I was referred to Amanda's Nail Salon by a good friend whose nails always look immaculate. I have been in search of a good salon since I moved to Atlanta. Although I have found a few, I have to get my nails redone after only two weeks. I called and made an appointment with Amanda. The salon is located in a quaint little shopping strip center off Main Street. The salon has a nice atmosphere, is clean, and has soft music playing in the background. I dislike loud and busy nail salons, so this was right up my alley. I was instantly greeted by Amanda. She was extremely personable and assisted me in choosing the gel color I like. The color selection is huge! Amanda did an outstanding job! She took her time to ensure my nails were filed evenly and were all the same length. Often times I find that nail technicians ignore this detail so I was extremely appreciative of Amanda's attention to detail. I chose a unique gel color that pushed the envelope, so to speak! I typically stick with pink or red, so this was new to me - I liked it! I enjoyed getting to know Amanda while she worked diligently on my nails. I was impressed that she knew a lot about my friend. She spoke very highly of her. I was SO happy with the finished result! I will definitely return again and again and again ... Everyone in the nail salon was very nice super sweet that is about the only good thing I can say about this place. It took over 2 1/2 hours to get my nails done, and it was a basic filling with acrylic and gel. I did not mind waiting though. They did do an amazing job Not only that after a week of getting my nails done I started noticing brown spots under my nail. I thought it was the gel polish going through to my real nails went to my regular nail tech. She proceeded to explain to me that I have mold under my nails, and that she could not finish doing my nails because it was a health hazard. read more

The nail salon has a homely vibe which I do like, however the staff is a little too laid back. They took all day to finish my nails and if I had another place to be, I'd have had to cancel. The guy who did my acrylic refill is clearly a learner. Rather inept in skill and my nails ended up wonky and overly filed at the nail bed to where it looked like I'd worn the nails for a week! On top of that, the nail colour changed overnight (what IS up with that???!!). When I went in the next day, the nail tech who attended to me was fire! Attended to me promptly and corrected all the mistakes her apprentice had made, very quickly and efficiently and the end result was gorgeous actually. This is why I gave 3 stars. She was really good! I wish I took her name! Another reason for 3 stars is the pedicure - hot stone and paraffin wax pedi. The tech was amazing! She massaged my feet with love lol! I enjoyed it even though I thought the price point could've been lower! I would return but only if the better skilled techs attended to me. read more

I have been going here for over 3 years. Their nails last the longest out of every other nail salon I've tried. They're busy so you should call at least 2 hours ahead of time to make an "appointment". The first time I went there I walked in at 7:00 (they close at 7:30) and Amanda and her ladies gave me a new full set of acrylics, painted them with gel, gave me a pedi, and topped it off with a class of wine. My daughter and her friend went in to inquire about S&S nails, but they were looked down upon due to their age (12 and 13).The nail ladies looked them up and down with disapproval. So the girls turned around and left the salon. I was waiting in the car and debated going in to ask why they were so rude. They both had their Christmas money with about $200 between the two of them. I have been going to Amanda's for years now. I would never admit it to Amanda but I have dabbled in a few other places over the years as a result of moving or trying new places with my friends. However, the service at all of my other experiences combined does not hold a candle to Amanda's Nails. I am always greeted warmly and rarely have to wait longer than 5 minutes to be set up. The massages are long and the work is beautiful and efficient. The pricing is also consistent- they don't try to pull the wool over your eyes to added services nor do they pressure you or up-sell you.
