There is a sign about a reward for the Meramac Giant Squid being $500 & all the calamari you can eat. Also- "full-body massage Ladies free Men $25000 (paid cash in advance)" I was highly disappointed they were out of the $1 chocolate coated bacon :.-( What they did have was $9 TJs pizzas and crock pots of $2.50 precooked hamburgers, brats & hot dogs... We got brave & got the hamburgers.. Bartender gave us the bag of buns & American cheese... My friend asked where the restroom (for washing his hands) was & the bartender said "outside" then to the two guys at "we have never had running water" We said "F it" & wolfed down the burgers and did not get sick (we both have caste iron stomachs... usually) The place has true "river rat" character & characters. (River Rat- people that enjoy living and/or playing on rivers and are proud of the simple life) I would bring my own food & hand sanitizer (like the regulars). Beer, sodas, prepackaged snacks & a place to watch some of the ballgame while taking a break from the river says 2 stars for me. They did have signs to advertise some bands. Side note- they do rent dock space for boating minutes from StL. I believe this was just a "private club" we were welcomed to visit.

After traveling up via the Grafton SkyTour (reviewed separately), we decided to do the Alpine Coaster first. It cost $18 per adult for one round-trip coaster ride. After completing a waiver on a tablet, we were able to board right away. Strangely, it was not possible for myself (5'5" F) or my partner (6' M) to sit with our backs/necks in the chair and also push the hand accelerators forward all the way. That meant we both were bending forward unsupported for the entire ride in order to go fast (fast = fun!). The coaster itself was nice and shady with twists and turns that we both enjoyed. Unfortunately, we have both had bad back and neck pain and muscle spasms after the coaster (2 days at this point). They really need to move the hand controls back about 5 inches so normal people can reach them while having their backs in the ride. After the coaster, we visited the main building (Terrace) for a glass of wine. The "winery" building was closed during our visit. The main space, which feels like a banquet hall, was well air conditioned with large windows that allow a view of the river valley. The live music was nice. The Cardinals v Cubs game was on the big screen muted. The service was rather slow, which was a surprise considering that it wasn't very busy. Our server was friendly but not very knowledgeable about wine. There were only 3 Aerie's wines on the menu. I tried their Chambourcin, which was pretty good and my partner had a Pinot noir that was okay. After the wine, we took some pictures on the patio and then headed back down the SkyTour.
