I live here for 2 years. Take a look for just how many water problems their building has during the last winter in Boston. It's wonderful isn't it! Go to other review platforms and do the research you will find the answer whether you want rent here or not. Honestly, the management people only cares or will make any change when no one wants to rent their place eventually. So do me a favor, go to other better place. Maybe their boss then realize how incompetent the management really are and begin care a little. By the way I attach the email so that they can't lie and say: Oh but sorry we don't recognize you as a tenant here.

CANNOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH: stay away at all cost! I lived here only a year, at first I intended to stay more but the apartments were not habitable. They are flooded with mice and roaches. Below are the pictures of some of the mice caught in traps. Their pest control team is on site only two days and whatever they do won't get rid of the mice. Of the buildings two elevators one was available and the other one always smelled like dog piss. Not to mention the roaches and the inconveniences of how we had to empty all our kitchen cabinets, closets and bathrooms for spraying. On top of that, they shut down water too many times especially in winter and once again inconveniencing us. They raised the rent $200 in a year! And that was the last straw for me and I left. After suffering from encountering mice all the time, I left the apartment in a perfect condition, I was expecting to receive my $500 deposit back. The property manager sent me a vague invoice and claimed they changed the carpet and that I owe money to them! I wrote and called to talk to her multiple times but she won't answer my calls. Of course no one will waste my hard earned money like that! I will take appropriate legal action.

Had to find out from a Facebook post!

Please stay away. I have been living here for a year and there was a dead body on the 2nd floor , we (tenants) complained about the smell and they told us it's the pets that live in the building but a body was decomposing for 2 months! They didn't reach out to let us know what happened in the complex that we live in! Only reason they checked for this man is because rent was due ! The person is still on the loose & do you think they told us that? They did nothing to take care of our safety. Disgusting place no humanity please don't rent from here. *picture below*

There is a terrible mice problem in the building I live (#250). They just won't fix the hole in my apartment through which mice are coming in. I have been contacting the office 3 weeks in a row but they give lame reasons saying the person fixing these holes doesn't work for them directly, you will be put on the list, etc. I have work request opened for fixing this on October 17th now it's more than a month but no response. As a landlord it's their responsibility to provide proper pest control but it looks like they want to take no responsibility on this issue. Moreover the property manager has stopped responding to my emails, since I'm emailing her repeatedly about this. They won't meet in person to discuss due to COVID, no response to emails, calls and work orders. Worst service.

I wish I could give them negative stars to this hellhole. The management is awful, the apartments are infested with mice. The people at office talk to you like they are doing you a favor. Hello! I also pay rent and deserve to live in a safe and sanitary place. The apartments are far from luxury they should really reconsider calling a mice infested place a luxury. Do not trust Lori, she will sweet talk you into signing lease of an apartment with issues. Kim and Kelley, the property managers are just as awful. It has been three weeks we haven't slept in the apartment we pay rent for because of mice. These people made serious repairs only when we called department of health. To get basic necessities such as a sanitary place free from rodents, you need to call board of health. The maintenance blatantly lie about us not cooperating in repairs when they come anytime disturbing us throughout the day. These people do not respect their tenants and if you really care about peace of mind, DO NOT RENT FROM THESE PEOPLE.

mice are so comfortable at Altitude running around during the day with people around

I'll echo the comments of others here to start. In summary - it's just totally unpleasant. They DO clean daily and the maintenance staff you'll encounter on a daily basis are friendly and do want to be helpful. That's what at least leaves Altitude Apartments with One Star. My family has been there since it was Grenada in the 80's and 90's and I'm happay to be the last to call this mess of a community home. Another post commented that the good reviews must be fake or the person got some benefit. Probably true. Management has a notorious reputation for "getting even" with residents who dare to challenge or complain either in terms of not offering lease renewals, withholding security deposits by fabricating problems or giving poor recommendations to other landlords. To say that the management is awful would be giving them too much credit for exhibiting ANY sense of duty of care for their customers - the residents. And that's seemingly what's forgotten - the resident are their customers. Sleeve and contempt oozes from everyone in that management office. Let's begin with the next daily interaction "security." Whether it's at the gate or in the mailroom "laziness" is Standard Operating Procedure. You'll occasionally find one or two who'll actually manage to muster up enough ambition to get out of their chair at the main gate while assisting or handing out a visitor pass; and Id give the mailroom staff the benefit of the doubt of being overwhelmed with package deliveries (which must be done because the building themselves lack any true effort at security and your packages delivered to the building mailroom will likely be stolen anyway) if they weren't simply lazy and liars. Working from home I've often had work items sent via fedex and UPS, receive delivery confirmations and be told by the mailroom folks that they'll say delivered but the package won't actually be delivered until the next day. I've checked w UPS, FedEx and USPS and this is simply not true. It seems that this excuse is the attendants passing the buck to the next shift to deal with. Until they are firmly told its not true that they'll put that little bit of extra effort into finding the package, and SURPRISE it's there. This has been consistent between the two security providers that have worked at Altitude since I've been there. Again, the result of poor management by Altitude and the provider. Add to that "Security" has no Supervisor available to escalate issues with and the complexes "emergency" number just goes to voicemail any after-hours issues and you're on your own. Luckily few "guards are alone as they often have their buddies around joking and smoking/vaping in the guard house. I'll also address parking as an example of Altitude's disdain for its customers. Last year they implemented a parking fee for each vehicle. For rents that average $2k monthly inside a gated community where there is NO other option for "free" parking in the vicinity the idea of charging for every vehicle is an abhorrent money-grab. Assigning spaces per driving adult or even bedroom should be expected, and perhaps even charging for space beyond the normal 2 adults per-room formula could be reasonable, what they've done is just plain petty. Have a guest or rental car overnight? You'll have to be one of the lucky 50 to get a pass for the night or face ZERO parking in the areas outside the main gate (all by permit only). Additionally the ONLY thing that can be called "efficient" when it comes to Altitude is the tow-truck service who is regularly visible patrolling the grounds for their next easy pay-day; which of course if there's a problem there Altitude has a totally hands-off philosophy. An obvious sign that someone in the management office receives a kickback for being a great customer. Saying you live in Altitude is sure to bring a laughable moment by many who have been in the Greater Boston area for some time and references to it's predecessor "Granada's" glory days before it's own decline and subsequent rock-bottom reputation as Altitude. Whether it's the mice and ant infestations which are the norm rather than exception, not-so infrequent shut down of water because of maintenance (ie all systems are interconnected so if someone needs a shower fixed or dishwasher replaced the entire building looses water during the repair), suspicious vehicles and exchanges between cars pulling around the back doors of buildings and residents running out quick, taking days to fix fire alarms, lackluster and uninspired security, or the mailroom, Altitude will certainly offer some form of regret, unpleasantness or aggravation on a daily basis.

One more thing I need to remind you guys is that the 5 stars reviews are published by the pressure of managers by 50 bucks so be careful. Actually my move-in date should be August 15th last year and the real move-in date is September 23rd. That was a miserable time,we take our luggages from place to place searching for short rents because of the 5 times of delay. That really sucks. After I moved in,things are getting a little bit better. The apartments are new and the facilities are okay. But we didn't get our compensation after several hard meetings with the manager which should be all set already but ignored by the managers. The price is going higher and higher and it's totally not worthy to live there. There are tons of apartments which are better than this. This apartment just trick new coming international students and trust me, I've lived there. What's more, good services cannot be the reason to ignore people after they moved out. They didn't return my security deposit after I moved out, even don't return my emails so be careful of the irresponsible managers. After been here for this long, choosing Residence@MaldenCenter is the worst decision I've made because I not only met awful managers but also suffered from serious arrogant and naive&disgusting roommates. We got here less than a week before before the COVID shut downs so we didn't get to use the amenities like the pool, gym, BBQ area but it all looked nice. While the apartments are nice, I would say the construction of the cabinetry or the appliances aren't quite the best quality, it all looks nice and it all works which is the most important thing. I've lived in apartment complexes before and some of them bank on hitting you for fees especially at move-in and move-out. This is not the case. The staff from the maintenance people to the management are attentive and actually care. A case in point: we had a cat which is $50/month pet me. He was an old man and got sick. We had to put him to rest. We had already paid our rent and they had no problem crediting back the monthly pet fee and adjusting the rate. There is a package locker here but most of the time the Amazon workers don't care and dump the packages in the lobby of the building you're in. No amount of correspondence from the management here could ever possibly rectify that because the people delivering the packages don't get paid enough to care. As a result, some packages end up in weird places. On a couple occasions someone from the staff had actually brought over some things outside our door, which was much appreciated especially during the height of the COVID outbreak when we were limiting our entrance and exit through common areas. The one time I had to file a noise complaint it was handled immediately. This is the place where you're walking around and the maintenance staff will ask you how you're doing. Stop and ask to see if everything is all good and make sure nothing doesn't need to be fixed. We moved out because we found our perfect home. We didn't hold our breath thinking they could re-lease the unit but we were able to get off the last month and one week of rent owed because someone leased the unit we vacated. We had no issue getting the deposit back - minus the replacement cost for the blinds our toddler broke. We really liked the short distance to the ALDI and Stop And Shop and other places. Would've loved to have been able to frequent the bar up the road, it was just opening up its outdoor space by the time we moved. A+ no regrets. Thanks Todd, Craig, and everyone else.

The key things I look for in an apt is safe, clean, affordable (can you even say this in MA lol), free parking, and my own bathroom (typically live with roommates). Wellington Place: I moved here Mar 2020, to take over someone's lease that lost their job. It fit the bill of what I was looking for, in addition to being in walking distance (within 10 minute walk) of my top grocery stores: Aldi, Trader Joes, and Stop & Shop. Its approx 15 min walk to Assembly Row, 5 min drive to Target and Costco, and 5 min drive to Wegmans. Its by far the most convenient location I've lived in within the US. Its a quick drive to Boston about 15-20 min drive and about 20 min drive to Burlington where I frequent for work. Lastly, its about 5 min walk to Orange line Wellington T stop. If you have a car, parking is plentiful here, no long treks to the car :). Aside from location I loved that they have trash and recycling drop off on each floor; hence, you don't have to worry about stepping foot outside to throw away trash. I'm an avid recycler so I loved that they had this option available (my previous apt in Burlington didn't). The rooms are huge. I have my office inside of my bedroom and a queen size bed and I still have more space. I also have a good size walk-in closet. However, my roommate's room and walk-in closet is much bigger than mine (I'm sure she can fit in addition to a desk a small couch in her room). When it comes to cost, they are very affordable for the location. I try to keep a hard cap on living expenses (no more than 1,500 a mo. including utilities). Lastly the staff from the maintenance team to the leasing office are customer-centric. I had initially told them that I would be moving after 3 months once I moved in but I fell in love with the place. They provided concessions to ensure that I was a happy a customer. Maintenance staff are very responsive and do a good job of following up after they fix items to ensure it works. I honestly wish that these were condos instead of apt because I would definitely look into buying here. If you're looking for an A1 experience I highly suggest Wellington Place :).

I also used her to find an apartment for me and she charged me $2400 to rent an apartment she was going to use for Airbnb but the owner didn't wanted Airbnb in her space. . She told me it was a finders fee.. This is a very illegitimate human being and definitely don't let her go near your husband if you want to stay married.!

Oh hey! Let's make an appointment with a possible tenant and not show up!…read moreThat's what Claude did. I had an appointment set to see three apartments. I went to the office and there was a sign on the door that said "At showing, be back soon". No biggie, I can wait a few minutes...then a few minutes turn into more minutes.. and so I email Claude, and call Claude. So after waiting for 30 minutes I leave. Hours later I receive an email from him apologizing and that he had been ill and was just getting to the office. Really? Event though the sign said you were at a showing? Hmmm. Regardless, call or email to reschedule. Rude and unprofessional. These apartments are still available since they are re-posted every five minutes on Craigslist. Maybe if Claude followed through they would have been rented by now...just saying...

Conveniently located within walking distance of downtown Melrose, a pleasant residential suburb with good local schools, the area also provides easy access to the Fells hiking trails and public transportation to downtown Boston with the nearby commuter rail (which is far enough to not cause noise issues). Although they do not offer as many shared amenities as other locations, the apartments are well-fitted with modern accommodations, including washer/dryer and premium kitchen appliances. Rent prices are comparably affordable for the area. With regard to service, they have been exemplary in my experience. Specifically, they were gracious and understanding of my situation when a family member was ill and I had to be away for an extended period of time. Without their support, I would not had peace of mind about my living situation while I was away. Thank you very much Corey 10!

Walked around a bit after checking out the inside and was even-more pleased - there is an awesome little strip of shops, restaurants, cafes and bars right around the corner that is lined with hanging and potted planters (adorable). I chatted with a few people while walking and everyone I came into contact with was really sweet and friendly - love that community feel. There's a dunks like 50 feet from the building (super convenient), and there are parks and green spaces all over the place. Seriously great spot!
