Once we finalized our move to the area, we began researching providers. Through a co-worker, I found out about The Human Body Shop. We initially saw Serena our first few visits but once she went on maternity leave, we began seeing her husband Dan. Both are very personable, engaging and made my wife and I feel very comfortable. In addition, we were very surprised at the level of involvement our visits entailed. Ever since I was a teenager, chiropractors would spend a few minutes with me doing the traditional crack of the back and twist of the neck. Not here. An adjustment goes much deeper. Dan and Serena combine chiropractic care, sports medicine and massage therapy, not just focusing on the part of the body that is stiff or hurts but addressing the root cause of the issue. Once your body mechanics and posture are analyzed, they begin working on the areas of concern. There is still the crack of the back and a twist of the neck, when necessary, but that is just one part of the visit. After going to chiropractors for 20+ years, without a doubt Serena and Dan have been the best!

Unlike some physical therapy specialists who work with several patients at one time or just turn them loose with exercise machines, Javin works personally hands on during the FULL time. He also is careful to perform therapy with a MINIMUM of pain. He has been a tremendous help during my shoulder recovery and physical therapy. I have since recommended Javin to several friends who are very happy with his therapy. My experience with Saylor physical therapy and Javin has been incredible and I Strongly recommend him.

After going to PT prescribed by my surgeon for a couple of months I realized they had no idea what to do for the nerve damage. Fortunately, a friend had been to Javin for a different nerve damage issue. He had wonderful success with Javin. I made the switch and never looked back. My neurologist told me the nerve could take 1-1.5 years to heal. I am now 8 months post op and nearly completely recovered. Javin's approach to therapy was completely different to anything I had ever experienced. His individual attention is like having a personal trainer.

I am so happy to have found Hoctor Chiropractic in Cornelius, NC. I have seen chiropractors before…read morein the past, each with different approaches, but for my current needs I'm finding this to be my favorite so far. Dr. John Hoctor wastes no time. The deep tissue work done on my shoulders had me bounding back into my favorite movements quickly. The cupping offered at the end of each session is easily my favorite time of the appointment. For those that enjoy a little pressure (and that incredible relief), I seriously recommend trying out cupping. I could fall asleep on that table and I always leave feeling so relaxed. Thank you for your attention to detail and care. Hoctor Chiropractic has several parking spots and an accessible ramp in the front of the building. Scheduling an appointment is as easy as making a phone call.

One year ago on Twitter I asked for a good sports chiropractor in the No. Charlotte, Huntersville,…read moreCornelius area, and got a reply from a personal trainer that I trusted that simply said "Doc Hoctor is the best!". I was having shoulder joint issues that wanted looked at. The first consultation included x-rays where we discovered that the curvature of both my neck and lower back were lost, AND I had arthritis!! He discussed a clear plan for suggested treatment, and I went for it right then and there! Dr John is always available to answer questions and offer treatment on the spot! He's up on all of the health and wellness ideas that can aid anyone's diet, exercise and overall health goals. Now, one year later...my back spasms that I've had for over 30 years are almost non-existent! The traction treatments for my neck and back are working to get the curvature back, and I'm working on the arthritis with a green juice/smoothie daily as well as lots of raw kale and spinach in my diet. Doc Hoctor IS the best!

My experience with Saylor Physical Therapy has been extremely troubling, and I want others to be…read moreaware of what happened. The clinic collected $420 in copays from me for six visits that were denied by my health insurance because Saylor did not obtain the required preauthorization. BCBS explained that when a denial is caused by a provider's administrative error, the patient is not responsible for any charges or copays. My Explanation of Benefits statements confirm that I am responsible for $0 for these visits. Despite this, the clinic kept the money. I spoke with their office manager and explained the situation. She refused to refund the copays because she was adamant the clinic would be paid for those visits. I explained that even though BCBS refused to pay, they would still receive payment from Geico for those visits since it was a personal injury claim. She still refused to refund the copays but said they would be refunded if they received payment from insurance. Later, Saylor Physical Therapy accepted payment in full from Geico for all six denied visits and still did not return my money. They have ignored every voicemail and email I've sent since then. There was also a seventh visit where they took my $70 copay, received payment from BCBS, and then accepted another payment in full from Geico for the same date of service. According to the information I received, they told Geico the visit had not been paid, even though BCBS had already paid the claim months earlier. They kept all three payments. This does not feel like a simple oversight -- it reflects a pattern of billing behavior that no patient should have to deal with. In total, Saylor Physical Therapy owes me $490 that I believe should be refunded, and they have refused to communicate or correct the issue. I have been left with no choice but to turn to the NC Department of Insurance and the NC Attorney General for assistance. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this clinic to anyone seeking honest or professional treatment.
