I called this location ready to book an appointment and was told we needed to have my son's records. I had a copy in my email but the office said they couldn't accept it via email. As a last resort I asked about uploading to MyChart, since I'm already a patient at another Stanford facility, I was told it couldn't be set up for my son until he had an appointment. A catch-22 enforced by "policy." Assuming this was a policy for all Stanford Children's Health locations, I called another location to ask about dropping off records and starting care there instead. They had no idea what I was talking about, pulled the immunization records directly from the state registry, and booked the appointment. All of it took less time than the back-and-forth with this location. Out of curiosity I called a third location and they offered to set up MyChart for me to upload the docs. For a practice with strong reviews, the intake experience fell way short of what new patients should expect.

He does make time to answer any questions that we have and encourages us to reach out via MyChart messaging with any additional questions. We haven't tried reaching out yet, so we can't comment on how quickly he replies. Scheduling with Pediatric Associates has been pretty easy, and we have been able to schedule with the provider we want most of the time. They do have a parking lot, and it is shared with several other medical clinics and labs. Parking hasn't been an issue for us, but we could definitely see the lot being full. TIP: For first time parents who want to select a provider from here as their kid's pediatrician, you would just call to schedule your baby's first appointment after the baby is here. They have some number of open slots for the day that they reserve for newborn (1st visit right after hospital discharge) visits. I learned about this because I asked reception how scheduling would work for my baby.

Once we completed the blood work I later found out when trying to see her result that we did blood work that had nothing to do with her alopecia and it was for kids who are starting school. I was so mad. How can you make that mistake? I ended up talking to Dr. Troung and he told me he would request for my daughter to do another blood work with the correct lab test. I don't know if it was the doctor's mistake or the front desk but my daughter is only 4 and having her redo blood work again in the same month was the worst. On top of that my insurance bills me the second time for almost 2k. The front desk said my insurance would cover it. The front desk girl would never call me to update me on anything. I'd have to call multiples times just for her to have the answer already but never gave me a heads up. This place was very unprofessional. I even tried making an appointment for my son because he had things all over his face and the front desk girl said she'd have Dr. take a look if I sent a photo and would call me back afterwards. This goes back many years, my daughter saw her for a while before we switched to Dr. Pete. Dr. Michelle berated me in her office for avoiding the HPV vaccine for my 12 year old daughter, I didn't want to argue just wanted to wait on this one, but she was very rude and condescending, and while she lectured me she missed that my daughter had scoliosis during the scoliosis part of the exam. I diagnosed it myself at home about a week later. There were other issues as well. It's ok, everyone makes mistakes, but her bedside manner just added to the sting. She has a scowl on her face I thought was reserved for just me, but apparently others have experienced this as well!
