I am currently a patient here, recuperating from various physical ailments. This is a good…read morefacility. The nurses and CNAs are really responsive to my needs, (particularly with pain management) and are very pleasant as they carry out their duties. Doctor Purshell is very compassionate, and tireless in her efforts and her commitment to her patients. The dietary department takes great care to ask what the patients likes and dislikes are. The food leaves a lot to be desired, however, but this is an extremely common problem in this type of facility. Physical therapy has been helpful, too. They have helped me regain my strength. I should add that my husband was here in 2025 for five months, recovering from a broken hip, and I visited him almost daily. When I arrived for my convalescence, everyone here remembered us, and were sad to hear that my husband had since passed away. I hope to not need to return to any skilled nursing facility in the near future, but it's nice to know that Anaheim Healthcare is here, should I need their help.

Beyond that, when I had a question about his health, I asked a nurse and she said not to ask her because she doesn't look like the doctor like she literally said "don't ask me, do I look like the doctor?" I'm sorry but if you care about your relative or family member, please don't bring them here. I might be biased but I am rightfully biased as I had a first hand experience and it was me who drove my grandma and myself here to this hell hole to go visit my dying grandpa and I still wish today they (Anaheim Crest) could have done a better job. Please do better. Your lack of empathy, and how you take care of your patients still does traumatize me to this day.

The level of care, compassion, and professionalism shown by everyone at Sun Mar is truly remarkable. No matter the situation, their staff consistently go above and beyond for their patients. Like any place, there were some issues along the way, but what stood out most was how promptly and effectively they handled everything. Every issue was addressed and resolved in a timely and caring manner, and my dad's needs were always their top priority. From the nurses and physical therapists to the staff who assisted with meals, bathing, and medication, every single person played an important role in my dad's recovery. Their teamwork and dedication made such a difference. I'd especially like to acknowledge Jun, Julie, Andy, Brandon, Jasper, Michael, Dennis, Christine, Mark, Stephanie, Lisa, Lucy, Celina, Cindy, Sarah, Angie, Jaime, Ben, Mark, Ester, Navi, Balgit, Shainah,( I am sure I am forgetting alot of names...) for their kindness, responsiveness, and personal attention throughout my dad's stay. Rating a Skilled Nursing Facility isn't easy. The circumstances for many people are tough; some…read morecoming out of the hospital for rehab and other finding this their home, after so many years living at home. My father went to the hospital ER after becoming weak and having a seizure like experience. At 95, he had just become very weak and non-ambulatory. The hospital tests had shown that he needed attention that he could no longer receive at home with caregivers. He was transferred to Alamitos West. We found Alamitos West to exceed our expectations. The facility is kept clean and the staff is friendly, professional and very helpful. They treat dad with respect, monitor him for his medications and try to keep him comfortable. The nurses, assistants, and PT all have a hard job, but they have all been so kind and helpful. Communication about Dad's condition has been good during our visits and the team keeps us informed about his vitals, when meds are being administered and any new medications. The social workers and business office team were extremely valuable at answering our questions about insurance, discharge process, finances and options. They were all so helpful and genuinely caring as Dad was transferred from short term care to long term care. They definitely made the transition much less stressful and clear. Taking care of elder parents can be extremely stressful. We found Alamitos West to provide the much needed assistance we needed for Dad.

This place should be better staffed. I cried constantly while here because of lack of care or…read moreattention. Some employees are great but others are hurtful and uncaring. (Specifically one nurse with lacquered bob and intense lipstick) I was denied ice that I needed for my hip operation recovery. I was put off getting pain meds. I was helpless yet stuck in painful situations. It was hot and sweaty on my plastic bed but I was admonished for opening a window because the rats could get in. I had no access to toilet because bathroom was used for storage. Physician released me but the administrators here kept me 2 extra painful days to finish their-"paperwork". Patents roamed the hallways groaning "help me" or fighting. It seemed as though employees cared more about supervisors than the patients. I have ptsd from being at Alamitos West. It seems nice but I had an absolutely horrid experience.
