her name (not just her teachers!). We refer Kindercare to all of our friends and family.
