For first timers wanting to climb the rope routes, they have to come with a partner and take a free introductory belaying course. The staff are incredibly helpful and pleasant to train with. For people wanting to pay a little less and avoid rope routes, they can opt for the bouldering routes scattered throughout the gym. My favourite is this cave like area, even if I'm usually not experienced enough to get through its routes. This isn't just a place for adults to get fit or hang out with friends. I actually see a lot of young children with their parents. I think rock climbing is an excellent activity that kids naturally take to and it also helps develop their confidence, fitness, problem solving skills and trust of their parents if they're belaying on the roped routes. The prices are fairly high if you only go casually and have no gear. The day pass is $12 + $7 for full equipment rental. However, if you go often, the membership prices are: 1 Month Membership $65 3 Month Membership $175 6 Month Membership $300 12 Month Membership $450 The location is a hassle to get to if you travel by bus.

But I love the blend of challenging and easy going. The entrance was a bit confusing, but they are working on signage. You enter from downstairs and then come up. There are locker rooms to leave all your stuff and then upstairs it's huge and fun. There is also food, which I loved that you can grab lunch here too. Staff was super friendly, and everything was brand new and shiny. The gym also looked fantastic. If it was closer I could see using this gym a lot but we live an hour away. I loved the windows too, so much natural light!

As we were starting our adventure within 5 minutes of being on the course, this particular guide began yelling at me in front of the entire group that I was not using the hooks properly and if I did it again I would be asked to leave the course, she then proceeded to yell at my son and tell him"it would have been really nice if you would have listened to what I was saying in the beginning" ( he's 5 and was having a hard time opening the hooks and attaching them to the cable) She said it again and again and blamed us for holding back the group. While we were frantically trying to get through the course because apparently we were holding the entire group back, we overheard her saying " what is wrong with these people and it's their fault that we are behind!" We never said a word because we were really trying to enjoy the course and not let this women ruin it. All of a sudden she tells us to get down because our time is up ( we were supposed to have 2 1/2 hours to finish this course and we still had an hour left) so we went up to her and said " we don't understand why we can't finish?" She proceeded to tell us that we were cutting into her break time and our time was done! She then looked at her watch and said " oh I have the time wrong" okay you can finish. We finished with lots of time left over, and never got an apology from her. She was plain and simple picking on us the entire time. It is a beautiful course and would have loved every minute of it if we were treated decently.

Zipline, climb, and take a historic walk at "(Ottawa) area's most…read moremagnificent waterfalls and canyon**" I'd sort of rate the historic walk a 2 or 2.5 but the aerial park looks good (did not try it this time) and is a nice backdrop to the historic walk so bump up to a 3. Two parts to this attraction: (1) the aerial park and (2) the historic walk. I went here with my dad to do the historic walk and check out the aerial park to see whether I'd want to come back. The aerial park looked cool and I would come back to try it. Ziplines, rock climbing, children's area and more! (I think) The historic walk - I would only come out from Ottawa (eg. 1.5 hour drive) it if you brought a picnic lunch on a nice day and you sort of made the day out of it. The walk takes 40 minutes going fairly slowly and there is a video of about 25 minutes at the end. One complaint about the walk is that you will get to a lookout point and there will be an old picture but its not clear whether the vantage point of where the picture was taken is the same as where you are looking from... annoying! The video at the end about the lives of the loggers would actually be better to view at the beginning so you can get a feel of the significance of what you are about to see. The explanations on the signs along the way are ok but would have appreciated a guide or more information. Prices are reasonable. When we got off the bus, we figured we were in the middle of nowhere. Walking down the street that was marked as "Triole", I thought we had the wrong place. This establishment is in a strip mall styled industrial park. We finally found the entrance and paid to get in. My brother and I started with the glow-in-the-dark mini-putt. It was dangerous! We were stumbling about in the dark. The paint provided no sense of depth perception so we ended up tripping a lot over the wood marking off each of the holes. We ended up quitting early. Never tried the rock climbing wall. The laser tag was decent. The arcade, though, left something to be desired. About half of the machines were broken. I guess this is typical of most arcades though. Was so freaked out by the atmosphere of the place that I made my brother use the stall next to mine in the girls washroom. Never stuck around to try the food. Would not recommend this place.

Where you go for a snack half way the rocks are steep to climb and it was hard to get up so I recommend making a friendly path to get up, tbh that was probably because I had a twisted ankle tho! Only way it would be even better is if they added zip lining and if the half way point bathrooms actually locked or were actual restrooms instead of outhouse style. This was an epic family trip. Full stop. Book it with your kids and fit grandparents…read more 6 of us went on their family tour, Grandpa (a fit 78), Mom, Dad (mid 40's) and 3 kiddos 8, 10, 11. This was perfect adventure trip for our family. From start to finish, it was a great introduction to white water rafting. Our guide, Monte, who was the trip leader was perfect for our group. He did an amazing job at leading both the entire trip and as a guide for our group. He answered questions, made sure we had fun, was encouraging - he read our group perfectly and made sure our adventurous kiddos had a great time and made sure our tentative 8-year-old felt safe and supported through the entire trip. Lucy, a guide on another boat, also helped our 8-year-old with her fears with words of encouragement and helped her by swimming with her on a section where she was able to float through a set of rapids. Safety was a top priority for the trip, water was flowing moderately fast for our trip, once the kids under 90lbs needed to walk down while the adults went through, and ones that all boats skipped, there was never a time where we felt that things were out of control. The trip is definitely in the wilderness, there are a few times where it's expected that you are able to exit the boat and navigate shoreline terrain. Top notch experience, worth the money for sure.

My husband and I are fitness members with the City of Ottawa, and we always come to this location…read more It is a little bit out of our way, but the facility is newer and much cleaner than the Kanata Wave Pool location. A big selling feature is that there are separate change rooms for the gym and the pool. This means that if you're going to work out you're not walking in puddles while trying to change, also, I've never seen a child in the change-room for the gym so it feels more comfortable for me. Also, the real reason that we got City of Ottawa memberships is because we aren't forced into a contract like with a regular gym. Instead you pay month to month, if you are going to be there. This is nice because I prefer to work out outside during the summer and won't be wasting money on a membership for those months.

It's easy to fit an entire team in there without having to step over the Equipment when you walk across the room.
