Sitting at the bar is not fun when you hear the bartender and the patrons verbally fighting each other. It's a good place to play pool if you don't mind smelling like cigarettes when you get home because the place reeks of it. I went with a friend and we're both in the younger age range 22 and 23 with vertical Texas ID's and the boss denied us a beer because he couldn't tell if our IDs were fake or not... Don't expect much when you come here. What you get is what you get. Based on the other reviews I wouldn't order food let alone any type of drink from here.

Someone smoked in there and used the toilet paper holder as an ash tray. I should've known from entering. The lady taking our orders had to be new, but she was super kind. She was laughing with us and we all got along great. The prices were more expensive than a dive bar. They said they didn't make Mexican candy shots because they didn't have tajin so we asked for them without it. Big mistake they were wayyyyy over priced. I can't complain, because my mother in laws cousin ended up paying for everyone's drinks. He said all that matters is that we had a good time. I think I ended up have 3 margaritas on the rocks (they don't do frozen :( ), 2 amaretto sours, 1 Mexican candy shot, and one grape rain (bartender's suggestion / tastes like grape soda). The only complaint I have in the price. The bartender / manager came around and introduced herself to everyone. She was super nice and we even took some selfies with her (not on my phone). They allow smoking in here which isn't my thing, so be warned. I can't complain, because there are plenty of places that don't allow smoking that i an go to. We played pool and drank end of story. This is not a trendy bar. No bells and whistles. This is the kind of bar you come to, because you aren't dressed nice and you want a few strong drinks. Isn't the cleanest place either, but it has pool and it's huge.

Monday Night Steak Special at By Popular Demand - Memorial…read more By Popular Demand in Memorial has a fantastic Monday night steak special -- your choice of a ribeye or filet mignon with two sides for just $20. Chrissy and James bring such warmth and joy to the evening that it truly feels like you're among friends. Chrissy was our ambassador for the meal and she's down to earth. Glass of water was set of down within minutes of sitting down. Start with the tuna bites appetizer -- a perfect lead-in to the main event. The E.H. Taylor Small Batch pairs beautifully with the steaks and rounds out the experience. This is a Mazraff's restaurant, but with a very different vibe. Instead of a formal dining room, the space feels casual and relaxed -- more like a bar or even a cozy living room. It's a great place to hang out, unwind, and enjoy good food in a laid-back setting.

Second, I discovered that they're owned by the same people behind Masraff's. That's a good start. They're located in a shopping center with several other businesses, including a cat vet right next door. While it was busy, I didn't have trouble finding a parking spot. Ambiance (4/5): This is part of where By Popular Demand (BPD) shines. The interior is trendy, with both tabletop seating and more comfortable chairs and sofas. There's a small patio in the front and a larger one on the side. There aren't a ton of seats inside, so think of it as a smaller, more intimate bar. Service (3.5/5): A little slow to start out with as it took our waitress a good while to come and take our order (we were sitting on the front patio). She did apologize for the delay, and she was friendly from there on out, so things improved throughout our evening there. Food (N/A): I had dinner prior so I was on a liquid diet. I have heard they have a pretty awesome steak night on Mondays though. Next time around! Drinks (3.5/5): While they have a full bar, BPD is a cocktail bar. They have 10-12 craft cocktails, plus everything else you would expect at a bar. I went with That Cucumber Drink. I'm always a fan of any cocktail that incorporates cucumber. It was one of the few items on the menu that stood out to me. A decent number of of the offerings are more of your standard cocktails (margaritas, ranch waters, etc.) and a good number have brown liquor (while I prefer clear liquor). Not the best menu for my taste, but that's not to say it's not a solid menu. Next time around, I'll have to stop by for steak night or to try out their food menu.

The wait time was as expected for that amount of people to come in. I had the fire roasted salmon and I loved it. It was a great contrast of differing textures and flavors. It was a lot better than I expected. The portion for me was perfect, I was full and satisfied by the end of it. They do an excellent job in trying to accommodate everyone and they made an effort to regularly check in. This place has that woody, western vibe to it. Definitely a little pricey on certain menu items but aside from that a good time overall.

The ahi tuna wasn't the best. It wasn't fresh and the feta cheese was a bit too overwhelming. As for the spinach and artichoke dip, I felt like it was okay. Didn't really like the tomatoes as it made the dip runny and hinder the taste from the star ingredients of the dish. The smoked gouda burger was the best. The meat was cooked perfectly and the amount for each ingredients were given generously. I also really loved how you really can taste the smokiness from the bite. As for the pasta, I thought that it was good but not the best. It was starting to get a bit heavy with the amount of cheese and I do wish the cajun flavor could be a bit stronger. The chicken was also on the dry side but it's still pretty decent. Overall, this place is okay. Service could've been a bit better since it took a while for us to find someone to help us on our water refill and check.

So don't expect to impress for a romantic date night unless your date's really into aliens - then you should definitely take them there!! Mostly a chillaxed vibe up in here. We sat at the bar, and our mixologist was friendly and enjoyable to chat with. The drinks were crafted well. I opted for the Everglade Martini, and it was so refreshing!! I had two - let's be real! But the cocktail menu is vast, so there is something for everyone's taste buds. The food was really good too. That night, my friend and I opted for Fried Mushrooms, Kabob Gyro, and Classic Pepperoni Calzone. The mushrooms were awesome - fried perfectly, not greasy, and the Buffalo Sriracha dipping sauce was flavorful. Our meals were both great, too. Overall, a great night over some delicious vegan food!
